Will Max's Supercharged Xr8 have enough grunt to go around me at the strip?

Cheers and thanks for watching!
Blake.
Savage.... looking forward to the dyno run and the race against Max. 👌🇦🇺
Cheers mate, so am I 🙂
Dude that's crazy!! Must've been scary as heck!!
Definitely wasn't ideal mate! I'm just glad it wasn't the engine 😅
That could have been so bad at 160+. Looking forward to the progress of the repair.
I was super lucky this time!
Wanna play with the big boys , you better be prepared to pay . It's not just a bout kw . Drive train strength is often over looked by newbies and novices .
I don't even have KW 😅 but I agree, I think people don't want to pay and I don't blame them 😁
sorry to hear about the failure, keen to have a run and show two different combos
Ahh, that's racing isn't it! I'm keen too, I better get fixin' haha I think people will appreciate the comparison
@@GapSauceRUclips been waiting for this comparison for a while. Can't wait for it.
Yeah hurry up guys!!
@@brankokolevski3936 I'm keen, will be interesting I'm sure. Max's ute had alot of usable power, mine is all up top.
Reminds me of when Maxx Performance dynoed their Barra swapped EA falcon and the tailshaft broke and sent the output shaft through the floor... Count your lucky stars mate! Look forward to seeing it run again!
Definitely mate, very lucky this time. Glad I decided to stick to my gut feeling and back out of the pull when I did. Cheers! 🙂
don't tell me they were using a stock EA tailshaft.
@@benwalker4660 Pretty sure it was stock shaft mate, rated to 180 kmh. Definitely were sending it well over that on the dyno
Good luck with the repair dude 👍🏼 .. not that I’ve ever torn a tail shaft out like you 😜 but I had a XR6T ute years ago that always had variable vibration in it over 140. I finally got a customized fully balanced tail shaft installed and the vibration was gone. The OEM single piece shaft was so out of balance the factory literally used half a lead brick to try and make it acceptable, NOT.
Thanks Ben, I wonder if your tailshaft had been removed previously without being marked for correct orientation like I mentioned in the video 🤔
@@GapSauceRUclips bought it as a demo so anything is possible, tailshaft was a banana though 🍌. So jealous of you Bro, I just don’t fit under cars anymore.
@@thatguyben3128 oh nice, ahh I still struggle to get around on my back down there, I'm sitting just under 120kg which doesn't help for racing haha
Normally when they break loose they come through the passenger foot well . An off comes the legs . Should be a major concern and warning to anyone running stock tailshaft with more than 25% power over factory .you really need a 4" shaft and better output shaft on trans custom made billet. It's all $$$$$'s
I think the power I currently have I could probably get away with just a billet donut(it failed off the throttle) but I'm investigating my options.. Top of the wish list is a carbon shaft.
That some serious carnage. Can’t wait to see it out again after you get it all sorted
I'm running out of driveline parts parts break 🤣
Only bit you haven’t broken is the box
Oh nah he's broken the box too 😜🤣🤣🤣
@@samicarlin4491 😳😅
glad its not to bad, this is the one reason i havent had my wagon on a strip yet, once shaft and loop are in then ill be out there,
Sorry to see your car in such a state. On the plus side, my Commodore can beat your GT now ;)
Haha thanks mate.. yeah you definitely have me in the bag right now 😆
Hope you get it running soon mate will look forward to seeing it on the track again 👍👍
Thanks Paul, I'm keen too. Just gathering quotes for new shafts 🙂
Holy shit mate that tailshaft was hungry! Time for a 1 piece aluminium one with tailshaft loop? 😂
A good steel alloy- heavier- able to handle the torque load. Weight advantage no safety and power. As a titanium wrapped one is expensive.
I really want a Carbon unit, but I need to race it on the 18th haha
good luck with the repairs. Hope its not as hard as you think it is.
It's nothing overly difficult, just time consuming as always 🙂
Thanks!
Hi m8
Do You know exactly where it gave way?? Was it at the donut or near the hanger bearing? Cheers
The donut came apart unfortunately.
And a trans blanket check out maxx performance video best demonstration i have seen
Cheers, I'll have a look!
Mmmm butter
Very interested to see what was the outcome. Did you go with a carbon fibre shaft? i'm looking at upgrading my bf gt drivetrain for drag racing
I went a BF shaft to get me going. I'd like a carbon shaft eventually.
Some nice rear shocks with adjustable rebound will do wonders, a stiffer rear swaybar too.
@@GapSauceRUclips me being a total novice with drag racing and looking at doing it more regular with my bf gt. My 1st mod is gonna be tailshaft and diff gears. I think the tailshaft is overlooked when doing mods
geez id love to see a built one with turbos lol.
I do have another engine waiting for a plan 😉
Dam they don't half make a mess when they go...
It definitely made quick work of literally everything in the area 🤣
Go Carbon shaft!
Have to tee it up to have a blown 5.0 GT in the mix too!
Thats on the wish list mate! I'm currently pricing up a bunch of options, unfortunately under time constraints for the All Ford day 🙂 I'm definitely keen for runs with yours too, are you coming down?
@@GapSauceRUclips *may* have other commitments on the day. If I can make it, I'll be there though.
dont wory about the tailshaft....what about the big hole in the floor...OR is that the shifter hole ?
Some of it was the shifter hole, its just larger now haha. I'll be replacing all of that metal.
I have to run a tailshaft loop. Due it being a skid car
Nice, its worth it! Is it a requirement for burnout events?
@@GapSauceRUclips yeah for any skid car. Weather it has a 2 piece shaft of full shaft a loop is now mandatory
Poor GT
I'm not happy about it, but metal can be repaired 🙂
Another good video be kean to u up against max go i like the i need to up grade my tail shaft for passengers safety fuck that made me laugh I'm gona use that one when I get mine done to tell my Mrs 🤣🤣 keep em coming bro chur
Hahaha glad you enjoyed it mate! Thanks for watching 😁
What exhaust system are you using?
Custom twin 3 inch, x pipe and single straight thru muffler dumped at the diff
@@GapSauceRUclips what the exhaust worth?
Is the all Ford day just the dyno session or can you race as well?
I believe you can race too mate, although I should probably double check that one!
@@GapSauceRUclips yeah I had a geez on Facebook and it only says dyno thought you might’ve been the man with all the answers 😉
@@MountainGoatSolid Hahaha, I am the man with half the answers 🤣
One of the officials just confirmed the strip will be open on the day to enter 🙂
@@GapSauceRUclips awesome well I will try be there in my Ute 🤙
Are you going a 1 peice tail shaft?
If I can have a 1 piece carbon made in time, that's the dream haha. But we will see, I don't have alot of time. 🙂
I've got an idea... since it handles low speed pretty well, why not try to race it? Oh wait...
🙏🤣
If you don't get it fixed in time I'll lend you the SP25 GT.
Haha, I couldn't handle the torque steer and you know it 🤣
weight reduction
I have an aluminium donut for my t56 conversion, If you need, I can send it down for you to copy it
Hey mate, thanks for the offer. I did look into the Billet units, I'll use a genuine one this time unless I decide to upgrade 🙂
>Eighty million dollars of mods to the car
>Car shifts at low speed, blows the driveline
>Fuck it, throw more money at it
🤣 Looks like you have it sorted mate. What you have described is racing in general 😉.
@@GapSauceRUclips "Mate" you weren't even racing yet. Could have happened merging onto a highway!
@@thomasjefferson8629 I'd been racing for 80 minutes straight when it came apart. 🤔 Not to mention the previous events attended. I've put that tailshaft through hell and it had 170,000km on it, countless passes at the strip on drag radials inclusive, it fared well in my eyes. 🙂 After all, it''s a stock driveline.
@@thomasjefferson8629 have a look at it again, see when it breaks. Was I on/off the gas, or in the next gear?
It's a fucking ford, now go on and get the tailshaft loop so that can break too
Stop being salty my man, get out and live a little. If you live your life in fear of breaking/being hurt, it's never going to amount to anything. 🤷♂️
@@GapSauceRUclips I own 5 antiquated vehicles, none of them cost more than $3500 and none of them are as unreliable as that jalopy. If that were my jalopy I'd sell it on Marketplace

Basic maintenance and no need for making excuses dude.
Both the Donut and Centre Bearing were replaced 6months ago (as you can see the centre bearing looks new). I'm not sure I made any excuses? 🤔🤣
