My wife and I relocated to Morelia, Michoacan two years ago. She's Mexican and I'm from Reno, Nevada. I was never interested in being by the ocean. We actually rented a too large, nearly 4000 sq ft home in a very nice neighborhood, for 8000 pesos ($400 USD) per month. We've had no need for a car yet, UBER or public transportation is efficient and mostly less expensive than a car, especially when considering insurance, etc. Almost all of our shopping can be done within walking distance. We can live easily on my Social Security income, with plenty to save, travel, and entertain. It's proven to be the best move I've ever made! VIVA MEXICO 🇲🇽

He seems like a great guy who found what he wanted..where he wanted..and for a price he could afford. What more could ask for?! 😉 Now the Con's: Bucerias is incredibly expensive compared to other beach communities in MX. For example: For what Jason payed for this 1 townhome in Bucerias..In Yucatan (which is rated the safest state in all of MX)..you could purchase 3 of them with even better build quality..more upscale gated community..your own private pool..and a short walking distance to powder white beaches with less traffic and more natural beauty. Which is exactly what I would do because you could rent 2 units and live in one..and therefore have a supplemental income investment that ends up paying for all three units over time. Or..you can hold on to the other two units renting them out until prices go up and sell them for a profit. 💲💲💲 However..I'm sure Jason knew this already and had his reasons for staying in Bucerias..and as long as he's happy and can afford it that's all that matters. 🙂 I just wanted to remind people you have plenty of other options. Nice video Jason thanks. It brought back many memories as we used to spend the winters in Terralta 3. We also liked to watch the cows and horses behind our place also. It looks like they may have completed those 3 abandoned condos near the entrance. Enjoy your new home.
Hi Jason, Charlie from Boston USA. I just came back from Bucerías last week. I was there for over two months this trip. I got to tell you I started in Teralta one about a year ago . I was in your same townhouse. Literally. I called Joel. I spoke with Daniela and Paul and they got me that unit from Pam. Two weeks in February March 2022 I sat in those hammocks. I liked it so much. I went back in May for two more weeks I recognized the place immediately. And the rooftop views . I am still researching. I will rent for one year And maybe one day, I’ll have the courage to sell my house in Boston. I will be back in October I kept my apartment in Bucerías . Best wishes brother. Say hello to Paul and Daniela for Charlie in Boston. Peace.
Hey Charlie! Thanks for watching the video. You’re the original renter of “Las Brisas”. We have more rentals available now. You can contact Daniela. Info@beachlifemexico.com - Paul
@@MovingToMexiCo thank you Paul. Much appreciated. I actually rented an apartment just in back of Teralta one . I love my neighborhood and I have gotten to know the neighbors. I have been studying Spanish for a couple of months in Bucerías My Spanish is improving. They seem to understand me lol. Only God knows Hall. I arrived back in America this week, but I will return in October for the winter. Thank you for everything Paul and thank you to your family you have all been very gracious and kind with me. As have my New Mexican neighbors. Viva Mexico 🇲🇽 ♥️

Hola Jason! just wondering how you are feeling being in Mexico after this much time has passed? I just sold my farm and am having terrible sellers regret and am now fearful of my upcoming move to Bucerias/La Cruz area. Guess I just need some positive vibes.
Hola buenas tardes Geri! I think we all totally get it with those feelings especially with you selling your farm. I absolutely love this area and being in Mexico. Bucerias and La Cruz is such a great combo of towns next to each other, and I often utilize and migrate back and forth. Living here, you have to have a different mindset as you know, but, for those who can absorb and appreciate the change, like me, flourish greatly. I am very happy living here and honestly, it just gets better and better each day as I get more comfortable with the transition of living in another country. The good vibe waves are here to be had....grab a board and catch your wave!! Oh snap, I see one coming now. Gotta go!! 😎🌊✌

Hello,I live in London UK, I have been to Mexico multiple times and I know several states but I have never been there, it looks like a true paradise. Could you give me an indication of how much a house like where you live now costs, please? Is there an English speaking community?
There is a range that goes from about 150k to 400k for homes similar to this one. A lot depends on the neighborhood and condition of the home. Send me an email if you’re interested in learning more. Info@movingtomexi.co
I bought a house on the Tierra Alta track. It was for vacationing. I went for about 5yrs, then I sold it. It would be a great place to live. It just got boring to vacation seeing the same thing.
Living in Bucerias, Mexico, as an American or Canadian citizen can offer a delightful coastal lifestyle with a strong sense of community. Embrace the slower pace and savor the charming local culture. Learn some Spanish to enhance your interactions and fully immerse yourself in the vibrant expat community. Take advantage of the beautiful beaches, indulge in fresh seafood, and explore the nearby attractions. While the cost of living may be lower, be aware of local regulations and ensure you have proper residency and health insurance. Embrace the warmth and hospitality of the locals while respecting their customs and traditions. Engage in local activities, volunteer opportunities, and frequent social gatherings to build lasting connections and make the most of your time in this idyllic Mexican town. Thanks, MOVING TO MEXICO!
It must take a certain kind of mindset to be able to do this. A couple of my friends dreamed of living on Guam for nearly 30 years. Traveled back and forth several times, etc. to be sure it was the right thing, then sold everything and moved. Two months later they were back because they said they never could get over the feeling of wondering why their vacation was going on for so long.
Thank you for this great video. 👍👍👍 I'm a dog lover too, but not wealthy enough to buy real estate. I'll look through your other videos hoping to find a recent one about renting along the coast near Puerto Vallarta. If you haven't got a recent one, perhaps it would make a good topic for a future video. Thanks again!
Great candid video! Enjoyed your journey and congrats on your new home! We are heading down in June from LA to Mexico City to live and enjoy! Not going to buy, hope to find an amazing place to rent… a terrace or rooftop is totally needed! outdoor space ! Will be so glad to leave the stress of this town. It’s gone insane here, sadly. I feel safer in Mexico than in Los Ángeles ! ( even in suburbia !)
Much appreciated and thank you! Yeah I feel you with the craziness that is happening up north everywhere. Very sad indeed. Best of luck and go get you a slice of some Mexico City! Exciting! Saludos
We sold everything after our early retirement and we're traveling to see the world for ten years since. We found SE Asia is the best for us even it's a far away from home. There is always an option in life. Be mindful. Be kind whenever possible. Be happy of what we have. Life is short to do the things we don't love doing but life is very precious. No matter how much we make and it will never be enough. We came to this world barehanded and we are going back with nothing. Peace out from a genocide survivor under the brutal Khmer Rouge Pol Pot. Most of my family members did not survive. Happy travels 🎉
Hi Jason and thank you for sharing your story, it is quite refreshing to hear all the positive experiences and challenges along your journey. I noticed that you were driving a newer model vehicle and wondering if you nationalized it or if it is just permitted for a short time only?

I moved down to Baja last year and the day before I left I went shopping at the Hoa Viet Market in Winnetka in the San Fernando Valley of LA for some non perishable curry pastes and spices. I'm glad you finally made the move there. I've seen many parts of Mexico, from the cities, to the mountains ,desert, and east coast and west coast beaches. Thank you so much JR. I initially didn't want to do the video as I am a low profile type of person but decided to do it in hopes that it could help inspire another to make the move. So thanks for sharing that and that alone makes this video well worth it. Cheers and all the best to your future journey down here!
Welcome to Nayarit Bro, glad it was your choice, hope you can explore more.
👏🏼
Right on bro, thank you. Looking forward to the exploration! ✌
Mexico and Mexicans rock. We have been coming here for 27 years and it is still a very special place. If you can, why would you still live in a major city in the US.
I'm so jealous. You're living my dream life. I hope to do the same next year.
Thanks for this video! ❤
Gracias!

Thank you, I really appreciate that!
Nice video Jason thanks. It brought back many memories as we used to spend the winters in Terralta 3. We also liked to watch the cows and horses behind our place also. It looks like they may have completed those 3 abandoned condos near the entrance. Enjoy your new home.
Yes! Appreciate that! Coffee whilst cows and horses are a grazing....Let's go!
Brother OG Charlie...those hammocks tho with the ocean and mountain views with that ocean breeze...forget about it! Las Brisas in the house! Lol Ohhh man. Much respect for the researching. Your due diligence will pay off my og brother. Will do and peace out mi hermano. Saludos 🙏✌
@@Ebbandjayflo Gracias Jason. Mi corazon esta en Bucerias. See ya soon 🇲🇽
Congratulations on pulling the trigger on your dream home in Mexico Jason. Look forward to seeing you around town.

Congratulations buddy, that was a very good decision, Mexico it’s beautiful
Gracias amigo. It's already paying hefty dividends!
Hola Jason! just wondering how you are feeling being in Mexico after this much time has passed?
Gotta go!! 😎🌊✌
@@Ebbandjayflo thank you for the great response. I am bringing two dogs and am worried about them adjusting and finding someone to check on them when I am out and about but I"m sure that will all work out. I really appreciate you taking the time to respond and I feel pretty confident this will be great but the waiting part is taking its toll on me. So glad to hear it is getting better and better each day.
Wow wow wow, hello there. I’m from Bellevue Washington and thinking of moving to Cabo San Lucas México. I’m so proud of you that you did it, how wonderful is that. I am so excited about the future. Have a fantastic weekend 😅
We appreciate the Love Alonda! Great to hear from more local peeps in western washington who have the same thoughts and desires...You will make it happen no doubt!
Welcome congratulations , you will do great here with all your work experience ,been here 40 years in the Nayarit area never thought of going back ,permanent resident makes it very easy you can work for someone else or open a business . Best of luck
Great to hear and thank you so much!
Enjoy your new experience in Bucerias, Great pad-awesome purchase!
I appreciate that, thanks!
Good luck to you and your little dog ❤
Gracias! ❤
Gracias
Amazing!! Sending love and good vibes from Federal Way, Wa! Your an inspiration Jason!! YOLO! ❤
Ahhh, kind words and very cool of you for saying that Paris! Thanks you so much! Federal Way has all kinds of great food! YOLO mi amiga! Salud 🍻❤
Thanks 😉
Well said 🍻
Congratulations to you!❤
You need to settle down now😊
Nice video Paul! Nice narration from Jason!
Thank you!
Wonderful!! Congratulations 🎉
Gracias 🙏🏼
Gracias!
Bucerias near to puerto vallarta and punta mita
Correct
Excellent videos 📹 congratulations!!!.... Keep sharing fantastic histories. 👏
Gracias!
I’ve been to Bucerias many times. Great place
Yes 👏🏼
Good decision
It must take a certain kind of mindset to be able to do this. A couple of my friends dreamed of living on Guam for nearly 30 years. Traveled back and forth several times, etc. to be sure it was the right thing, then sold everything and moved. Two months later they were back because they said they never could get over the feeling of wondering why their vacation was going on for so long.
That’s pretty funny.
Interesting. That seems like one hec of a great problem if you ask me! 😎
Thats good man hope everything works out well and you are living Happy in Mexico
Thanks for sharing
Fantastic video as always. Congrats Jason.
Thank you!
Agreed. Paul's flow is great to be around and he is a genius behind the camara and with his producing skills. Thanks Jodi!

Best of luck to you! Thanks for watching 😃
Much appreciated and thank you! Yeah I feel you with the craziness that is happening up north everywhere. Very sad indeed. Best of luck and go get you a slice of some Mexico City! Exciting! Saludos
In Mexico city I recommend Coyoacán area
What a nice guy. Thank you for great info. Good success to you!
Gracias!
Congrats!!!!!!
Thank you for sharing.
Enjoyed this video
Thank you 🙏
Hi Jason and thank you for sharing your story, it is quite refreshing to hear all the positive experiences and challenges along your journey. I noticed that you were driving a newer model vehicle and wondering if you nationalized it or if it is just permitted for a short time only?
Thank you. Jason didn’t nationalize his car. It’s attached to his visa.
My oldest sister moved back to Mexico about 6 yrs ago. We are Mexican but we were raised in the states. Her and her family love living in Mexico. Her daughter perfers living in MX vs the US. If you have the means Mexico is a great place to live. It's beautiful and relaxing.
Thanks for sharing.
Congratulations Jason! Mexico is a beautiful country! Very happy for you and all who found themselves in such a welcoming and cultural rich place. 😍
@@TingTingalingy No, but several years ago, I had the experience of visiting Mexico three separate times. (Cancun, Playa del Carmen and Puerto Vallarta) Cheers! ❤
Thanks Paul, Great video!
Thank you! Thanks for watching 😃
Love your video very informative
Thank you!
Very cool guy!
Yes 👏🏼
Another great video!

@@MovingToMexiCo Hey Paul.
Do you know if you continue East past the Paul's cafe site, is there hiking up in those hills/mountains?
Hey, congrats, you look happy and very at peace! Hope to get there one day myself man!
Ohhh man, feeling very at peace and thank you very much! You will make it happen friend! 😎
Lol of COURSE Tacoma enjoys his life there…he looks like he’s at least part Chihuahua! Glad you’re loving your new life…I think I’d do it in a heartbeat…
Thanks for sharing! 😃
Thanks Sue. Yes, Tacoma is enjoying the sun, laid back vibes, great culture and carne asada lol He is half chihuahua and half italian greyhound. Cheers amiga
Nice place
Thank you 🙏
Great video Paul!
Thank you Sachiko! 😃 ♥️
Welcome to mexico
Gracias! 🙏
Nice...thanks for the video! Beats the "Tacoma Aroma" LOL.
I'm rolling Hahaha You already know amigo! 😂
Yes, I'll be coming to Mexico, but first I want Jason's family recipes. 😎
Hehe. He makes a really good brisket sandwich.
I moved down to Baja last year and the day before I left I went shopping at the Hoa Viet Market in Winnetka in the San Fernando Valley of LA for some non perishable curry pastes and spices. I recently made a big batch of some chicken curry in my well used and seasoned wok and my Mexican neighbors loved it so much they are all demanding an encore! One of my best friends in Florida married a Thai women who is the most incredible chef. I will have to pick her brain for when I run out. I have to learn her recipe for Tom Kha Gai. Don't wait the time is never just right. Best move I've ever made! Buena Suerte!
Hahaha It's hard to beat some SE asian food whilst here in Mexico as it is harder to come by. Smoked brisket bahn mi will be in full effect next season lol
@@Ebbandjayflo At least you're still in a country that appreciates cilantro...
Thank you Paul!!!
De nada! Thanks for watching.
I'm glad you finally made the move there. I've seen many parts of Mexico, from the cities, to the mountains ,desert, and east coast and west coast beaches. I never made it to the Puerto Vallarta area. I have a friend from my church who his house here in the North East of the USA. He bout a 2 bedroom house with roof top deck, in Bucerias. He seems to enjoy it and he's fluent in Spanish. Good luck with you home and life and food. I hope you know and or learning Spanish.
Thanks for sharing
Right on, thanks Alex. Necesito aprender mas pero poco a poco.
Lucky u 👍😁🏝☀️

Wow I always thought it was too dangerous to drive through Mexico from the US. It’s eye opening to see this video. My husbands Colombian, we’ve driven all throughout Colombia, but he won’t even go to Mexico bc he believes it’s too dangerous, like Colombia in the 90’s. This video changed my perspective a bit.
It is still dangerous in some areas.
@@albertrivieramaya7953 Yes, agreed. It can be dangerous in some areas just like in the United States. Do some homework and have a plan when traveling. Use common sense as well but the people overall here in Mexico are quite amazing and beautiful.
Being Colombian he was afraid in mexico?! Colombia is still dangerous. A lot of RUclipsrs travel through Mexico in vans, campers….etc.
@@alalesc3796 Hes never been to Mexico, he’s only seen the news!!! Where in Colombia is it dangerous?! It’s only dangerous in the very remote areas where there still is guerrilla, where much of my husbands family still lives, but most of Colombia is NOT dangerous anymore.
@@LovelyLaureness just to give you a real perspective on this matter, Mexico is full of Colombians living in Mexico and all of them say this all the time, Colombia is very dangerous in Mexico you feel safe. I’m not going to argue with the ones that know how it is.
You're living my dream.
😃
Buenos Dias Paul
Muy buenos dias!
🎉 viva Mexico 🇲🇽
🇲🇽
Congratulation on your achievement
I always thought it would be dangerous to drive through Mexico
It is dangerous, according to the US State Dept.
It's as dangerous as driving anywhere else anything can happen anywhere on earth.
Thanks for sharing your story 😊
Thanks for watching 😃
Thanks Les!
For that price you get a dog house in LA or San Diego, congrats... 🐶🐶
Gracias 🙏🏼
Hahaha True that Hector. Gracias amigo
