I love how this channel is one part heavy metal/death/prog metal drums, one part 70's/80's/90's pop drums and one part you showing people what hard work and practise can make you do. All parts gold.
It's because he likes to play very straight beats that lend themselves to his ridiculously fast and tight straight fills. This is the evident overlap between metal and that era of new wave pop. Jazz/funk/regae etc don't lend themselves to this style of drumming.

Could always go makeshift. That’s how I’ve had to go for the last 2 years (I have no room). I have a practice pad, a kick pad with pedal and some sticks (can even find them all for under $100 if you look around) and I’m able to get about 80% of my normal practice in (practice control, speed, rudiments, dynamics, etc with both hands and feet) and the only thing I’m unable to practice is moving between drums. It’s real quiet compared to drums and takes almost no space…could be a great way to get into the drums until you have the opportunity to move up to an actual kit ✌️🙂

He would be bored. Usually in a band you can't be musically as free as he is here, doing whatever he wants. His videos are short currently, with performances beyond human. Playing for e.g. a full 2.5 hours is another matter and not being the sole protagonist would be different.
