This is the man who plays Thunderstruck while running and bobbing all over the place and not missing a note and he's talking as if he's a novice lol, what a modest, down to earth guy, that's awesome
@GFM Products it seems @@@westerling8436 has been watching too much porn! I wasn't sure what a "cream pie" was so I did a search and that is all that came up. Keven says he is better than Angus "technically" so it made me wonder if he can make his guitar sound like the women in those porn videos he has been watching! ;)
I meet Phil Rudd in our local supermarket from time to time, he never forgets my name and never fails to say ''Hi" That's knowing where your fame comes from!
He really is man. I have been a fan for years and last week was the first time I saw them live in PA. Could not believe the stamina of this guy. Didn't miss a note and was all over the place at 61 or whatever his age is....amazing dude.
He's just fiddling with that guitar, making sketches, and it sounds like AC/DC no matter what. It's in his bones. Glad he mentioned Jailbreak; I love that song.
Angus may be all of 5' 2", but he's the Muhammad Ali of guitar players. On stage he floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee. And he's a natural born entertainer, but minus the neuroses that afflict so many entertainers. You get the feeling you could hang out with him without being constantly aware he's an international superstar.
Angus Young: By far the best guitar player there is and will be, you would recognize his sound in a heartbeat. I don't think he realizes how much of an impact he has made in the history of music and his fans... I love this guy, stays humble and is one of the friendliest rock stars that have walked the earth. My life would have had a huge empty gap if it weren't for AC/DC. Thank you guys!
Angus buddy, If you or Malcolm read this just want you guys to know you may be the most loved people alive today. All the best and thanks for all the music Malcolm.
I met him in 2009 in Moncton NB Canada I was his police motorcycle escort leader. I met his wife and a young fellow I assumed was their son. I have since learned he has no children. The wife took us up to the family seating to watch his guitar solo. When we got him back to the airport I told him he was my guitar hero and that I also played. I wanted his autograph to go on my left inner forearm and so I asked him, as he was doing autographs for people. He seemed surprised and pleased that I was a huge fan. Today my wife bought me a 2015 Gibson SG for our wedding anniversary it sits beside my vintage Hagstrom Swede. I wish that somehow I could meet him again to get his autograph on the guitar. he was as down to earth and the most decent of people I have escorted and protected in my long career. definitely a rock god and a guitar god in his own special way. rock and roll wouldn't be rock and roll without acdc and acdc wouldn't be acdc without Angus
I grew up in Australia listening to Angus....and I used to see him play most weekends for free so I got to see him play close up and personal. I love it when he plays Chuck Berry licks....or John Lee Hooker licks...he's a great blues player.
Love this guy. But did you ever notice Angus can talk when he has a guitar in his hands and the subject is rock and roll? He almost sounds articulate here. But if the conversation switches to him or his personal views/feelings, he reverts back to quiet mumbling. To think what music must have done for him when he first discovered its power. Incredible.

Angus is god. the first over driven guitar I ever heard was his.. Still to this day no other Guitar player can sound like him. they try but its not possible! he has lightning in his fingers!!! Long live Angus Young! Long Live ACDC!
mark k Well, if i have to quote Angus himself in what he said to lemmy kilmister when lemmy said: Angus! You are a guitar god! Angus: " I'm not a god, i'm a monster."
After 25 years of playing, just picked up my first Les Paul and, just as Angus says, HEAVY beyond belief for a little guy like me, murdering my back after jamming for hours. But still an absolute gem!
I happen to have a family member who was one of the best brass players in the world. She harped incessantly on flaws in her playing and what she wasn't good at. I remember she would practice 9 hours per day on the instrument, with most of the remainder of waking hours thinking about it and practicing breathing. I think it takes the strength of humility to put yourself out like that. Angus is a classy person. I'm not qualified to comment on his guitar skills other than to be in awe.
Harry Jones Yes, they'll stop seeking inspiration elsewhere. You can hear the obvious influences in Angus' playing, but the genius is in his inductive skills creating his individual style. My sister had mentioned some classical musicians that were technically near perfect, but who could never adapt to the orchestra and were never employed. I had an uncle who was an okay drummer, but played with some very good bands due to his easy going style and adaptive mind.
Zan G My brother in law has a cousin who picked up a guitar when he was young and within weeks was playing it like a pro. He's unknown and does some session work now but bro in law said he is so gifted its unreal. I guess not everyone can be famous and some have that drive to be but most do not.
For me being and 80s high schooler and seeing them live doing the thunderstruck tour. A ROCK GOD preservered on the internet forever. Great video, long live AC/DC.
Very humble man and the guy always gave his brother Mal a big rap. Their music changed my young life as a 12yo young fella up late watching Rage. Respect and love guys. R.I.P Malcolm.
+Steve Gould Formative years in Oz - granted - but born in Scotland and the band didnt waste any time bailing for Europe in the late 70s. AFAIK, he's lived in England ever since. Makes sense when you look at where they make their money and he could easily afford to have homes in every city in Oz if he wanted to. To his credit, he never lost his accent or his straightforward approach to music.
It doesnt sting - I saw Angus with the rest of the band at a school dance in 1975 and a host of other legendary Aussie rockers in the decade that followed. They might only be memories now, but they are treasured memories.
+Arthur Watts yes,..they dont make 'em like angus and malcome anymore,.....Brian ,..sorry man i know you paid your dues,...but you gotta understand man,...Im the guy who was going to walk out on ted nugent after i saw ac/dc. with the legendary and profoundly awsome Bon f---ng' scott.. My buddies and i were blazing on the blotter back in 1982 and fried to the gills rocking to black and black right about 1883 sitting out in my van,.decked out to the gills with whatever i could cram into an ol' econoline van ,...remember the album right after the death of bon scott,....Brian Johnson ,..is LSD ..ac/dc in a differant metal slant for sure and bon scott you are terribly missed,,...There was absolutly no one or will there ever be anyone like the awsome rock god lead man bon scott. rest in peace brother. But i am also glad i did not walk out on ted nugent when ac dc with bon scott fronted for him at the bee hive in cincinatti near about 1980ish because the experiance of seeing ted nugent live and movivated in a way which reprograms ones own mind,......there is no beating ted in a guitar match,....but if he were intending to do so on that venue in cincinatti there would be no stopping ted, and that is exaclly what ted nugent did,.....He as carried of stage,..exhausted seemingly after the first 40 minutes which consisted of ted alone on stage with his huge hollow bodied birdland model gibson electric guitar.....Not long after this venue at the bee hive in cincinatti,.....a dand called the who scedualed a concert that when the doors open ,..people rushed in without direct supervision and many 14 peopletrampled themselved to death as the floodgates opened for the seating to be taken.
+Steve Gould Wow! That's what I said too. He does make it look simple.. and it seems simple enough to play when listening to him do them. But, they're not as easy as they appear! It's frustrating!! It's cool of him to explain how he developed his unique, legendary guitar style. He had the same experience and still doesn't play his guitar hero's riffs the way they played them! That would have been a waste if Angus just stuck with learning to play exactly like someone else! Same kind of thing with Eddie Van Halen, Jeff Beck, Keith Richards and probably all the other that developed into Guitar Wizards. Everyone that wants to learn guitar should know this so they can decide which direction they want to take and how to go about it! Some people are happy being in cover bands Thank you Angus Young for putting this video out to the public. This is much more than a #Guitar_Lesson!! This should be titled something else.. . "Angus Young: How He Developed His Legendary Guitar Style" or maybe: "Angus Young Reveals How He Created The Monster"..Thanks Again! Share this and #PassItOn
There was something AMIABLE , in Angus Young...... Many love , to our dear and great AC/DC, and thank's for upload AC/DC lline. Many greetings, from Mica........
Hope Malcom is getting better. He is in my prayers. You folks have inspired me into buying a SG and a Fender Twin Reverb to start learning again at 59 years in the life. Thanks. I really enjoyed the books I read about you folks. If they don't already, businesses all over the globe should set you folks up as a models for what ambition can do. I fairly well versed in Rock so when I say you folks are Rock Royalty Believe it because you have realized your dream especially through hard work. G-d bless Ya all.
The doctors. His whole family and friends have confirmed it. He is in a full time care center, because he just can't anymore. Supposedly the end stadium of Demintia. Which really means..it will not be long. One article out of hundreds, confirming. : www.rollingstone.com/music/news/malcolm-youngs-family-confirms-ac-dc-guitarists-dementia-20140930
***** why did you have to start shit with that guy for being proud of who be is? Are you one of those people who blame the jews for all the worlds problems? That guy was thanking Angus and Malcolm for all they have done and you had to make this a hate coversation. Very sad
The key is to listen and learn from the best. Don't let guitar teachers ruin your dreams. Do like Angus, learn what you like to hear. See how many guitarists he listened to and learned from. Angus = Legend.
Angus is one of the best guitar players ever! The energy he and the band put out is awesome! One of my favorite groups of all time!!! so horrific about Malcolm wish him the best and sure hope Brian can return.
+GifCaption Yep. And that's what's so great about this video. He explains, in his own words, how he created the Monster! Very cool of him to tell his story. .
I was about 7 years old going to hockey with my friend at 6:40 in the morning. To wake up my friends dad turned up and blasted AC/DC. Thunderstruck was my first song of theirs I listened to. Great time. I’ll never forget and I still thank that dad for introducing me to AC/DC. 🤘🏻🎸
I always loved those textures he creates. Not hard, just very creative. The Shot Down in Flames solo with the slides sound like planes getting shot down. Angus isn't technically the best by any means, but his playing is some of the best ever. Those killer vibratos. Earth shaking
If anyone here wants to try and get Angus' sound, here's what you need to do: take your SG, plug one end of the cord into the guitar and the other end straight into a Marshall. No effects. There you go!
Absolutely !! Ppl look at a 'Brian May'pedal, Steve Vai's rig, this & that in a never ending attempt to be human jukebox, never taking into account that the 'sound' comes from the fingers, the attack of the plectrum/pick/fingers, the timing, the miniscule timing combination between the hands and THAT like a person trying to move town to escape one's problems we take ourselves with us everywhere we go. Imitation may be the greatest form of flattery but I ain't here to flatter anyone, just play like me 'till I die !!
Yes, I add in Hendrix too. Those three not only have playing ability but also stage presence. It's a treat to watch them on stage, their playing styles are invigorating!
So I'm waiting in line in Springfield, Missouri to get KISS tickets this morning, April 2016, bragging to the gal waiting next to me about how I saw youz guyz in San Bernardino right after Back in Black came out. Pure Magic! One of my bestest memories. Please come to Springfield, Mo.
I don't know how many of you remember magazines like Guitar Player ripping on Angus back in the early 80s when guys like Randy Rhoads hit the scene. They used to drag him through the mud saying how he could only play a few notes while these shredders would be playing all sorts of scales and arpeggios. I used to get so pissed when they ripped on Angus who was my favorite guitar player, along with Page and Hendrix.
haha i had forgotten blow up your video. I just went and put it on. Good call. Funny that everyone knows thunderstuck but the riff from razors intro is just as good from a guitar players stand point. Bon was great. Died to young. However if there was ever a award for best way to bring a new lead singer after a tragic death award... it would go to AC/DC. Back in black is awesome. Just a strong opening shot. Way to bounce back.
I notice he switched SG's between the first part of the interview to the second. He's playing his SG with the trapeze tailpiece and palm vibrato when he starts out, then all of a sudden, he's not. Not that any of this means shit, just an observation. I watch Angus very closely, as he's been right up there as one of my main influences since the mid '70's. Long live AC/DC, and thoughts and prayers to Malcolm.
After watching this video I now understand why Angus isn't always, sometimes consider as one of the top 3 to 5 guitarist in the history of Rock and Roll. He is so humble, and so shy, and so reluctant to praise himself, or be incredibly crass and boisterous it's really a complete 180 than what you see on stage with this great performer putting on a great show and having fun and making sure the people are getting their money worth. I love to how he refer's to himself as ''a little guy'' or ''the little guy'' almost like he has to or wants to remind us he's not Jimi Hendrix or Eric Clapton, Chuck Berry or BB King etc. I think music history will be on the side of Angus Young though. 50-60 years from now everyone is going to be clamoring to be the next Angus in Rock music and every kind and all kinds of musicians and music scholars are going to be studying Angus and Malcom both with great intrigue!!!!
Such a short-sighted criticism. Saying AC/DC is only good at one thing is like saying Rembrandt was only good at painting portraits. AC/DC is the last word in arena riff-rock. They're the best at it, and they've set the standard for decades. Who cares if their songs only have a few chords, or they can't play jazz? There are plenty of others to look to for that sort of thing.
jgrossma Not my words man..... When the assholes that denigrate AC/DC have finished up their 50 year career, maybe I'll take them seriously, until then, they can fuck right off and go back to listening to lady gaga.....
ted cook I like AC/DC (I hope that's obvious from my comments), and I think he's a "genius" at playing, but no. . .Angus Young hasn't "mastered" flamenco guitar. I'm sure he'd be the first one to tell you that, too. (IE to the best of my knowledge he's never claimed this mastery). He'd also gladly tell you that he's not a particularly strong jazz or classical guitarist. Again. . .so what. VERY few people ever achieve excellence in ANYTHING. . .NOBODY does so in EVERYTHING!
dont know if angus, himself, look at the comments but I am a french guitarist and you are one of my inspiration, for that reason I wish you a long life with a lot more gigs and stuff to inspire yourself and me, you are blessed by I dont know what kind of power but I am glad that you exist. Good bye my friend.
Drinking game: Take a shot every time Angus says "y'know" Awesome piece of history though. What a great guy, doesn't it always seem that the scariest-seeming bands are the friendliest?
Angus, You Are The Guitar Monster... The way you play guitar, you are better than Hendrix, Clapton, Townsend, VanHalen, Ect. you just move people.. the way you play blues rock , you are my favorite, I Wish That I had your Fingers and your Mind.. NEVER STOP ROCKIN BROTHER... Cheers, Cousin Figel
This is the man who plays Thunderstruck while running and bobbing all over the place and not missing a note and he's talking as if he's a novice lol, what a modest, down to earth guy, that's awesome
I'm a better player technically and I'm 17

He mentions Malcolm over and over, his inspiration.
Derk Berk he also mentions hemdrix and Eric clapton :D
Chuck berry was also his hero. and especially Malcolm's
Malcolm was who invited him to join AC/DC! Any brother like that would be anyone’s hero
Malcolm is big brother, so it makes sense. Malcolm was apart of his every day life.
The man from era when people used to have time to listen to and taste the notes they played.
Rarest diamond of music.
Love the way he laughs...such a likable guy.
probably the friendliest guy in rock; and roll.
Along with Paul Gilbert
i saw his blues vs metal video. similar type of video.
I meet Phil Rudd in our local supermarket from time to time, he never forgets my name and never fails to say ''Hi"

Rich Arthur I agree completely, this man is who kids should be fashioning their selves after.

That guy put a smile on my face watching him so nice and humble.
Incredible how his on stage persona is so different, here he's quiet and unassuming whilst on the stage he's an absolute beast.
Quality to see :)
Angus YOUNG is probably one of the nicest and most humble rock guitar Master that's ever lived. So cool to be able to witness that genuine attitude.
When asked " hows it feel to be the best guitar player in the world " his answer was " im not even the best guitar player in the band " very humble.
He says Malcolm is a better guitarist than him..

So true..great comment..im 16..and AcDc honestly did change my life...no pop garbage my side...
Angus and Malcom Young to me are a close second to Jimmy Hendrix
Nobody has that insane vibrato or hits notes with laser accuracy and fire and his phrasing for solos is musical genius.
My guitar models have been Angus and Malcom and David Gilmour. So glad I studied their playing in great detail.

Wow! 2:47. Hard to make that simple riff sound that good. That's why this guy is so good.
Rock on Aussie!
+Arthur Watts good to see you went out of your way to make this point mate. does it sting to know he comes from Australia? rock on aussie pal!
His tone is so pure even when he isn’t trying...
What a legend.
Angus is the reason I started playing guitar 30 years ago. I never tire of hearing him pick.
I tell ya, if AC/DC calls it quits, Angus still has a career as a blues guitarist!
+Eric X You mean... If He calls it quits!!! But for sure!! I get your point. Great Blues player too! Respect!
6 yrs later their screwed atm
Excellent. Love hearing Angus getting all modest when he talks about his heroes.
Unfortunatly, Malcolm will never get better. Dementia is a disease, that always ends with death. But still, all the best to his family.
Who told him he has dementia?
The doctors. His whole family and friends have confirmed it. He is in a full time care center, because he just can't anymore. Supposedly the end stadium of Demintia. Which really means..it will not be long. One article out of hundreds, confirming. : www.rollingstone.com/music/news/malcolm-youngs-family-confirms-ac-dc-guitarists-dementia-20140930
You are a Muslim. How do I know? Through you deceit and lies you are trying to get me to hate Christians. Fuck-off Troll.
***** why did you have to start shit with that guy for being proud of who be is? Are you one of those people who blame the jews for all the worlds problems? That guy was thanking Angus and Malcolm for all they have done and you had to make this a hate coversation. Very sad
I always admired his simple style of playing. He's not overly flashy, just consistent and catchy. One of my all time favorites for sure
I have never heard Hendrix referred to as a "surf" sound. God bless you Angus.
God, bless Angus Young for the way he plays the guitar. For me, one of the best ever, especially on stage!
Angus plays "guitah".
I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
absolutely lost it at this, brilliant.
I dont understand...
lastdaysguitar Ziggy stardust?
ziggy? what? Its his accent mate....
Amazed at his showmanship and guitar licks!
legend! AC/DC got me through high school!
Absolutely right when the sun goes down the music you play has a whole different feel ..
''When you are a little guy like me...." Well, that must have been the understatement of the century.
The key is to listen and learn from the best. Don't let guitar teachers ruin your dreams. Do like Angus, learn what you like to hear. See how many guitarists he listened to and learned from. Angus = Legend.
Thanks for staying alive, bro
Angus is one of the best guitar players ever! The energy he and the band put out is awesome! One of my favorite groups of all time!!! so horrific about Malcolm wish him the best and sure hope Brian can return.
The sound of this Gibson Junior is amazing!
That tone is filthy, he can do no wrong with it
Such a humble GUITAR GIANT!! Such a class act!!!
Yeah but it's ironic how big of a guitar legend even though he's is even though he's only 5'2.
What a great tone...even in a small room at low volumes like that. And at 2:49 you can hear his signature vibrato come out.
my favorite guitarist of all time.
Tony Pemberton Him and Alex Lifeson are absolute champs
you're a very humble man indeed Angus.
Angus and Malcom young,, that's a rock and roll band.
LEGEND.
They are both just so likable. Incredibly talented guys, but just really good people as well. God blessed the right brothers!
im not a great hendrix player.... cmon angus you are god
He's my fucking God shit
+Alejandro Riera He's the best Angus player.
Obi Wan dope dude
Somebody actually asked Angus if he considered himself a God. He said "No, i'm a Monster."
Earth shaking
ted cook I agree.
A giant onstage guitar hero, and a kind humble human being off stage..a true class act love 'em!!
Playing a les Paul will give you hip displacement... Haha, this guy is honest and humble. You know.
The best guitarplayer in the world
Angus "you know" Young
Billie joe yknow armstrong
jedinečný hudobník , svojský štýl , geniálne , jednoduché proste ,leze to do ucha a nechce to von ,to je dobre!
Worked as a roadie here in New Zealand. Angus and Brian were walking around talking to us, the tea-lady etc..
what a true gentle men ! thank you for sharing your talent with the world !
Its all about the fingers and the energy... THAT makes groooooove :)
Interesting fact: Angus plays with everything on his amps at 5.
oakes family Perhaps you should check out the ACDC rig rundown and you'll find out that your statement is not true.
Those are/were his settings for recordings,I read it in guitar player
Angus and Chuck are my favorite guitarists of all time
Yes, I add in Hendrix too. Those three not only have playing ability but also stage presence. It's a treat to watch them on stage, their playing styles are invigorating!
@@JackRabbit617 Heck Yeah Hendrix is a great guitarist!!!!!
Long live AC/DC!
Omg- he is adorable and talented.
THE KING!
Homer?
That's Mr. Simpson to you, bud.
I like Randy Rhoads, but I like Angus possibly more, AC/DC songs have a lot of power.
ted cook prefer the one in down payment blues
ted cook well the only one I'm not crazy about is the one in gone shooting... great riffing and lyrics though
true. I also love razors edge. It gets no love really... under-rated as far as I am concerned.
haha i had forgotten blow up your video.
Not just one of my favorite guitar players, one of my favorite people.
My favorite guitarist! 🙌🏾
Such humility! How refreshing these days
I really believe that man dosnt give a shit about money or fame ect, he truly lives for rock and roll, what a fucking legend!!
This isn't a guitar lesson - it's an interview
AC/DC has been accused of being a one trick pony. My response? Maybe so but it's a GREAT fuckin trick... Feel the same way about Crazy Horse.
When the assholes that denigrate AC/DC have finished up their 50 year career, maybe I'll take them seriously, until then, they can fuck right off and go back to listening to lady gaga.....
ted cook If a "man" listens to gaga, frankly, he's probably envious of HER balls......
ted cook
I like AC/DC (I hope that's obvious from my comments), and I think he's a "genius" at playing, but no. . .Angus Young hasn't "mastered" flamenco guitar.
TheStones1965 Huh...... I'm probably the ONLY "non-guitar player" with a GT Les Paul. Try again, halfwit.
dont know if angus, himself, look at the comments but I am a french guitarist and you are one of my inspiration, for that reason I wish you a long life with a lot more gigs and stuff to inspire yourself and me, you are blessed by I dont know what kind of power but I am glad that you exist. Good bye my friend.
weird to see him sitting while playing the guitar.
he belongs to the stage
There will never be another like him . An amazing talent.
He seems quite nice and he shows that it doesn't matter if you are small like him or tall like slash, you can still be a great guitarist.
Slash is not tall.I met him backstage in NJ in '97.Nice guy but not tall.
Carl Pallini True... Its the hat which makes him look tall ;)
Slash is 178 cm, average height
His humbleness is only exceeded by his talent , amazing guy!!
Drinking game: Take a shot every time Angus says "y'know"
Awesome piece of history though. What a great guy, doesn't it always seem that the scariest-seeming bands are the friendliest?
I just died of alcohol poisoning
Not one bad note or missed bend in the whole video, and all off the cuff. Amazing.
One of the best in the business!
