My heart is full ❤ Those are some lucky chickens to have Gail. Also her farm is very natural, looks like no overgrazing, no "neat" rows, just letting nature do it's beautiful best. You are fantastic Gail!
just came across your video by coincidence, I was looking for free-range chicken farming when your video pop up, love the content, I am planning on starting my own commercial chicken free-range farming and was doing research about chicken free-range farming, and she is right, the world food production is becoming more and more industrialized, there are less conventional farmers than ever before, thanks for the info.
Hi there ! I would reach out to Gail directly. She sells at then Phila Rittenhouse farmers market but I am unsure if she sells anywhere else. Otherwise, you can travel to her farm to pick them up! I have friends who do that once every 2-3 months =) Have an EGGCELLENT Thanksgiving!
wow watching from dubai , and i really enjoy watching so inspiring , i just started too, a freerange chicken and decided to be a farmer after my 25yrs abroad life . looking forward to serve a very good egg and chicken meat in the comunity family and friends
I give her eggs to people as a gift. They think I'm nuts until they taste them! Just had a friend call raving about them and wanting to know how to get more.
Chickens will eat comfrey leaves. Very healthy for them too. Comfrey has LOADS of calcium in the leaves. I told a little kid that white milk comes from white cows and chocolate milk comes from brown cows. Wonder if they ever figured it out by now?
@@TheWellnessKitchenista Same kid different time - I handed the kid a seed packet of flowers (all the same kind). Asked them to plant some seeds in one spot, so they did. When they were in bed asleep, I went to where they planted the seeds, dug a hole, then planted the flower plant of the same kind the seeds were. Next day, the kid came to look and I hollered "WOW! You're a great gardener!". For the next week they went around doing a little kid dance of sorts with hands on the hips chanting "I'm a great gardener!". Ahh little kids can be sooooo much fun....
Looks wholesome but restricted to the few who can afford it. There is a reason for factory farming to feed the voracious appetites of the total population - completely unsustainable with backyard chickens. Why feed your family such copious amounts of artery-clogging cholesterol? Why don't you eat the peppers and sunflower seeds instead?
Less nutritious. And there is an argument to be made that the chickens are super stressed so in turn, there is some hormone changes in the egg that we ingest. Of course, that is conjecture. You have to do the BEST you can!

If you're buying eggs from the store, look for the term "pasture raised."
Thank you!

Lol I think that’s it…. Long Island reds. That’s all I know. They’re not mine.
