- This gear review features @mysteryranch's better than ever Pop Up backpacks for day hunting and heavy hauls. This pack is designed to be compact and low profile, but is built to transform into a meat hauler with custom load-lift. Brandon Mason breaks down all the features of these packs, including the OVERLOAD shelf, telescoping frame, compression straps, removable top lid and more.

Why would you choose one of these over the sawtooth 45?
Excellent review and overview as always Brandon. I like the tweaks and upgrades over their really popular predecessor.
I have been tempted to buy the Pop 38 or 28 for a pack that I could use for carrying tree saddle gear and hopefully 🙏 haul out a whitetail deer 🦌 from some deep and steep places. Plus be able to use it as a day pack out west. You might be able to find the 28 and 38 occasionally on Camofire if you’re not too worried about the upgrades.
I ended up getting an Eberlestock F7 Kite for $150 and combo it with the F1 mainframe for the multitask and it hasn’t been tested yet outside of bow hiking 🥾 in the woods. Hopefully 🙏 this season will be different and better. 😃🏹🦌
Great video, can you access the side zipper when you are hauling meat without unstrapping everything?
Yes, with a tad of effort.
Love it! Always progress 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
This is really helpful! I purchased the pack but had been a little overwhelmed by all the features. When I practice, I'm still getting a lot of pull-back on my shoulders, even with 25-30 lbs on the shelf. Any suggestions to improve this so I'm not cutting off circulation when hauling actual meat? Thanks!
A 5 lb bag is NOT, in any way shape or form, an 'ultralight day pack'.
If you consider that heavy, then there is an issue.
