Found a ring what gives a stack of bulwark/summon. The dog, engineer's turret if deployed, the summoners summons and some weapon mods act also as summons. You can have a lot of stacks.

I think best starter is either medic or handler, really comfy for beginner.

Also with the Hunter's rifle if you double-tap the aim button you can use the scope
I'm started on my second character, he's a challenger but not feeling it. First character was a gunslinger plus medic. I may switch to hunter,
So many different combos you can try on this game, it's what keeps me coming back.

It’s a nice game to play on a break from Destiny. Not a live service but I really enjoyed my 50 hours so far.
It's not destiny..... but it's a grind through and enjoy
for me, the engineer is the best starting class.
super tanky and great starting weapon.
I don’t think it’s a true starting class but one you can unlock.
