It was stated that the 2 string barrels aren't adjustable, but they might be. They're held by 2 screws instead of 1 like on a Tele. Shortening 1 will change barrel angle and intonation.

The very first two PRS prototypes they took to dealers to get initial orders, one had dots and one had birds. PRS themselves expected orders mostly for dots. The orders were mostly for birds. I think the PRS sounds great. But the bird inlays just seem garish on this style of guitar.
They should make more guitars with dot inlays. Bird inlays just aren't for me.
The very first two PRS prototypes they took to dealers to get initial orders, one had dots and one had birds. PRS themselves expected orders mostly for dots. The orders were mostly for birds.
So dots might be what you prefer (and what PRS expected to be more popular), but the majority of the market wants birds.
@@PaulCooksStuff The bird inlays itself looks really nice, however when I play one it's just too distracting to my eyes for some reason. Not sure why to be honest.
@@kunkmiceter how the hell do you look at the front of your fretboard while playing? Your posture must be obscenely bad.
That is a bad tele, the butterscotch one. Perhaps not a good setup, not in tune like the PRS. Maybe compare with a good one?
It without a doubt sounds just like a NF53, lol The body mods and finish are killer. The price is obscene. Hang on to your Tele if you love it because this is NOT a Tele. Close? LOL, LOL, LOL.
Ok boomer
Classic PRS sales department trying to sell like its the only guitars in existence...
For me, I don´t like it! Especially the price! Almost $3k and no hardcase? What are they thinking?
3700 in europe
@@EytschPi42 Wow, I like it even less now! That is a crazy price for a guitar that, even if the price were more in line with Fender, will not seel anywhere near what Fender sells!
Ghost white maple neck with those ugly bird inlays that look like they were drawn on with a sharpie. This guitar is $6,000 in Australia. That's a hard no. I;m sure its built perfectly, plays perfectly etc. But no. SO many other single cut guitars you could get instead for that price point.
Leo Fender turned in his grave, I think. Whatever this ugly looking and sounding guitar thinks, it is, it certainly is no Tele!
Heavily overpriced for such a design- and sound-fail, at least for me.
For so much money I easily get two USA Teles, not to speak of a lot of other possible options.
PRS never had much affinity to Strats and Teles, so cobbler stick to your last! This obviously is not your territory!
one sounds alive and the other sounds like a prs
It’s always funny seeing gatekeepers out themselves. Well done !
@@StupidGuitar just an opinion 🙏
@@Bjornandhisguitar nah it’s a troll and you know it but by all means deflect.
no bleep at 3:58???🤣
My question is why? PRS isn't making a tele here, it's just something else. Like a great movie and someone decides they can make a better version with a Part 2 and it flops at the theater. Some things should be left alone if you can't improve it, and this is one of those things! The Silver Sky and now this....Paul Reed Smith must be bored.. Nice video as always.
Henning, I think you need one of those stupid "be nice" things before people post. Lots of folks snapping bad on everything and each other for no reason .
Every guitar that needs string changes needs locking tuners. So literally all of them.
Nah
NF= Not Fricker
Improving on a Tele isn’t really the message they should have gone with.
One more comment - As you're there at Sweetwater, you're part of the crowd of influencers who are promoting PRS' latest. Not a fair comparo, despite your efforts to appear critical. Sorry bud, but even the silliness of grabbing an out of tune Tele is an obvious effort to elevate the PRS. I'm no Fender fanboy, I've also owned several core PRS (though my '00 Singlecut is all that remains). I just like legitimate reviews. This ain't one of them IMO.
Hey… you see what you wanna see… we had no time whatsoever, so the Tele just wasn’t tuned… thinking this was deliberate is giving us way too much credit. Sometimes things happen that are out of our control.
PRS made a guitar with a body like a Tele and stuck their ugly headstock on it. Nice try!
most cheap guitars have the scarf joint, so if I buy a premium instrument it better not have one... and I want a one-piece body.
All cheap cars have rubber tires so if I buy a luxury car I don’t want rubber tires… oh wait…
@@StupidGuitar not a good comparison, that would be like all guitars having strings to what you said. However, a cheaper way to make something shouldn't be found on a high end instrument.
@@burrellinvestments5952 I mean your comparison was stupid so I countered with an equally stupid one. A scarf joint can also arguably be stronger. Gotta find some reason to hate on the guitar I guess… can’t just let it exist for what it is
@@StupidGuitar I don't think that it was stupid, a legit reason I'm not over paying for an instrument that corners have been cut on. I don't hate it. I just don't like it and I'm not gonna buy one. I'm having something custom build for $1,200 way better.
@@burrellinvestments5952 lol if you think a $1200 custom build is the same. Also no way you’re paying fair labor cost and getting an American made guitar with quality parts for that cost. Thanks for proving your opinion null and void. I can’t even. Thanks for the laugh.
Paul has probably said derisively "kids today can't even be bothered to wind a tuning peg" at least once in the past 5 days.
Locking tuners, bro. Even Ibanez puts them on their non-floyds.
Meh. I got several guitars all with non locking tuners. Not a single one with tuning stability issues and I tend to bend a lot and player heavier riffs.
@@StupidGuitar Not about tuning stability. About restringing convenience.
@@pickledparsleyparty it’s really that hard for people to make a small look? The difference in time and convenience is like MAYBE 30 seconds total for all 6 strings.
@@StupidGuitar Not hard. Inconvenient. On the other hand, what's the point of non-locking tuners?
@@pickledparsleyparty what’s the point of anything? Think they partially went for looks here as the vintage style tuners tend to be non locking but who the hell knows. Actually parts cost is negligible.
Seems like a great guitar but it’s too expensive compared to Fender. I will wait until the SE version is released.
If you play Fender and PRS, where the hell is a Gibson? You F*...., No sorry, but I would like to see that. Becouse it is
authentic. XD
Nope
The prs sounds good, but it’s just so dam ugly 😢 sorry prs this is a fail 👎🏽 please fix the looks and make this a great guitar 😊
PRS makes a new Dentist/ Doctor guitar. Thanks but no thanks.
Myles Kennedy MD?
Edgelord makes an edgelord comment…. News at 11
Henning, I get the copy thing. But do you realize how many copies of 3 guitars are out there and how many people made a shape similar? Please get off the train. It has left the building in 1998 with Napster. We all know what that did for the music industry. PRS made a company with a strat shape in 1985 more or less. Hes stuck to that shape until 2010 when he brought out a LP copy. Can we not get over the wheel? Who invented it? Cause many people made round things the shape of a wheel. Get my point. Get off the train. Nobody cares in 2023. PRS WON the lawsuit with Gibson over the LP shape (Tremonti), FENDER WILL NOT SUE FOR A TELE SHAPE. EVEN FEDERAL COURTS DONT AGREE WITH YOU AND AT THE END OF THE DAY, THATS WHO MAKES THE RULES. Live with it!
I am Notventils that train. I have no problem with hardware. I do have a problem when people copy things in software because it gets copied and shared by the millions.
That guitar sounds and looks terrible. It's like a guy in 1981 had a drink idea to cut a seats guitar neck off and put on a fender..
Tele out of tune awfully .
No they did not.
That’s hideous. And abomination of a tele.
And it sounds like a lp more than a tele.
That’s no tele.
It’s not even close to one in tonality.
Let’s be real.
Nope...not a tele
At that price you would expect a guitar that is free from fault at least construction-wise. But this one has a huge bug!
I never had a guitar that had three intonation points in a line. It is just not possible. With that kind of bridge you will never be in tune.
How poor is that for a three and a half grands guitar?
Shame on you, PRS!
Better learn your business first before you ask a fortune.
Your ignorance is showing. Funny as they went over the tuning I’m the announcement video. Shame on you for not doing your research before raging like an entitled boomer. Better learn to research first before you look like a fool in a comments section.
Clearer, more defined 😂😂😂,actually thinner sounding, boring character, not half twang, fullness and character of telecaster. And the wimner is, of course, Fender.
