Matt, I follow several car channels, I have to tell you working off your garage, and basiclly doing it all yourself, is what make this very relatable to the common man. Great Job!!
Happy to hear that, thanks! I’m just a dude in a garage lol.
Exactly! I get bored of the “This broke but the Car Wizard/Ninja fixed it” videos on other channels. Much rather see someone work on their own vehicles and document their struggles 😂
Well done Matt, all that hard work paying off. Now enjoy driving that bad boy, it looks 👌🏼
Congrats on 50k. The work you have been putting in is speaking for itself
Thank you! Grateful for all 50k!
Glad you got it figured out in the end. I know the feeling of going to sleep not knowing if you’ve fixed the problem or if you’re ever going to fix it 🙃
I think you mean the feeling of no sleep because you keep thinking about what it could be
Victory! Doesn’t it feel better to fix it yourself vs paying for it. Thank for the perseverance.
For sure!
Congratulations! You have a lot of patience. I would have dropped the motor a long time ago to find out what was going on 😂
If I had a hat I would tip it to you. Your perseverance has paid off.
Ah mate, fantastic to see your 😄again! I'm so invested in this project with you, we all are! All the best from England.
you saved a fortune matt well done , porsche will give you a job awesome work
I admire your tenacity. I would have taken the engine out . 17:18
In a Porsche?? No way. Not for anything other than a complete rebuild. They have to be dropped from the bottom.
I enjoy watching your videos. It motivated me to work on my own car.
Puts me off!
Glad to hear it!
It is great to see that smile back, well done fixing the car yourself and for the patience you have shown persevering with this issue.
What a ball-ache! Admire your perseverance in getting the problems solved.....well done mate.
The job you have done is not something everyone can or should try to do. However, not giving up, is an e ample we can all follow. Very happy for you!
Been following this series and its been an amazing time!!
Thank you!
Congrats Matt. I have enjoyed this series and love the tenacity you put towards your builds. Don’t give up, we support you buddy.
So happy for you Matt, awesome to see that it's sorted and now you can really enjoy it. Don't ever sell it!
Congratulations Mat, all your hard work & perseverance has paid off at last!
Now you can relax a bit & enjoy the real performance a 996 turbo offers. Well done!👍👍
Well done - persistence paid off. Enjoy the drive!
Good for you!!! That was a long haul, but you did it!! I am so happy for you!!
So freaking awesome man! Good job persevering! Way to ride that rollercoaster to the end and not give up. 👏 👏 👏
What a journey. Amazing work!
2:08 ordered my shirt AND hoodie about a month ago and love it 👌.
Thanks for the support!!
I'm proud of you, Matt. Persistence pays
Thank you!
Matt, proud of you for your persistence and perseverance sir! Nothing wrong with consulting with experts, but your 'gumption' is encouraging and inspiring. Keep it up!
Thank you!
You lost some weight with this car bro 😂
Thanks God you fixed the leak
Awesome perseverance Matt. Well done! Love your work. These are a decently powerful car. Glad you can now enjoy the whole experience.
Just one comment having chased vacuum leaks myself, zip ties don't give constant pressure on small vacuum lines, I prefer little clamps that prevent popping off of lines, otherwise you will be doing this again in a few months.
Dude yes ✊🏻 ive been routing for you the whole time...good thing you have power ratchets and stuff disassembling it so many times lol
True!
Well done Mat. Greatest respect for not lighting up the car😅
lol!
Matt, you inspire me, I do have a 996 Turbo Cabrio that I bought new in 2004 and now I will start to work on it myself. My car was brought to 1.1 bar around 2008 and run like a Swiss watch since then.
Awesome, glad to hear it! Wish mine was at 1.1 bar lol.
Well done! Persistence pays off!
That man deserves a beer!- congratulations Sir......winner winner chicken dinner.
haha, agreed!
Matt ive owned a wide range of cars and diesel trucks. Which is what i have now! Big psi numbers, anytime your working with any turbo lines, boots, connectors etc. The secret is strongest hairspray you can find. Slather the pipes and boots before you connect then clamp. Seriously im hitting 32 psi and take my stuff apart and reassemble never had one issue. Hairspray is the secret lol devin niemela the evo king taught me that little hack.
Someone else told me about that trick too haha. Haven’t tried it myself yet.
Watching since the beginning and I was almost as excited as you. Congrats on 50k bro.
Thanks so much!
Yes bro, getting it done! Glad you got it sorted. Now for some exhaust tips :D
Next vid!
Congrats Matt, that was an ordeal for you but you got it fixed in the end! It's now a supercar again!
Great news Matt.Enjoy that boost!👍
Victory is sweet!!! Congratulations!
Awesome job! I think we've all been there at some point scratching our heads and it all being very frustrating. Happy you pushed forward and got it fixed! Loving the vids and channel man! Keep it up!
Nice job for sticking at it. My E39 540 used to suffer from massive vac leaks so I know the pain.
The worst! I had an E39 540i 6 and it was a POS lol.
Congrats, man!!! In a strange way, your work made me wanna get a 996 before people get over the egg lights and start liking them again.
People kind of like them now.
@@matt13ross Oh, I mean six FIGURES like them.
Lol
Man that was a journey to say the least, great work Matt and now I to can deal with Porsche Air Injection lol. But seriously this was a fun one and the car turned out way better. Can't wait to see what you plan next.
Congrats Matt! Shes finally running strong👍
Awesome man… glad you fixed it.
Good job! Keep walking!
4:59 Napsolutely? So you were trying to say none absolutely or absolutely none 😂😂😂
Who knows, I was drained from this car lol.
man thats the thing ab cars, it can be so mind numbingly frustrating at times to the point you have to physically walk away but somehow it always ends up being worth it
It is said that in his later years, Leonardo DaVinci refused to work in his shop without a C4 and full chest and arms pump. Really unleashes the outside-the-box thinking.
Lol
That’s awesome. Glad you got it sorted
Yes!!!!! Awesome news. Some serious effort that. Well done. Now go and enjoy 😎
Awesome sauce!! Glad you got it figured out. Bet that feels REALLY good!! Also congrats on 50K subs.
Does feel great, and thanks!
Congrats! Great work!
That Doug comment actually made me LOL
I do love his videos lol.
Bravo! You finally got it!
I can relate! Fixing issues is a pain in the a**
Long time coming. Congrats!
Fantastic.. well done Sir!!
OMG, Watching this I just wanted to jump thru the screen and help you lol :)
Awesome job, it's really coming together.
congrats !! I know the pains when these are wrong. But when they are right, its the best car to drive for sure !!!
When you go after more boost. Just keep in mind that there is a boost cutoff (for engine safety) at 1.4 BAR I believe
Now make it go fast !!!!
Gonna need a clutch first!
@@matt13ross If its weak, I could see that. I ran K24 hybrids without a clutch at 1.4 bar. Car was a beast and super reliable. Never had an issue !!
My clutch is original I'm betting and it slipped when I overboosted months back at 1.1 bar in 4th.
Nice job, buddy!! So rewarding when everything FINALLY comes together!
You got that right!
Happy for you!!!
Perseverance! You did it!
Congratulations Matt, sending ❤❤ and support from Portugal 🇵🇹
congrats.. never give up! I knew it was something behind the engine! :) /BMW owner lol
Yup!! Lol
Well, done! Patience of a Saint. All that assembly and disassembly, bet you wish you'd have just dropped the engine!😂
Nah, I didn't want to drop the engine. The car would be down for a long time with a bunch of upgrades. I just want to enjoy it as is for a bit.
Yes dude congrats!
Seriously chuffed for you, truly you have the patience of a saint, that is unless there is lots of edited swearing that we never see or hear 😂
Congrats 😎
LOTs of stuff is edited out lol.
@@matt13ross I KNEW it 🤣😂
I would have burnt it ages ago by now bud well done 💥
Hahah
Hell yeah! Love a good garage victory.
If you ever pull the motor, you can do a huge amount of vacuum hose reduction. Basically can get rid of half the hoses, solenoids, and check valves as well as the secondary air
That would need some type of delete tune correct?
@@matt13ross yes need to tune the secondary air codes out. You can still do a large amount of reduction and leave the secondary air in as well. I really don't know why they did a bunch of it the way they did. On my personal car, which is on a stand alone, I only have 3 vac lines. Fpr, wastegates, and diverted valves.
Much better! I'll look into that when it comes to a tune.
Way to persevere, Matt!
To be honest that may be the longest running 10mm in history because normally the 10mm disappears within an hour of opening the package lol.
I’ve had it for so long too!!
And of course greetings from Germany.
I really like the content you are creating
Cheers Joe
Well done! I also saw reverse lights!! Nice!
They sometimes work lol.
Man I am so happy for you! You made my day by getting this sorted out! I knew you would get it! Enjoy all that boost!
Way to earn the rewards for persevering!
Think of all the dimes you save when car idles. 😊
I found you because of the hood stack colorado and have really been enjoying your content love seeing the Porsche great stuff
Haha, that was my first video to 100k views! Forever ago, but thanks for sticking around!!
Thumbs up if you’ve ever dropped a socket deep in the engine bay. Glad it’s fixed…til next week.
Congratulations you deserve it
Thanks!
Well done sir!
Congratulations! Now time for some mods!
Yes!
that is such a good feeling. well done.
Praise God I knew you would get it bro 😎
This car is turning into a beast
Wait till I start the real mods!
Persistence pays off! Now time for you to fit the new suspension!!
Yes!
Definition of persistence!
Well done!
Fuck yeah dude! Now time for a tune! :D
Clutch first. I think mine is about done lol.
Congrats!
Just saw a photo of you under "persistence" in the dictionary. How good to get a win!
HAHA!
👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 been there, got the T-shirt. I zip tied my vacuum lines too!
Whoop great work!
Congrats, 2001 911 Turbo came with 415hp/tq so that should be quite a handful if it's all there. I remember people getting out of control with these they were so powerful. You should consider finding a garage princess on Copart and getting the entire interior, rear lights, all the good parts and putting them on yours... esp if it's your dream car... then you can get it up to insane HP/TQ if you want, that engine is a race engine with a proven track record. Check out this 850HP 996T "A 700HP Porsche 996 Turbo is a Hellcat's Worst Nightmare." New turbos and stuff to get that on race gas, 750HP on 93 octane... that's too much power. You probably know all this.
Yea I don't want to ruin it's street drivability. For now, 400-450 hp is great. A tune will be around 500. Maybe in the future, larger turbos and aim for 600, but nothing crazy.
I'm very happy for you. enjoy it
I have a 2005 vw touareg 4.2l v8 i love the car and driving it but it has alot of vacuum leaks cause of the plastic lines which crack
Job well done 🎉
Congrat-u-freakin-lations Matt!!!!!! Well done. Persistence paid off big time. Now go drive that beauty and enjoy that awesome car.
Love your videos!!!
Enjoying it a bunch lately!
