    I bought this pack from gohunt.com and I highly recommend them. AS I have mentioned many times before I do not take sponsors and I paid 100% for this pack out of my own pocket. This review is 100% unbiased. Gohunt.com is also a wonderful place to buy from. Im very impressed with the fast shipping, great customer service and fantastic prices and sales!

    Thanks for your channel, I really enjoy it and gain a lot of insight from it. I really trust your reviews. After a couple years thinking about investing in a better public land set up for WI, I’ve modified my setup based on yours. I think it’s the best, versus a straight saddle or hang hunt set up. I used to hunt private land almost exclusively but now that my kids have grown, there’s no room for all of us at the traditional deer camp. I have a mystery ranch pack that I use for elk hunting and love it and look forward to using it for deer hunting. Obviously, I’m going to have to wash it good after having spilled gallons of sweat into it. Even with a bad back and last years injured shoulder, the mystery ranch pack enabled me to pack significantly more weight than other packs I own, like my Eberstock X2. Other popular RUclipsrs promoting saddle set ups also promote the the X2. I’m saving that pack for the kids.

    Really great in depth review! I've had an MR Pop Up 28 going on 4 years, and a Sawtooth 45 for 2 years. Couldn't be happier with either pack for their intended purposes. I know it's a bit of overlap, but I just ordered a Pintler (bag only) from BlackOvis at a great Memorial Day sale price. Interested to find out whether I like the Pintler's Yzip/Trizip or the Sawtooth's 270* Uzip better.The organization on both look pretty similar, though the Pintler looks to have some little details that the Sawtooth doesn't. The Guide Light MT frame is a pleasure to wear and is a tank for hauling loads.

John on the other hand has 25 years in a saddle and make them. I have been following your pack vids for a few years. 90% of my hunts, I can always get deer out. I'm starting to hunt larger tracts of public land and I have gone ultra-lite mobile setup for this year which is allowing me to venture further from the crowds. So, I'm searching for a system that I can use for stand transport/hunting that expands or has a shelf to allow me to bone out a deer and pack it out without having to go back to the truck for a separate pack or gear dump. I would love to see pics or a video this season of you actually packing out the meat with your Exo or this new pack!

    • @SamkoTradBow

      Will see what i can do. But not gonna lie. When I have a heavy load like that on my back the last thing im thinking about is setting up a camera for pics or video and then having to grab the camera and carry it out or even put it away. Would be different if someone else was with me. But 99% of the time Im coming out alone with the whole load.

    I bought the Guide Light Frame on it's own, and I run a non-MR pack on it. While the pack I run has a grab handle on top, I grab it by the top of the frame most of the time. A lot of the packs I have do have straps on top for this, but not all of them. Sometimes you improvise. That's how life works.

    • @SamkoTradBow
      @SamkoTradBow  3 года назад +1

    Hey there - great review. Also enjoyed your Kuiu 2300 venture.
    On the fence between these two packs. I would really like an internal frame 35l to 40l day pack. I like the 2300, but just love the design of mystery ranch - they just don’t make a 35l to 40l pack with features I like.
    I love the features of the Pinter… …just don’t need the extra frame/load slinging.

    Good review!! Just a question on the size you said you wanted a bigger pack then your exo k2 2000 which is actually a 2950ci pack when the roll top is being used for overload why not go with a selway45?

    • @SamkoTradBow
      @SamkoTradBow  4 года назад +1

      Selway uses their new 300d vs the pintler using 500d. I'm used to 500d and didn't want to be a test goat for the durability of the 300. The exo is amazing but the taper design of the main bag doesn't fit my stuff as well and I'm always fighting to zip it up. Not a fan of having to use the roll top that often as it goes up to high and snags on crap in the swamp. Love the exo and almost bought the new 3500 bag. And I'm sure I'd love that. But for the sale price this pintler was worth the experiment. Very happy so far.

    • @AH-mw8vi
      @AH-mw8vi 3 года назад

      I have the Selway 60 and really like it. The quality and durability is what you would expect from Mystery Ranch. A tight weave, durable fabric. At only 4lbs it can pack a lot and tighten down for day hunts. On holiday sale, military discount, no taxes, I paid less than 300 from Black Orvis. The pack is a game changer for anybody with a bad back or shoulder, as it puts all the weight comfortably on hips like a pack is supposed to do. I’m not sure I would of been better off buying the Pinter? Both great packs. Probably anything Mystery Ranch that fits your needs that you can get a great deal on is the best option. I was Airborne Infantry for 7 years, with a combat jump; Mystery Ranch is better then what I used to carry over 100lbs in and beat the hell out of

    Good video. Do you still like it after 3 years? I know those aren't cheap, fragile zippers.
