I'm so glad this is the top comment ;) Upvote, keep on rocking! Also... wouldn't it be cool if a fan cut and spliced this song with appropriate video from the show to make a fan made video? I'm not the one... to do it, not my skillset... but I'd love to see it done.
A Tea Time interview with Sully would be incredible. He’s intelligent and insightful and obviously a brilliant composer and musician. Would love to see you make that happen.
Godsmack are so underrated and extremely talented, I highly recommend seeing them in concert. There's zero drop in quality from their live performance compared to their albums. I hope Spiral, Hollow, Bleeding Me, Something Different, Generation Day, and Lighting up the Sky will be considered for future videos!
It's in my mind its all because of Sully. He's the most talented member and the man can play damn near every instrument. He blew me away when he played drums and did a like drum off vs. His drummer and I felt bad for their drummer Sully showed him up and it wasn't even close.
Hallow and Spiral are great showcases of Sully's talent. Godsmacks quality of sound live is as good if not better then the studio albums. All the fading of Sully in and out and left to right is all him moving away from mic and left to right. I've been to 6 Godsmack concerts and the one that displayed their raw talent was Godsmack acoustic. I was lucky enough to score tickets to a small venue big band concert in Tempe Arizona.
Sinner's Prayer, Broken Road, Avalon, heck just about any song from his solo Avalon album is good. I personally am partial to Broken Road and Sinner's Prayer.
Godsmack is one of the top bands of all time. Their music is sometimes hypnotic, sometimes hard driving and then sometimes just in your face hard rock!
Really good song. I am surprised you haven't reacted to "Unforgettable" yet, the theme of the video is music education. I think you would REALLY enjoy it!
I love this song and a fact I feel like anyone who loves it should know that : This song was inspired by Rush drummer Neil Peart's book Ghost Rider: Travels on the Healing Road. Godsmack lead singer Sully Erna used to be a drummer and is a huge fan of Peart. The book is about a road trip Peart took across the US on his motorcycle, which helped him deal with the tragic death of both his daughter and wife. When I found that out it really hit me in the heart strings.
I'm surprised she didn't bring that up, it definitely makes the song extra special if you know what happened to Neil. The book was hard to get through, but I'm glad I read it. All hail The Professor a.k.a Bubba a.k.a Pratt. ;)
Sully Erna also has a couple solo albums. My favorite is Avalon. That album is amazing and continues to show the talent Sully has from playing the piano to percussion to singing. Simply amazing. Especially the song until then and broken road. ❤
THis song was inspired by late Rush drummer Neil Peart's book Ghost Rider : Travels on the Healing Road. For your next Godsmack you should check out Under Your Scars
Your joy is my joy. Every one of your videos is like when you take a friend to a special vacation destination and you want so badly for them to like it as much as you. Then, you get there and see their eyes light up...they love it as much as you. Being able to experience so much of the music through your (new) eyes (ears) makes me smile and warms my heart.
I was in Boston for college for broadcast engineering. I had done lighting and sound previously as well. My roommates were recording arts majors. One of their profs was sound engineer at Mama Kins. They had a big gig coming up and needed help. Why not? Go home a few months later and I hear them on an Albany NY station. It was Godsmack! Really cool guys.
Was teetering on the edge pretty hard today, watching her geek out to music helps a lot. Then to hear she's as big of a Firefly fan as I am was awesome. You are definitely a treasure, your work here does immense good. Thank you sooo much for bringing me back from the brink so many times, more than you know
One of my all time favs in Godsmack's repertoire.. their acoustic album "The Other Side" belongs in every rock fan's collection.. if you don't have it you missing out..
I recently met Sully at a car show in Florida and he was the nicest person and happily took a photo with my cousin and myself. Sully Erna and Maynard Keenan will forever be the best voices from my childhood to adulthood
It's Funny that Godsmack used to play at a night club near my house years ago!! Hearing them Before them being one of the Best Groups gives me the chills!! 👍💯♥️♥️♥️🇺🇲 AMAZING!!!
If you like this I would recommend Sully Erna did a solo-project that has a very similar primal type feel to it. The album is called 'Avalon" and he did a show at (I believe) the Boston theatre that was fantastic
I might have been at this concert at Red Rocks. Seen them there a couple of times. Love me some Godsmack...seeing them next month in Denver. Can't wait!!!!!!!!!
Serenity is one of the songs that saved me. I’m so glad you decided to cover this one!! The way it’s done is absolutely incredible and I love the way the instrumentals mix with the vocals so much! Sully’s voice is so unique and beautiful!
I'm a huge sci-fi nerd, I've probably watched every sci-fi tv series ever broadcast in the U.S.. My two most favorite shows are Firefly and Farscape, with Out of Gas being my favorite episode.
I am absolutely so enthused that you analyzed Serenity. Been recommending it for a while. Also I need some upvotes on this from the Godsmack fans. Battala De Los Tambores. Please go watch it. It is Sully and Shannon having a drum battle and it is incredible.
This song was written after Godsmack's lead singer Sully Erna read a book called "Ghost Rider". The book was written by the drummer of the band "Rush", Neil Peart. The book is about Neil Peart's experiences of taking a road trip across America on a motorcycle to cope with the loss of his wife and daughter. Sully used this book as inspiration for the lyrics. Also, Godsmack is awesome and an excellent live band too.
Godsmack has always been my favorite band because I share the same struggles he has. The first time I ever heard the word for a certain drug it was because of my father telling me what voodoo was about. The sun symbol was my.first tattoo and his lyrics are etched into my soul forever! Asleep is my favorite song of his. It's the acoustic version of Awake!!! CHECK INTO THAT ONE!!!
Godsmack has been around for over 25 years. Their library of music is just hit after hit. Straight Out Of Line, When Legends Rise and Under Your Scars. Those are just 3 of their many, many great songs.
My last concert 8 years ago was with this band. I went to see the female vocalist Lisa Guyer the same summer. at a local Pub. Loved her show and her voice.
If you’re loving the voice element of Godsmack, you have to check out his solo album, Avalon. All of the videos show how the music was put together and it is still one of the most beautiful pieces to listen to. I recommend “7 Years” above all of the rest.
I would love for you to do a reaction to Godsmack, Touché live: featuring John Kosco in Las Vegas. The vocals and the harmonies in that performance are just top-notch. You would love it!
If you wish to hear more of Sully, like in voodoo and serenity you should check out his solo stuff. I really like his album called Avalon. And you can find some of it on RUclips
I love your reactions. I would love your opinion on Let The Truth Speak by Earthside ft Daniel Tompkins and Gennady Tkachenko-Papizh... you won't miss the strings 😉
I recommend checking out Testament for the first time and Return To Serenity would be a good introduction. I would say it was their most radio play song. But they have many others that are great as well.
This reaction video was simply sublime. Comforting, informative, interesting, and chilling. Thank you. I think you would also enjoy Godsmack - Shinedown. :)
They have a stripped down version of thier early hits called an evening with godsmack. It's a live one and think you could analyze it better. Keep up the great work❤
I think you'll like the song "My Light" by Sully Erna that is about the feelings he had when his daughter was born. Thanks for the wonderful video as always!
Having been a huge music fan and on the fringes of the business for many years, I have seen thousands of live performances across every genre imaginable, and I can truly say that Godsmack put on the best performance that I have ever seen live. I wasn't even a huge fan of theirs going into the show. I was just killing time at a music festival, but they absolutely blew me away. That was a show I will never forget.
I love when you react to Godsmack songs you always say how much you like the primal drumming and instruments. If you talk to Sully he will absolutely give credit to his favorite band Dead Can Dance for the inspiration in that primal feel to Godsmack songs.
Great vocal analysis. I would also recommend anything from Sully Erna's Live performance of "Avalon". Any tune! Different from Godsmack. More tribal drums and percussion and great vocal harmonies.
You just light up my days! A fellow Browncoat ... really not surprised just delighted and right there with you when I first heard the song myself. Godsmack and Firefly... best of the best. Just need to get Brandon Boyd in the mix somewhere! Lol.. thank you for doing what you do. Hugs!
As if I couldn’t like this woman anymore, she goes and drops a firefly reference. We’re all nerds here and I love it
I had no doubt that she was a Browncoat. None. I'd be curious to know if she has a favorite character in the ensemble.
this is the comment i was hoping to find! absolute yes!!!!!
she has to react to Tear Away by Drowning Pool
Browncoats forever!
I'm so glad this is the top comment ;) Upvote, keep on rocking!

I hope Spiral, Hollow, Bleeding Me, Something Different, Generation Day, and Lighting up the Sky will be considered for future videos!

I don't know that I'd call Godsmack underrated. They were big when this song came out. They were on the radio constantly.
Hallow and Spiral are great showcases of Sully's talent.

Seven years - Sully Erna
You would so think it's pure magic, perfection 💞
YES! It's so good!
Pure magic and perfection indeed! I need to see this reaction happen.
I hope she sees this
I second that
Sinner's Prayer, Broken Road, Avalon, heck just about any song from his solo Avalon album is good. I personally am partial to Broken Road and Sinner's Prayer.
I would love to see you interview Sully.
You think he would actually do it? He may think he's to good for that
@@amd1273 Why would he think that? Nothing he's ever shown or done has showcased that kind of personality.
Me too!
Yesssss interview sully that would be awesome!!
I've seen him in other interviews and he's not at all like that! He seems ery humble and loves to talk music!!
Also, Sully would be a fantastic interview if you ever had the opportunity. 🤘
Unforgettable is such an amazing song! Reallyyy looking forward to her listening to it and watching the video for it!
I be interested in her opinion of the work they did with the school children.
Yes. The song and video brought me to tears. I’m not exaggerating.
Came to say this. Great song and awesome video!

Didn''t watch the video to see if she brought this up (not much of a Godsmack fan), but I'm glad someone did!
Truth and Under Your Scars are two of my favorite Godsmack songs.
Yaasssssss! Check them out!!
Under your scars live is just a freaking vibe.
It is such a change of pace and shows his diversity as a singer.
I just heard Under Your Scars for the first time yesterday after watching this video. I watched the live video about 10 times back-to-back.
Sully Erna also has a couple solo albums. My favorite is Avalon. That album is amazing and continues to show the talent Sully has from playing the piano to percussion to singing. Simply amazing. Especially the song until then and broken road. ❤
That album was amazing to be part of. Glad you like it!
Firefly is when TV peaked. There will never be anything like it again.
Keep being amazing, you have no idea how much you are appreciated.
Very interesting, you used a Firefly reference while Serenity was being reviewed.
"I am a leaf on the wind. Watch how I soar." I needed this today. One of my favorites.
"I aim to misbehave" is a close second quote
Firefly
@@gumpf3812 "the 'special' hell!"
The only stickers I have on my car - a small logo from my university, and the first half of this quote.
"I am a leaf on the wind. Watch how I soar." This is also a very good mantra when trying to find Serenity in meditation.
Love Firefly and Serenity (the movie and this song). Thanks for nerding out with us!
THis song was inspired by late Rush drummer Neil Peart's book Ghost Rider : Travels on the Healing Road.
For your next Godsmack you should check out Under Your Scars
Opera Singer, Metal fan, AND a Brown Coat. She just keeps getting cooler.
I need to know if she's Horde or Alliance?
YES Unforgettable with the band kids will blow your mind

Oh my effing god! Is this what old feels like? I saw Godsmack live......23 years ago! 😮
You think you feel old, I worked at the post office when they mailed their DEMO CD’s out!
I remember going to WAAF's indoor beach party (won tickets from radio station) to see them in 1999
I was in Boston for college for broadcast engineering. I had done lighting and sound previously as well. My roommates were recording arts majors. One of their profs was sound engineer at Mama Kins. They had a big gig coming up and needed help. Why not? Go home a few months later and I hear them on an Albany NY station. It was Godsmack! Really cool guys.
I saw them at the Cow palace in San Francisco with Metallica about that time.
24 for me, @ Ozzfest 2000 😊
Agree, Firefly was amazing!! So was Serenity!! Wish they’d make another!
The new music video for "Truth" was really good, the emotion on his face is really powerful.
Great song
That song made me tear up. From just living through that same situation. I recently divorced my wife of 7 years for cheating.
Unfortunately based on Sullys personal experience, as are most of their songs.
Was watching that just before I made my way to this video.
This right here. The other side is a masterpiece.
Touché
Sully's first solo album is also quite good.
Is acoustic version of Re-Align from that album? Absolutely incredible
Came here to say exactly that
Godsmack--"Truth" to see a progression in Sully's voice. Really great!
@thecharismaticvoice Definitely need to check out "Truth(beneath your scars)". It's a vocal and lyrical masterpiece for Godsmack!!
Beautiful song
I saw them when I was about 15, they played Alice Cooper, a7x, Rob zombie and korn on Halloween so it was pretty crazy.
I recently met Sully at a car show in Florida and he was the nicest person and happily took a photo with my cousin and myself. Sully Erna and Maynard Keenan will forever be the best voices from my childhood to adulthood

The latest song called truth is really good and under another your scars, both are done with pianos in the beginning really cool
Yes! Firefly and Serenity are so good. Every year or two I binge watch Firefly and then finish with Serenity. Such good characters and lines.
You should check out Sully’s solo work! 7 years is a great song and Until Then is such an amazing song
I knew you'd love this one!! I've seen them live and they knock it out of the park every time
ps: Spiral or Voodoo would be great as a next Godsmack choice :)
One of the best shows I've ever seen was an all acoustic Godsmack show in Manchester, NH.
You really need to see them live their shows are incredible. I saw them earlier this week for the second time and they did not disappoint yet again
If you like this I would recommend Sully Erna did a solo-project that has a very similar primal type feel to it. The album is called 'Avalon" and he did a show at (I believe) the Boston theatre that was fantastic
Sully Erna is a great vocalist/lyricist. You should check out his solo songs as well as more Godsmack!❤
The song 7 Years, we need to see that!
I love them! So good live - I’ve seen them 7 times and have tix to my 8th show in May. ❤ they really care about their fans. It’s refreshing.

It sounds like Neil was a huge influence on Sully. He's made comments here and there.
Best live show you'll ever witness. Seen them 8 times and have never disappointed.

If you want to do a fantastic ballad from a metal band you have not done before, check out Return to Serenity (full song) by Testament.
