My Beartooth 80 is just too big of a pack, so I just purchased the Sawtooth 45 for 1-2 day trips. This video just gave me some great ideas how to organize and pack it up. I especially like the Zoid bag idea to organize the small stuff. I like the horizontal bow straps, but I will add a double strand big loop of 550 cord to attach thru the MT Frame top handle and loop around my bow limb, as extra carrying security....I'm paranoid that way ;) Thanks for the solid video and making great packs.
The Sawtooth is my 1st MR bag that I bought last summer, ‘22, because I liked the layout. It was meant as a gift for my brother, along with a Popup 38 that I gave my 12yrs old nephew. Kind of a like father, like son thing. After using it on a archery elk hunt my brother said he didn’t like it, he preferred my Kuiu pack. Anyway, I traded him my Kuiu for the MR Sawtooth. I’ve used this pack on 2 elk hunts, one deer hunt, and next week a Barbary sheep hunt. To me the Kuiu has a better lumbar and packs out heavy loads ( 80+ lbs ) a little better, as the hip belt seams to fit me a little better. That said for a heavy day use pack, I carry around 35lbs, I really like the multiple pocket organization, the 270° opening, and all day ride comfort of this pack ( I did add a 3/8” piece of foam to the lumbar though ). The more I use this bag the more I like it, and I would definitely recommend this bag.
Would love to see a layout on the new popup 40
