I'm watching a featurette about a show that shows a fictional Larry David played by the real Larry David. On that show, the Larry David character is stepping in to play a character based on the real Larry David because, in the show, the Larry David character had a falling out with the Jason Alexander character, played by Jason Alexander. To play the character of George Costanza, the actor Larry David gets coaching from the actor Jason Alexander on how to play the character of George Costanza so that we can watch a faithful portrayal by the actor Larry David playing Larry David playing George Costanza. The character George Costanza, of course, is based on the actor Larry David. I'm not sure if I'm real or not at this point.
“Oh no! No child of mine will EVER be named SEVEN!” *George sticks head out car window while still driving* “ALRIGHT LET’S JUST STAY CALM HERE. DON’T GET ALL CRAZY ON ME!”
Jason's George stands as one of the great TV characters of all time. With his mixture of volatility and insecurity he is the centre of most Seinfeld episodes. And what's really scary, it that 80% of the time I agree with the George position - like on the thanks for the Big Salad. Luv ya, Jason.
Exactly! He was totally right about the big salad thank you. I never liked how they made it seem she was in the right with, "I just handed someone a bag."
Lol if she just handed somebody a bag then why did she care so much that George told Elaine he paid for it? That’s more weird in my opinion. She’s dwelling on it too. At least he told her because he actually paid for it. She’s upset because he told her, but if she didn’t say anything, George would have let it go since he had already told Elaine…
Yes Jason wasn't always wrong. In fact it was pretty easy to agree with him in theory. It was the lengths he would go to to be right n or show he was right that was unhinged at times. One must find balance
@@FandomEditsTrooper yes exactly she was not honorable in this exchange either. I certainly would have told Elaine that George bought it n I would never take credit for it. George Costanza is the greatest sitcom character of all time.
Maybe Dan Fielding, too.
@@jennifergersch9126 Who?
I agree easily to this statement
@@You-sw7tm Night Court.
From whatever sitcoms I've watched so far, I agree.
So funny how Jason still knows how to act as George Constanza so perfectly even 20 years later. It will never leave him, and thats probably why he was always type casted after Seinfeld.
Yeah all this this was only like 10 years after Seinfeld but point still taken
Jason was the best actor on that show, George was the glue of the show, the one constant you could count on to have some major issue and crazy solution
Big time
george WAS the show. second distant place Kramer, then Peterman, George parents, Newman, Elaine and far back Jerry. Larry David is the mind.
@@user-vl4vo2vz4f No need to be rude to Jerry. Without him the show wouldn't exist
Jason Alexander is one of the greatest comedic actors of all time.
The thing that makes George, is that when he gets mad, he pushes out so much air in the first part of the sentence he's practically out of breath at the end of the sentence, so the end sounds REALLY desperate!
Thats exactly how i do my shitty, cartoonish Irish accent.
1:35 Jason should’ve gotten a Emmy just for this 😂 no one can do George like him
Multiple times over.
Jason Alexander was the best actor of the cast and I will die on this hill.
He was also the only actor of the cast. The others were comedians.
@@mrloop1530No. Julia and Michael already had a career before "Seinfeld" as actors in comedy shows. Michael worked on "Fridays", "Cheers", "Miami Vice", "Night Court" before that...
Jason can't play anything out of George's persona or a calmer version of it. See him on "Friends", "The Nanny", "Everybody Hates Chris", on the first comedy version of "ER"... all Georges.
I'd have a picnic on the hill with you.
My favorite interviews off the DVD's are still Jason Alexanders. He was irritated with a script one day and went up to Larry & said:
"OK first off this would never happen. But even if it did no human being would react this way!"
"What are you talking about? That happened to me and its exactly how I reacted!"
"Oh....."
ho hO!
Chris C. - The best line!
Chris C. Nice one:)
ha HOU !
George is getting upset!!
It's a full Gleason.
I love how literally every time Jason delivers a line everyone around him breaks
It's because this scene is literally focused on Larry trying to imitate George who's teaching Larry how to act like Larry. Heavily edited. 😒
@@redacted2275 is... a sitcom
@@redacted2275 So what?
I never realised how underrated Jason is, until i saw this video. His character was the glue.
Oh my God, Jason Alexander is so funny in this when he's demonstrating the proper George reactions.
Jason Alexander is an incredible actor.
Kermy!
I actually feel bad finally acknowledging the greatness of Jason’s incredible acting chops! His explosive deliveries are extremely hard to match…try doing it………………go ahead………ya see ! U blew it!……..Jason should of taken home a bunch of Emmys🎬🏆
Acting angry and it being funny is a fine line.
The biggest treachery in Hollywood is that Jason Alexander was not given an EMMY for his role as George Coztansa.
His portrayal is so real, that you want to kill him, literally.
A brilliant actor, denied of his AWARD.
one of the most talented casts ever.
I don't know how long after Seinfeld ended that this happened, but Jason getting into character at the flip of a switch is just proof at how genius he is!
I think 2010, from the very last frame.
After watching Curb, it's heartwarming to see them get along well on set
My favorite character on the show! Excellent acting, hilarious 😂
WOW. So amazing, Jason just shows the craft so well there.
Dejoblue I know! I loved when he said to Larry "ya gotta go full Gleason," and Jerry cracked up. 😄
Dejoblue You should read his book "Acting Without Acting". It just means, ya know, you don't want to see the actor at work. You want to hide the technique. It's acting. It's doing the job. It's the craft. So you hide the actor's effort.
@@RMBolton but it's still acting ?
@@RMBolton it's not really a book, it's more like a pamphlet. Having said that, it's quite interesting....
Now try to say that 3 times
Welcome to the Matrix
This comment would make a perfect "Jerry On Stage" show opening monologue. I hear Jerry's voice when I read it.
This may be the best youtube comment I have ever seen.
That's the fun of it.
Jason can bring George out at anytime, I love it 😂
It's lovely watching them workshop the lines and have the opportunity to laugh at each other and not worry about the take
“Oh no! No child of mine will EVER be named SEVEN!”
*George sticks head out car window while still driving*
“ALRIGHT LET’S JUST STAY CALM HERE. DON’T GET ALL CRAZY ON ME!”
This is one of George's greatest moments. He was absolutely panicking, while projecting.
How did you pick the best and most perfect George moment from all of them
MAYBE I WILL TAKE IT UP WITH CONSUMER AFFAIRS!!!!
"I'm family, I'm having sex with the cousin! Seven!! SEVEN!!!"
Damn, Ive laughed at first, but quickly it changed to admiration Jason Alexander giving not only Larry but everyone a master class in acting for real
George's problem was the length the would go to to set something straight while at same time acting like it's not a big deal. If it's not let it go. If it is stand your ground
I’ve always thought he was right about the big salad situation!
you get to know how great Jason was as George only when someone else tries to play George... Jason you are awesome man!!
Jerry's unable to stop laughter 😂 That makes it comprehensible how exquisite and hilarious Jason Alexander was playing George 😍
Always was my fav character.. The rage and disappointment in life is so relatable and then that comedic delivery lol the recognition of ones own rediculousness with out any desire or ability to do anything about it... Even God is laughing with him 😂
The difference between writing and performing. To this day you'll hear "geniuses" repeating how Alexander didn't do anything on Seinfeld, just an impression of David.
Sorry, he's just not Penske material.
This is fucking awesome, they could easily bring this show back, they’d never run out of ideas for episodes. I still think about that all the time whenever I watch the show (which is still at least once or a few times a week). Seeing this is literally fuckin awesome.
They didn't want to make Jerry more rich
Larry is a miracle worker. He transformed Jason, such a low-key normal guy in real life to portray the most obnoxious neurotic jerk in TV history. They pulled it off as one!!! ❤
Geez, really shows just how good Jason really is. So talented. How was he overlooked for an emmy
George was one of my favourite characters in Seinfeld! Easily top four.
The guy who plays George teaches the real life George how to play George
Fascinating insights to what Jason Alexander and specific actors bring to their characters that no one else can bring.
Eric Andre at 0:55 lol

Good eye! What is Eric Andre doing there?
wtf bro it kinda looks like him
Jason Alexander is always great!
that reunion was the most brilliant thing. have been rewatching curb cant wait to get to season 7
There would be no Seinfeld without George.
Love it when Jason says to Larry, "It's a full Gleason."
I love how much this highlights everything Jason brought to the character. Just watching Jerry crack up observing his techniques is so infectious.
This video makes me ridiculously happy. Everyone in it seems to be feeling real joy!
Found this video again seemed to be coming back in my life again
Jason is clearly a better actor.... At least Larry tried, but Jason's got George without a doubt!
Yeah but larrys terrible impersonation made it a million times more funny, it killed me when I saw it!
The strange thing is the show is called Seinfeld but he's the most annoying & least funny. I think his stand up material is lame but I guess there's an audience for that too
Jason is so underrated
I act a bit in local theater and Jason Alexander offers a great role model for actors. He really doesn't care how rediculous he seems. He goes all in. He commits. That's why his performance is so good.
Jason is an awesome actor and did the character of George just perfectly 🌟👍💯
One of the best sitcoms ever.
Jason A. = America's Greatest Actor!
Kramer got all the credit but let me tell you take put George and the show is done in a few years. George was amazing. Jason not winning an Emmy is just ridiculous on so many levels
Yep. Jason was the best actor on the show. This video just reinforces that
Jason doing George is the best character in TV history.
Great showcase of how good an actor Jason really is
Jerry immediately cracks up when George talks. lol.
The cast have so much fun together, I've had that much fun at work.
I love seeing how sets actually look in a studio. Fascinating
also, no, Larry is stuck with Steinberner's voice
Ooh, that's where I knew that voice from. It's been a while since I've watched Seinfeld so I just recognised the voice but I couldn't put my finger on it exactly whose it was.
