Mine doesn't come apart. I just clean the hole thing with dawn dish soap, ring the plush with warm water then disinfect the hole thing in sanitize machine. Let air dry 🤷‍♀️

To protect nipple head u should add a cap that in contact with it permenitly and( cap..de cap )
