    Man you got me hype to eat eggs! I was only looking for someone to elaborate on the distinctions between cagefree, free range etc. I appreciate all the nutritional information and knowing which eggs are the most ethical going forward. Thank you

      I saw another video of a different farm, the chickens would actually huddle together and sleep to share body heat in colder areas.

    You’re right in that we don’t necessarily need to eat cholesterol in order to raise cholesterol in our blood. There is good and bad cholesterol - and there are many factors that influence levels of both. However, our body makes the good cholesterol from our food and we don’t need to eat eggs for this process to happen. Just as we can get lutein from other foods such as spinach and kale, as you so rightly mentioned, we don’t need eggs to fulfil all of our nutritional needs. Nobody is dying of a cholesterol deficiency. I have been a vegan for 8 years and have as of yet never suffered from lack of cholesterol in my blood.
    This is a great video on educating people on the right eggs to buy (I insist that we only buy organic pasture-raised eggs for my boyfriend). But let’s not get carried away with the idea that we all need eggs to be healthy.
    Just thought I would add a plant-based person’s perspective. Thanks for the great & informative video though, and highlighting the suffering of factory farms chickens!!

      maybe one day you'll mature into a carnivore - molluscs, crustaceans, fish, eggs, dairy & meats! no need to torture and kyll innocent plants!

      You are correct, we don't *need* eggs, but if you're looking at it from an efficiency standpoint eggs are far better than most, if not all foods. One could probably survive solely on eggs.

      @@feliciavale4279 People are also able to survive and thrive solely on plants. And as plants are more nutrient diverse and better for the environment and my wallet, I know what the obvious choice is. 😊

      @@Adelehalsall I'd encourage you to do a bit of research. Here's something to get you started. Go and take a look at a 5+ year vegan then go and look at someone who has been carnivore or keto for 5 years and ask yourself who looks better?

      @@feliciavale4279 Hmm, okaaayy... well I've been vegan for 9 years, so I can surely use myself in that experiment. Do you have a 5 year keto/carnivore person I can compare myself with?
      Using external looks to judge whether someone is healthy isn't always a good method. People can look healthier with make-up, lighting, the right clothing etc. If both people are makeup-free and wearing little clothing, then sure maybe that would give some insight, and then I'd also want to see blood markers too, see what thety say.
      I have spent the last decade researching nutrition - spent a lot of time on it when making the decision to go vegan and then for years thereafter. I am always open to learning something new and learning things I did not know before, as new science emerges. I do realise keto diets can have some health benefits when compared to a standard western diet but so far I have not seen anything that points to them being healthier than a whole food plant-based diet. Keto diets are certainly not good for the environment either. After all these years, I continue to go with what the science tells me. And that continues to be a plant-based diet.

      they are if *you* eat them, but birds have no problems with them and convert their nutritional value into eggs - just like ruminants convert the nutritional value of plants into meat

    Pure Facts! Me? 3 eggs/day, organic pasture raised and regenerative raised. The only egg better is one you can get direct from a farmer that has his hens do only pasture raised, Chickens are carnivores not vegetarian. A mouse in the field is fair game.

    If you can’t get high cholesterol from diet then how/why do so many people have high cholesterol levels?!

      Hi Peter, our liver makes over 80% of the cholesterol our body requires and the more you eat, the less your liver has to make, which is why dietary cholesterol (such as from egg yolks) is no longer a major concern. That is not to say that diet doesn’t play a part, but it’s typically excessive carbohydrates and sugar that disturb one’s cholesterol and triglycerides profile the most. Stress can also be a factor in elevated cholesterol levels because we need cholesterol to produce stress hormones so the liver adapts by increasing cholesterol levels. Hope this helps!
