I’ve used both packs for a few years and they both have their place on a hunt. I find myself using the sawtooth more times than not just because it’s my favorite out of all Mystery Ranches packs! Great vid guys!
Thanks for sharing G!
Bought the sawtooth first and it is more than big enough for a 2-3+ day hunt, especially if you are hunting with a partner and share gear. I would guess that it would be more than big enough for most everyone. I did buy the beartooth bag only later for a future Alaska hunt.
They aren’t cheap, but I have both. If I only had one, I would go with the sawtooth over the beartooth unless you are exclusively doing 3+ days hunts without heading back to the truck. Really like the accessory pocket on the sawtooth versus the little one the beartooth has.
Great video! I think that you covered everything.
Thanks for watching, and sharing your experience!
I have the sawtooth. It’s awesome. I have 2 others as well a different brand and a metcaf . I really like the sawtooth the best. You can open it and get to everything without having to empty the pack
Right on! Thanks for sharing!
I've ran the Sawtooth for 2 seasons now like most things about it. The one dislike when carrying a rifle on the side is that there are only two straps to secure the rifle and the higher of the two straps is placed too low and sometimes the rifle will tip over regardless of how tight the straps are.
I've done 5 nights solo hunts with the use of the lid and by carefully packing. I did not need to use the overload for these hunts.
This season I added the beartooth bag only option as I'm planning longer hunts. Looking forward to giving it a shot.
One other note: I've had no problem getting the sawtooth in the overhead on commercial airlines as long as I've cinched the waist belt down small before pushing into the overhead bin. Cheers
Thanks for the feedback! Glad you loved your Sawtooth for the most part!
Just curious for guys who use the overload shelf to pack in camp, what do you do if you have to pack out meat?
Why MR don't have sawtooth bag only option, I think many people want it
We know! We're hoping that is going to be an option in the future!
What size hip packs are on each of your packs? Looks like the Beartooth has a single small size pack and the Sawtooth two large size packs?
They both have small hip pockets on their packs. Let us know if you have any further questions.
Did he just say vacillating?
5200 and 6.7 in weight? Naaaa!! I'm good! I'll stick with my S.G.!
They make a great pack too!
S.G. Makes a great product , but just because a pack is lighter does not mean it can carry weight better .
content creator, man that sounds hardcore is that anything like a tier 1 unit?? lol. that dude looks like a cream puff anyways
Hi...wath is the difference between new bearthooth and the old?
There's only one Beartooth model that we are aware of.
@@BlackOvis thanks for you answer 🙂
