I’d like to point out that if you use Mystery Ranch game bags, they are designed to fit onto the frame (at the top) just like the pack does, so it holds the meat closer to the frame and it won’t sag to the bottom.
Hi Craig! I too enjoyed my MR Metcalf due to its simplicity, and the Guide Lite MT Frame works extremely well for plenty of users. Backpacks are certainly particular to the user! - Forest
Great review. Packs are indeed particular to the user. I have been using my MR (not this one but the terraframe 65 model) for 2 years now and one thing i noticed was that how i packed my items and adjust the yoke and overhaul or whatever system it had affect the overall comfort of the backpack. Realized this when i went for a 6 days trip hiking a mountain in Indonesia with average of 6-8 hours walking and 60-70 pounds worth of items. The comfort somehow changed everyday after i packed my tents and items. However, once you found the sweet spot for the adjustment it became much much better. Not the best one but without a doubt better than most and also a very good investment. sorry for my poor english 😂
Thanks for adding your $0.02 here! Having another opinion of a similar Mystery Ranch system is valuable, especially from someone who has used it to trek adventurously such as yourself. 🔥
Packs are like boots they’re all subjective to the user I find the Mystery Ranch MT Guidelight frame to be very comfortable andI live and pack in Alaska
If it wasn't for Dana Gleason ( founder of Mystery Ranch ) and Pat Smith ( founder of Kifaru ) You two would have nothing to talk about. It is a fair statement to say that the foundation of all pack design was founded by these two men and copied by everyone.

I like my MR pack due to its simplicity. It carries great and like previously mentioned, packs are particular to the user. Great review again.

Would you test dukuseek heated hunting vest? Looking forward to prepare one for the coming hunting season.
That's a good idea, we've talked about looking into heated vests more, keep an eye out for that video in the future!

Thanks for the comment, Steve. We agree that backpacks are subjective to the user, much like boots. - Forest
