I have the same set up as you. Except I use muddy sticks which are a little shorter. I’ll be getting the Alps Matrix pack for next season. I’ll have the camera arm on the side and use the gun and bow holder to strap my sticks on the outside and support their weight from the bottom of the pack. I think I’m only going to pack in 3 sticks and use alders to get the extra height. I’ll use the tethered pouches for my camera arm base and shoulder and put my ropes in my cargo pockets on my pants. You defiantly have to get creative when you self film and saddle hunt! This was the other pack I was looking at so I’m stoked you got it and did a review!
I love my popup 28! Excellent for CO day hunts but also public land whitetail. My Lone Wolf hand climber fits perfectly in the load sling. Not to mention the belt and straps are ultra comfortable.
@@DIYWhitetail ypu think the fixed fat stabd offs woukd effect the spacing or dig into your pack and maybe damage it? It's just these sticks aren't flat and that's what I don't like about them :( maybe I could lay them down across tge bottom with the ends of the sticks poking out
Excellent job on your pack video my friend. Thanks for sharing, I pulled them up, very nice packs, I will have to save up for a pack like this. It is well work the money, I am sure of it. Looks great. Good Luck on your upcoming season my friend, it will be here before we know it, I think it would be a great pack to have and maybe one day I will own one and have it in my arsenal as well. I am working on a new design for the saddle, so it should be a very fun season this year, I am really looking forward to it. Thanks again for sharing this pack with us and have a blessed weekend. Does it have enough space to hold all Your hunting clothes and camera gear for the walk in? I change into all my hunting gear at the base of the tree but also self film. Example would be the Sitka fanatic coat and bibs.
For me it does. I use the Lone Wold Custom Gear camera arm and carry layers in the bag as well. It really expands out pretty well. I have also carried food and drinks for all day sits along with it!
@@DIYWhitetail thanks, finding a pack that can do it all seems like a never ending struggle. I’m on my 3rd pack and I’m hoping that for the money the pop up might be the final one.
Hey man. Great review. Im looking at switching from my eberlestock X2 pack to this one. Only question for you is, did you ever find a way to attach your bow to it? Thanks.
@@DIYWhitetail thanks. I have the stone glacier avail pack but it doesnt have the meat hauling option. I'm going to return it and give the pop 18 a try
The 4th arrow arm and base fit inside the pack. Or you can lengthen straps to go all the way around the pack and strap to the front. Or just put the camera arm in the overload shelf
The problem these packs and many other “pack” brands is the material. Too damn noisy for the up-close and personal eastern whitetail woods imo. If they would just make one colorway (tan or camo) with a quiet fabric, this would be my pack. As is you get to pay backpacking pack prices for a loud pack. The opposite however is true of hunting packs. Plenty with quieter materials, but overall poorly designed packs not meant to carry this kind of weight or having the same technical features. Many are no better than a cheap book bag... just a sack with shoulder straps.
It is a bit loud, but I can over come noise with being slow and careful. The functionality over comes the sound in my opinion. But I hear you. Put a fleece bag on a frame and I will buy it.
They just released the TreeHouse 20 and 38 tonight. It's made out of that silent water resistant material. Looks very interesting. It's not a frame pack but strictly made for the tree
I have a pop18 used last year for elk hunting, I just got into saddle hunting and now I have a pack that will work! Great review!

I hear ya! If I didn’t film my pack would be so light!

Wonder if it would comfortably hold 4 Tethrd One Sticks. They don't fold abd point outward a bit
Yes for sure. I’ve carried 4 hawk heliums and a predator platform with ease

Yea that’s why I haven’t tried those sticks. They would fit. But it would be awkward

Cool piece of kit. Could you do a video on setup and climb using that pack once you get to your tree?
Planning on it! Should be up in the next couple weeks.
Does it have enough space to hold all

It’s the last pack I bought. 3rd season with it this year.
Does the metal popup frame ever make noise against the climbing sticks/platform?
It doesn’t if you tighten it all down really well. Only sound issue is the fabric of the bag.
do you find you have enough room in the harness and belt, they only seem to go up to a large size belt? cheers
I have enough room. But I do crank it pretty tight.
Hey man. Great review. Im looking at switching from my eberlestock X2 pack to this one. Only question for you is, did you ever find a way to attach your bow to it? Thanks.
The side straps are opposite male and female so you can extend them all the way across the pack to attach a bow.
How’s the material noise? Is it pretty quiet if you’re careful?
It’s kinda loud, but if you’re slow it’s not too bad. It’s extremely durable though. Don’t have to worry about ripping it.
Good to know-thanks for the reply!!!
Great review. Well done!
You think it could fit a 5 gallon fuel canister ?
It expands out pretty far. You probably could. It may limit what you can put in the actual bag though. Are you thinking to carry water?
DIY Whitetail an actual fuel jug. Or chainsaw. Im a firfighter
I bet it will. I haven’t measured it. But I bet it will. If you call mystery Ranch they will tell you for sure.
Mystery Ranch also makes bag designed for firefighters and military.
DIY Whitetail thank you
Would full lw sticks fit?
Yea they would fit perfectly!
@@DIYWhitetail thanks. I have the stone glacier avail pack but it doesnt have the meat hauling option. I'm going to return it and give the pop 18 a try
I highly recommended it
Awesome video bud. I’ve been looking at getting this pack myself. Think there is enough room for an alpha and sticks?
I self film to, does it have straps on the front of the pack you could cinch the fourth arrow arm down on?
The 4th arrow arm and base fit inside the pack. Or you can lengthen straps to go all the way around the pack and strap to the front. Or just put the camera arm in the overload shelf
And I don’t know if you could fit an alpha and sticks. Maybe an assault and sticks.
What size pack do you have?
That’s the Pop Up 28
If didn’t self film I’d have the Pop Up 18
Large or xl?
Large
