We bought an eclipse cross last year before all of the inflation hit and absolutely love the car. Anyone that I have talked to and has purchased one feels the same way. Some reviewers expect a vehicle to be as comfortable and as plush as a high-end BMW. Mitsubishi vehicles from my experience after owning five of them over the years have always been rock solid reliable and easy to maintain. I just wish here in the United States we could get their pick up truck.
This comes across to me at first viewing as a very cynical review. I had to watch twice, second time round it’s very professional and detailed. Really enjoyed it.
It is much better than the ASX, one major thing mitsubishi continues to leave out is rear ac vents. Instead of putting in heated rear seats they could have added rear ac vents. The 1.5 4b40 turbo engine is solid and very tolerant to low quality gasoline. It is multi point fuel injection and won't suffer from carbon build up like mazda cx-5, hyundai tucson, Kia Sportage and selltos. All mitsubishi competitors besides toyota are using gdi engines that suffer in the long run, unless you install catch cans. I think mitsubishi engineering is solid but they kick themselves with bad decisions.
Everytime I was these test of late, I always get the "wait for it" feeling on the price and usually I'm gobsmacked by what manufacturers are expecting on these cars, they really seem to be heading towards pricing themselves out of the market, or is it just me.
The tailgate design "A massive w**k", best description ever. Jeremy Clarkson eat your heart out. Bye the way we also have 18" alloys in uk but seeing we are no longer in europe I'll let it go.
The rear is much improved, the front of all these Mitsubishi models is just so polarising 😕 Interior is a letdown as always, you can see that silver wearing off in patches like you see in Holden's
The 2.0 in the asx and outlander makes the same power with less moving parts. Why would you bother. Agree with it needing a 6 speed manual. Same as the asx and outlander. That transmission is MIA
As much as I like the review, I am disappointed in Mitsubishi. I heard they cannot make the Lancer because Nissan wanted no competition with their GTR. In that case why not make a reasonably powerful spec Colt to rival the Yaris? Oh wait, Mitsubishi will find a way to turn it into a crossover. Plus they have the Mirage, which lives up to its name...in a bad way. The more I see car news for Mitsubishi, the less ambitious and innovative they are. They're playing it too safe, other than the pricing. Regardless, this video is spot on. Keep at it.
Ponch largely determines his own schedule - and I don’t think he’s ever said he’s not a fan of the brand. In fact in his last Mitsubishi video he listed heaps of great past cars from this brand.
Have mitsubishi addressed the crap paint finish ie: peeling ... they don't hold up well to the Australia sun even magnas made in SA .. sad because in general they are bullet proof
Much better vehicle to drive than the ASX it was meant to replace. However, no rear aircon vents but has heated seats!? And 110KW for a vehicle that weighs 1,600kg’s!? Come on Mitsubishi’s, get your head out of your ass! CVT just to top it off too!!! 🤦🏻🤣

@@dominicmota5564 they won't. Because they want to keep selling the GTR. It doesn't make sense to have a car that competes with their flagship race car. Why would you buy a GTR if there's a cheaper option??

"I think most people will think that 8 inches is enough" Lel. Keep up the good work mate.
heated seats at the second row and no air vents, great for Australia
*Mitsubishi... It might be a generation behind in fancy technology, however the car lasts a generation longer than the others.*
not too many people care about that. I rather have a new car than a new car that feels old
Do you post this on every review of this car?
You've posted exactly the same comment on other people's reviews
i hate people like this doing reviews he is obviously a luxury car guy, and this car is not for him.
💯

Pretty cute Nathan dressed to match the car’s colour scheme.

Another great review by Ponch. Looking better without the golden tips mate!

"usual styling wank" LMAO -- you've got a new fan. Thanks for the laugh
10 years warranty on all cars ... hard to beat.
Nice review. I'm also waiting for a PHEV version to be reviewed.
Excellent review as always.
Thanks!
nowdays theres a lot of metallic red paint that looks like the unique mazda soul red paint

Great review, I’m sure people will be flocking to any other dealer but Mitsubishi after watching this dim effort.
Nothing seemed good enough....
Nice sneakers your wearing what kind are they?
Feels more like a 8s 0-100 car the engine and trans are good for a suv and good for soft off roading in sand
My dream car

The RAV 4 is downright ugly

The back end of that really needs a piece of chrome to break up the red monotony.
Yeah. Don’t see any point buying this one when you can add 3-5k and get rav4. I think it’s worth the 6 months waiting period of rav4
Great review. No time stamps?
Mr. Ponchard can keep doing some of these reviews.....informative/funny/but calling bits of a car a ‘wank’....kept me laughing....
The rear end looks like a Pontiac aztec
8" inches is a good size honestly, my experience informs me 😉
Tbh this looks far better than honda and toyota's 10000 years old design inside out

I have the baseline version. pretty good but Nissan still king of fuel consumption
Thanks for the review, Gerard Butler
The old model always reminded me of a Pontiac Aztec, not a compliment.
It's not bad and it looks sexy the rear just looks so bad compared to the front.
I find it odd that Chasing Cars keeps giving reviews of Mitsubishis to Nathan when he himself admits that he isn't a fan of them. Why?
Ponch largely determines his own schedule - and I don’t think he’s ever said he’s not a fan of the brand. In fact in his last Mitsubishi video he listed heaps of great past cars from this brand.
Because it's click bait. Even if the car is over all pretty good he is going to hate it as its not an Evo.
Also this is 4 grand cheaper than the seltos in New Zealand. So either you are paying way more than us for mitsubishi. Or your lying
Another Xpander looking Mitsu. Barf!
Certainly a strong front end
Not sure what you were driving. But in NZ this has ever safety feature you can get on a car.
Every safety feature?
I’d didn’t realise NZ was a third world country?
Dont you have covid to go and catch or something

The eclipse name plate simply doesn't belong on a Suv
I don’t understand why the engine is so underpowered like wtf
Wtf were they thinking. 3000gt minivan next
WHEN will they learn if its not a 2.0 ltr turbo its not worth looking at no matter how they dress it up its still dangerously slow
Bullshit. People used to get around with 2litre engine that made only 70kW just fine
looks okay, would be good as a hire car.
Fuel economy is appalling.
much better than a over priced and cheap build toyota corolla cross
