Tom Hanks portrays Mister Rogers in A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, a timely story of kindness triumphing over cynicism, based on the true story of a real-life friendship between Fred Rogers and journalist Tom Junod. After a jaded magazine writer (Emmy winner Matthew Rhys) is assigned a profile of Fred Rogers, he overcomes his skepticism, learning about empathy, kindness, and decency from America’s most beloved neighbor.

The most relaxing sound in the world to hear would be Mr Rogers and Bob Ross having a conversation.
You need Jim Henson there, if only so he can puppet and voice Kermet having a conversation with Bob Ross and Mr. Rogers.
It would just be them complimenting one another
The most laid back and mellow conversation in the world.

Ron Swanson Well said Swanson
Please add another acceptable time to cry for this trailer.
I don't think Fred Rogers was religious either. I know he loved the Lord and he understood that there is evil in this world. Evil that can make people turn away from God's love and do sad, bad things that hurt others. So, he set out to show and tell about love; God's kind of love in every way he could. Hoping people would turn in the direction of love. The love Jesus has for them, the way we can love each other and the way we should love ourselves :)

We need a guide to lead us out of this hell dimension in which we currently live.
It wasn't him that made the world peaceful. I see a ton of people acting like he was some super saint that saved the world. The world is just fucked up now, no rogers can fix this nor stop it nor get rid of the negativity

Case in point the two guys above this post. Nothing is hopeless and being kind to other people is free, we have just lost our way for the sake of stepping on each other for a bigger slice of the life pie. Fun Fact: The last scene of the people on the subway singing the theme song actually happened in real life. He was in New York City and he couldn't find a taxi so he went on the subway. If the Avengers had recruited Mr. Rogers, Thanos would've apologized and handed him the Infinity Gauntlet.
Randal Wung I wouldn’t doubt it
He would have sat Thanos down & asked about his feelings & why he wants to destroy everything, and let Thanos pound away on his piano, and Thanos would have cried & apologized & put all the stones back
@@meganofsherwood3665 And then Mr Rogers would make up a song about dealing with feelings and how it's OK to be sad sometimes, while Thanos watches him with big watery puppy dog eyes. And when the song is done, Thor jumps in and chops off Thanos' head.
@DeanNelson nah Thor would go on a diet and frolic in the flower field with thanos.
But the real question is, what would Mr. Rogers have done with the Infinity Stones?
I’m from Australia, so I never heard of Mr Rogers, but I watched this movie lastnight and it made me wish I grew up watching his show. He seemed to be just about the most nicest, caring, kind-hearted person, from what I’ve learnt about him and his show. And reached out to a lot of kids (and adults) in need, emotionally/mentally. Just like the movie shows, with the character of Lloyd. How to deal with his emotions in a good and positive way. Especially when it comes to anger. Sometimes holding on can be more harmful for ourselves, than letting go.
Same, I live in India, I just watched the film, and I'm trying to remember what I watched growing up as a child.
He was the man! Lived in my hometown actually. He is the type of person we should look up to, calm and handled everything in a peaceful matter, and did his very best to ensure people could find happiness regardless of their problems. Inspiration.

There’s gonna be one guy crying in the corner of the cinema after this movie. I am that guy. This movie will destroy me.
You mean multiple people
I am also that guy
Everyone will be crying when they hear this intro song in theatres over the loud speakers if they haven’t already from their phone/computer speakers. Cause I sure have
I cried just watching this trailer. I'm not sure I can handle the movie
@@epicturtle3456 and I am sure we will be all singing the lyrics
Me: I’m not gonna cry...
Trailer: Hello, neighbor.
Me: 😭
We really need this movie right now.

The world doesn't need it now anymore that it has before. It needs to finally start embracing the idea of not killing each other anymore.
Totally agree!
It's enough to make a grown man cry, and that's okay
**sees Tom Hanks enter the house singing Mr Roger's song**
-Nice
**sees him greet me with Hello neighbor while wearing the red sweater**
- _tears in eyes_ Nice
Me trying to make a tuff face the whole time
I cried... That’s okay 😭
Same here 😭
Same. Happy tears :)
Glad I wasn't the only one, lol...😂
This movie brought me to tears and because it was so beautiful, it’s in my Top 10 favorite movies. There are people in my life who have made me angry and this movie taught me how to forgive them in a positive, non-violent way.
Fred Rogers is my mother's cousin. I got to meet him a couple times in person and yes he was an amazing man. Extraordinary kind and loving.
How blessed you are.
What did he say to you
Mason Skaggs just talk nothing too specific.. just was a very kind man to talk to.
@@thgentleman9210 im sure he was
Grego Brix yep my mother was younger though by 10 years.
I grew up watching mr Rogers when television was innocent I think they picked the right actor to portray fred Rodgers Tom Hanks is amazing he's a wonderful actor may Mr Rogers rest in peace truly missed
"When television was innocent"
Fun Fact: Mr. Rogers started his show partially because he hated the television of his day and how uncomplicated and pandering it was. They mention this in the documentary.
Lerhonda Ward Tom Hanks always seems to top himself!! He hasn’t played a wack role yet, and this is gonna be epic, I can’t wait!
Isaac Kappy outed Hanks as a satanic pedo. Now he is dead.
@@jadedoptimist6364 Never heard that.
@@jadedoptimist6364 Isaac Kappy was also a violent and unbalanced man, unfortunately. I hope he found peace of mind before he killed himself.
Wholesome man playing a wholesome man.
Yeah it checks out.
Jim Lovell, Sully, Walt Disney, now Fred Rogers.... who CAN'T Tom Hanks play?
K1productions don’t forget woody
Are you being sarcastic or have you NOT heard about how Isaac Kappy outed Hanks as a satanic pedo, then he was killed. Wake up!!
@@priceypanda95 Woody !!!
He was also a pastor if I remember correctly
I remember how profound this show was even with its very simple formula. How many kid's shows discussed death, anger and divorce? The world needs more stories about dealing with brokenness and that life is not always happy.
I'm happy it's coming out Thanksgiving, because you know damn well I'm grateful for Mr. Rogers
Well said I liked that. 👏👏
@@antonionunez3759
i'm happy it's coming out in November bc i saw BohRap last November, and Rami Malek win the Oscar in March. While BohRap was controversial, the kids left the cinema in awe of Fred's generosity and inherent kindness: you can't fake leaving your first fiance a HOUSE in your estate.😌 This fall, will be much weepier.😅 i love Fred Rogers. 💗
Ruby Hagrid I am gonna ask my mom can I see this movie
@@alysiamerdavid-wasser9165 I hear you and I'm too am looking forward to this movie as well. 😁
First: Bohemian Rhapsody
Now: A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood
Next: A Happy Little Accident
Who would play him though?
Theres got to be a better sounding title for a Bob Ross movie than that
@@ThatSchmoGuy Happy Little Clouds
Oh boy. If they do a Bob Ross movie, I'm gonna be an emotional mess. I'm already crying just from this trailer.
Bohe was ok.... didnt really love it.
With the way the world has been recently, we could all use someone like Mr Rogers right now. Well done, Tom Hanks!
Recently??
Jwanie yeah 9/11 just happened
Agree.
@@turtleboi9532 that suck.
If you knew the truth about Tom Hanks, you would not say that.
I love the simplicity of this story and message, but just how gentle and loving Tom Hanks played the part and the way that Fred Rogers really was. What a compassionate human being, it really is a quite beautiful thing, great film actually
Mr. Rogers was such a wonderful soul. I cried real tears when he died. Growing up I had this older white lady in the neighborhood. Her name was Ruth. When I would go to her house, she would always give me butterscotch candy and tell about her life. She was my own “Mr. Rogers.” Never cared about your skin color, she just loved the world.
Sad but True don’t bring politics into this
Sad but false
I've been to the studio where the show was filmed. Chills.
@Sad but True Oh ffs. Not the time nor place.
Awwww that’s so sweet. She sounds like a lovely person, I wish people like her were more prominent in society
"I believe so strongly that's it better to be deep and simple than shallow and complex. After all, life is not about material things, life is about the relationships you have with one another and with yourself."
- the man himself, *Fred Rogers*
i missed him, we need him back.
To the 2.1k people who disliked this:
Mr. Rogers still loves you
Disliked: I want Fred Rodgers, not TOM HANKS.
I disliked because it was an incredibly poor trailer. Fact!
I'm a big fan of Tom Hanks and of course, of Mr. Rogers. I like Tom Hanks to portray Mr. Rogers, but something doesn't convince me 100%... it may be the fact that Tom Hanks looks a bit chubby. I still can't wait to watch the full movie. 😊
I didn't dislike the trailer.
@Raymundo11 since when???
RIP Mr and Mrs Rodgers. Pray for us.
Me seeing there's a Mr. Rogers movie trailer: neat
(trailer plays and finishes)

Beatriz de la Portilla He touched a lot of people’s hearts.

there's no one in Hollywood who can portray the absolute most gentlest man in children's programming than the absolute most gentlest man in hollywood. outstanding
Imagine Robin Williams as Mr Rodgers

more hatred now than ever. or maybe it's always been this way and the internet makes it more known
@Ash Wednesday What do you think Mr. Rogers would say about that comment?
@Ash Wednesday That's certainly one way of looking at it.
My girlfriend and I saw this movie on our first date and she saw me cry like a baby during the café scene. This movie is a modern masterpiece and will always hold a very special place in my heart
Everyone who's excited for this should watch the documentary "won't you be my neighbor, " if you haven't already.
No shame in bringing extra tissues :)
Such a beautiful documentary...😭
I loved that documentary n they did well on picking tom hanks to play him. I'm sure mr.rodgets himself would've picked him for the role if he were still here. i am defently gonna see this movie too.
Did! I had to rewatch it several times because the Feels keep hitting 🥺😢😭😭😭
I cried the whole damn time, it’s a great movie
On Netflix?
Tom Hanks should just play every wholesome human being for every film.
But the question is, who’s going to play Tom Hanks in the Tom Hanks biopic?
emilie baartman Maybe his son?
At the rate things are going, it could be Tom Holland, he's got such a huge heart.
Tom Hanks lol
Chet Haze
Well Walt Disney, duh. Why do you think he cryogenically froze himself? To BE the paradigm shift this world needs...Walt Disney. Will Play....Tom Hanks.
This made me cry the nostalgia of just hearing hello neighbor just made me so happy

You need to watch Daniel Tiger’s neighborhood. Please! It’s a PBS children’s show that features the animals of the neighborhood

The original series was just before my time, so I had never heard of it until now. I am currently in a wormhole of watching episodes and interviews. What an incredible person. No scandals, nothing shady. Just pure love.
I love this because I grew up watching him almost everyday. I loved watching his show so much and brings so much nostalgia and even as sad as the death of Kobe Bryant is, he made a great impact as well, there was just nothing but pure love emanating through this man for every human high and low, skinny and fat. When he died the world truly lost a jewel.
So why did I nearly started crying watching this trailer?!? This is my childhood and they picked the perfect person to play him omg
I burst out in tears, fully crying. Mr. Rogers and everything he did is just so beautiful.
Tom Hanks is great, but perfect, I'm not so sure. Mister Rogers are one of a kind, and difficult to imitate his full personality.
