Is one really better than the other? Sometimes you really wanna know if curly or straight hairstyles suit you better. But you just do not know how to judge, if you are going to look good in either of these hairstyles. And this debate never ends… So in our video today, we are going to help you settle this debate by looking at different aspects, from face shapes, facial features to personal styles... Great video but there are two important things I would add:
a) distinction between curly and wavy hair.
b) regarding the 12:02 the hair thinness section, it's important to note that aside from the wave/curl volume, the celebrities also often have they hair extentions to make their hair look thicker. Viewers should keep this in mind if they are looking to achieve a similar result with just their natural hair
Kind of funny how the roles reverse when we look at different races. Straight hair is seen as effortless, natural, and refreshing on these asian examples, while curly hair is seen as “done-up” and more mature. Meanwhile for me (a mixed African-American), when my hair is straightened or styled to look more wavy & have less volume, I look like I’m trying much harder, while letting my 3A/3B curly hair run wild and free makes me look so much more natural and effortless.
That's exactly what i was thinking and i had to click out of the video after that because i know this video pertains towards a different audience, i wish there was a version of this analysis for mixed/black/latina people that look like me so i can correctly figure this out.
As someone who was born with wavy/curly hair, straight hair always worsen my feature. It’s kinda sad that I’m stuck with one look forever.

I have afro texture and it honestly depends more on my outfit that day. If I'm wearing more form fitting I find I prefer my natural hair but if I'm wearing something layered or flowy I find I prefer my hair to be straight or in braids/faux locs? I think it has to do with my body shape more than my face :>

I'm the same. If there's a lot going on with my outfit, I pull it back so it doesn't distract from it. It's all about balance
doesn't it take a really long time to straighten or braid your hair? i feel like i personally couldn't achieve that in the time span i have i in the mornings

I don't straighten my hair often because I can't do it myself and I'm not paying to get it done consistently so if I want it straight I wear a wig but I feel like it depends on what I'm wearing. If I'm going for a cute, light elegant look or a casual look then I think natural hair is cuter. My face is rounder so straight looks weird on me. If my outfit is one that's not the usual look say a Kpop style like a beret, bright eye makeup and a different outfit I go for straight. I think straight or big natural look good on me for elegant. I do NOT think I look good with straight type wavy hair

I have a square/round face with small beady eyes too. But big curly hair idk either what am I supposed to do with it. Everyone keeps telling me I should get it straightened since it makes my face look fat.
@@tehreemraza123 Square face looks best with volume added to the top (eg a quiff) to add length to the face, and wavy or curly hair to soften the angles. Adding width looks bad so it's harder to have short very curly hair looking good if your hair is thick, length helps to weigh the curls down, half ups are a good solution to this as they take away the volume at the sides of the face making it look slimmer, keep some face framing curls
I wouldn’t consider a lot of those hairstyles as curly curly. Can you make a part two for people of color and actually have curly/coily hair textures?

@@alexjade4570 her videos are based off East Asian beauty standards , so it wouldn’t make sense to put curly/coily hairstyles. And honestly their hair isn’t that curly but it can still apply where you see fit.

My hair is bone straight. It used to go down to my hips, it's a pixie right now, and I've had it at every length in between. I find I'm a bit more masculine than most women in my mannerisms and that I like balancing it out with a feminine appearance. But I'm also very small in stature and find that long hair makes me look a bit off-balance.
So from all of this I think the best style for me will be a short and wavy one :)
I feel similar. I used to have a pixie, but I'm trying new things like a diagonal bob, now a straight one, and all the "bixie" middle steps. My mannerisms and fashion style are pretty carefree/laid back, but my hair has naturally a silky wave, and it feels so misplaced in the mirror lol I think my short and wavy hair has too much "feminine" energy, and I'm too lazy for straighten it everyday... Maybe a wild perm could be my answer? 🙏🏻

I wish u could make a video on making face smaller. Filling up cheek space specifically. I started wearing sunscreen religiously and my skintone is finally more even but now my cheeks look huge all the time. I dont have the option of cutting my hair to frame my face because i have a pixie cut 😭

I hate my 2C/3A curls, it’s literally the border of curly and wavy and I fucking hate it because I can’t take good care of it. It’s frizzy, I can’t brush it, looks ugly and I don’t want to straighten it because it’s prolly gonna ruin my hair’s health

Hiiii! I recommend a good leave in conditioner and a detangling brush! Don't brush your hair while its dry, do it while its wet so like in the shower or you can fill a spray bottle with water and style your hair like that! If the leave in conditioner doesn't take away all the frizz like you want it to you can also get some gel to help keep your curls without them getting frizzy
I reccomend IndiaBatson on RUclips. Sounds like you have similar hair to me. Gel does so much for my hair in reducing frizziness and knotting. I love just braiding my hair while it's wet too. When it dries its more wavy than curly, and it doesn't look as messy

I think if you're someone who has very curly hair or coils, it also depends on the curls themselves and how defined they are. In my experience, straight hair suits those who also suit hairstyles with non-defined curls, like afros, locs or blow-outs
just a note for myself!
i have a sharp and defined features (include sharp nose and jawline also high cheekbones). it seems my lower face slightly wider as well than my forehead. it explains why long wavy hair is TERRIBLE on me bc the attention is basically on lower one.
if i wanna have a long hair, make sure it's either STRAIGHT or HIPPIE CURL. or wavy but the upper one and not the under areas. and also, puffy + volume!!

i look best in a medium to short fluffy wolfcut/mullet. i have a small diamond face shape with a small and strong chin. my features are close together, i have big eyes, long lashes a straight nose and medium-thin lips. for those wt a face like mine i reccomend a wavy-straight s shape side bang with pointed sideburns as i personally like it best. straight bangs and skin-shaved sides of my hair always look awful on me especially since all my features are strong and my undereye troughs are deep .

I want to do my hair so badly, but everytime I try my hair just gets tangled. Like when I do half up and half down when I tie my hair it always manages to accidentally grab a few stray hairs and it tangled it all up and when I take it out to redo it it just rips a bunch of my hair out.

Dark brown wavy hair. I really like my hair, I just hate that it makes my hair frizzy in the humidity, but I've gotten used to it.
You may need a hair gel with a stronger hold. Personally my hair gets very frizzy when I need more hydration.
Do a strand test on your hair. Take a strand and pull it on either side. If it breaks right away then your hair has too much protein and you need to deep condition. If it stretches and stretches, and stretches you need protein, so you need deep conditioning with keratin. If it stretches a little then breaks, your hair is balanced.

Hi I have loose curls type 3a. Have you looked into getting a Rezo cut? There are some people on YT who have made videos on it. It works for wavy and curly hair and gives you lots of volume especially near the top of the head.
I have trouble with volume as well because my hair is thin. So when my hair is wet I divide the top section above my ears from the rest of my hair and use a brush to comb my hair upwards and away from my scalp. Then I use my fingers to comb sections to create small clumps. After I diffuse my hair upside down. It really helps with the volume.
