This IS the studio version. You're gonna have to come to terms with the fact that this is what TALENT is. There was no auto tune back then.
Exactly!
Hear hear
True dat!
I KNOW, RIGHT!!!😁
@@pmbbmp NNNOOOOO, THEY DIDN'T!!! U EITHER COULD SING, SANG, OR EITHER UU COULDN'T!!!
SIMPLE AS THAT!!!
BACK IN THOSE DAYS,.. SINGERS SUNG, & I KNOW THIS, BECAUSE,.. MY FATHER WAS A CELEBRITY SINGER!!!
When Barry sings in falsetto, it is flawless and when all three of the brothers do it...it is perfection!! Checkout "How Deep Is Your Love" by the Bee Gees.
How deep is your love is amazing
One of their best songs❤❤❤
How deep is your love is a classic
you got it wrong ..blks sound like the BeeGees
@@SpkeNo1 No, its wrong, Barry discovered his falsetto voice in nights on broadway from the album main course, there were songs becoming hits like jive talking BEFORE and without the falsetto!!!
These boys aren't auto-tuned....this is how they sounded live. In the '60s, '70s and early to mid-'80s, there was no auto tuning. you couldn't get signed if you couldn't sing live. This song is from the movie soundtrack of "Saturday Night Fever," one of the largest-selling albums of all time.
How things has changed anyone is in the charts now 🤔
Gotta love these eras for that. Either you could deliver or not. If you couldn't, you were out.
Remember when songs were written by the singer and (oh my God) sang by them!!! What a crazy concept.
True. Auto-Tune was not invented until 1997
We need to get BACK to those times. So many of todays losers have no business being in the music industry.
*Cool Fact : They found that the beat of this song when they say "ah ha ha ha staying alive, staying alive" is the perfect timing when giving someone CPR. So if someone's ever in need and you're there, just sing this song while pushing on their chest. =)*
nice
Great clip from The Office about that 😂😂😂
@@kenyonsgirl415 LMAO! I totally forgot about that. Funny AF!
@@stephanieclark9849 he said "first I was afraid, I was petrified..." 😂 😂
Heard that they actually used a stethoscope on one of the guys hearts to get the beat. How cool is that?
Don't apologize for thinking a certain singer is black - that's half the fun! It makes reactions fun! I've seen so many reactors stop the video & walk away - come back & say I've been listening to this song forever & I had no clue. I've got a whole bunch I'm gonna throw at ya from time to time! Start with Bobby Caldwell "What You Won't Do For Love".
Yep - I really love the reactions to Bobby Caldwell, in particular! lol
Exactly, for 30 years I thought Louis Armstrong was white. Lol
@@thomasfinnell9681 That's who I grew up listening to! Oh how I love him!
I was thinking about Simply Red getting confused as black
It's the half of the gale
Nobody can harmonize like the Bee Gees. Those brothers were born to sing together.
Almost everything they recorded was written by them. They also wrote hits for many other artists. Sadly, Barry (the lead singer) is the only brother still alive.
But at least their sister is also still alive. Barry isn't completely alone.
This song was the soundtrack for the 1977 film "Saturday Night Fever" starring John Travolta. Several of their songs were used for that movie.
This song is of course from the movie "Saturday Night Fever" which starred John Travolta. My favorite songs from the album, all of which were giant hits, are "Night Fever *my second favoritie)", "More Than A Woman", "You Should Be Dancin' ", and "If I Can't Have You (my third favorite)". Give them all a listen. These guys had a lot of hits. Listen to "How Deep Is Your Love", "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart", "Love So Right" and about 50 more.
Strutting!
Not too many soundtracks have such a chart topper like this. Maybe grease
@@andreadeamon6419 "White Christmas" from the movie Holiday Inn and of course, "Purple Rain" from, well, you know.
@@andreadeamon6419
And of course Barry Gibb wrote "Grease" the opening track!
@kerryn67 i know. He even knew he wanted Frankie to sing it
Props for coming right back to The Bee Gees like you said. They are legends.
The Bee Gees wrote all their music, they are so very talented, I love the Bee Gees I have had the privilege of growing old with them. They are tops in my book. So much great music and songs. A good way to see them in action is to watch the making of the song Tragedy.
"More Than a Woman" and "Night Fever" More Bee Gees "Jive Talkin'" All #1 hits.
its been in a LOT of movies. well over 20. its a classic for a reason.
The Bee Gees are brothers who started singing when they were kids. And their voices are just as good live as in the studio! That's a promise! There was NO auto-tuning back in their day. If you couldn't sing you didn't make it as a singer. Yet these guys made hit after hit for many years! They wrote the songs too. And Barry Gibb sang duets with Barbara Streisand, & Cher
Now I'm going to be singing this all day, and feeling good!!
Even growing up in the hood back in the 80s you couldn't resist listening to this
You want to hear how they really sound like, watch their concert “One Night Only”… they cover their songs from 60s to the present day.
This song was written and recorded to the movie “Saturday Night Fever” with John Travolta in 1977. Biggest selling movie soundtrack of all time
That IS them. There was no auto tune back then. You’re hearing pure talent!
That's straight up 100% them... Pure talent. Please react to "Jive Talkin'" when you get a chance.
If you want to hear Robin by himself, check out “I started a Joke”. There is another brother called Andy and he has his solo “ Shadow Dancing”. Do check out “ You should be Dancing” 1976 HQ audio.ITs a live video. This features all four together.
A lot of their early songs had Robin singing lead.
And I can't see nobody.. live in Melbourne 74
So many reactors thought the Bees Gees were black 😉 loving the reactions from y'all 💙
Thank you!!
BeeGees were asked to write songs for the movie "Saturday Night Fever" and this is one of the many on that album. Y'all dig in to vintage BeeGees because they been legit back to the 60's! There are songs where you mainly hear Robin singing, then there's songs where you can hear Maurice mainly singing. It's worth the dive into all their music. I don't think you will be disappointed.
I know one song that has Barry way more isolated singing the majority of the song alone like you requested. It's PERFECT because then you'll be ready to hear Al Green's version of it. Barry loved what Al did with it.
"How Can You Mend A Broken Heart"
It is what you hear, no auto tune back then Barry Gibbs falsetto voice is incredible to say the least!
I'm White, and I'm not faulting you for thinking they were Black. You're good, bro. There was no such thing as auto-tune. That was their REAL voices. I honestly HATED the Bee Gees. But that was really how they sounded with NO assistance.
Bee Gees and ACDC by far Australia's biggest bands of all time. Bee Gees were prolific song writers too, do a quick on songs they wrote for other artists and film. You'll be blown away
You're right! You shouldn't have to apologize when you're just doing your best. You can't please everyone and some folks are just plain looking for things to be wrong instead of looking for positives.
Robin singing Massachusetts or Rings around the moon or Me Natural, Maurice singing Closer than Close or Man in the middle or Wildflower all of them singing For Whom the bell tolls or You win again or alone. To love somebody from the 60s but they never did anything that wasn't amazing
If you like this, you owe it to yourself to listen to music from the '60s and '70s. The Bee Gees were just one of many extraordinarily talented groups.
"Tragedy" is a good Bee Gees song. There's a good live version on RUclips. If you look at really old Bee Gees stuff they didn't sing in those falsetto voices. It's quite a bit different. For whatever reason, they tried this in the 70s and it went really well with disco music.
No true...they have always used falsetto just not entire songs.
@@ericajenkins1769 no, they didn't. They originally sang tight three-part harmonies. Barry didn't add the falsetto sound until later.
Robin often slid into falsetto when he was singing, he did it so smoothly you often didn't hear the change from chest to head voice.
And Robin's falsetto was way better than Barry's, unfortunately by the 70's the nicer looking face usually took the lead at the studio heads' insistence.
YOUNG MAN,.. THIS IS THE BEE GEE,.. BACK IN THE LATE 70'S, & THEY WERE THE REAL DEAL!!!
I REMEMBER WHEN THIS SONG CAME OUT,.. ALONG WITH THE MOVIE, "STAYING ALIVE" (SOUNDTRACK,.. ON THE ALBUM)!!!
SINGERS DIDN'T USE AUTOTUNE BACK THEN!!!
You two just get better and better at this, I also love how you give all music a chance. Music heals and sharing your discovery with others makes you feel good and us as well!!!
Very well said.
Thank you so much Robin!!
@@OfficialLifeWithRecklezz Bee Gees are 3 British Brothers from the Isle of Man in Great Britain, here is how they got their high pitched voice in the studio ruclips.net/video/8FEbFLsA59M/видео.html
Loved this comment! So sick of people being judgy (sadly, they think they're "helping" lol, but let's be real, always sounds negative) He/they will surely find their exact groove, otherwise it's just fun to see today's youth find old music as new and as exciting as WE did when we discovered it! I'm kinda obsessed with these reactions, bc there really is no better feeling than that 1st time you hear and feel a song... I recall showing someone older NOW a classic movie and the joy I get when their face melts off! Hahaaa
There's honestly nothing better to bring people together than music! I smh a lot at how many classics fell between the cracks for these younger viewers, but my heart pounds, tears, the whole shhhhh, when they find a great artists, and see what music once was!! Not sounding snobby lol, but everything lately was computerized, it's so great to hear great music coming from a place of LOVE, not just the $$😉♥️🎶😎
@@debbiedebster5806 I love it too!!
Hi! Anything from Midnight Special ... all groups were required to sing live on the show. No autotune. "Nights on Broadway" is a great start.
Have a wonderful holiday.
This song was the theme song to the movie with John Travolta called "Stayin Alive"! And, YES! They could really sing like that. This was back in (I believe!) 1977 or '78. Way before your time.
There is plenty of live videos of them. They are even better live. Perfect everytime
This was on the movie Saturday fever in the 70s big movie back then the Bee Gees ruled the 70s unbelievable singers the disco era🐐💙🐐🐐👍☘️
Bee Gees were famous for the disco era songs. They have their singing voices and normal talking voices. Very different.
They all have fabulous voices . They als had a little brother who sang by himself. He passed away at 30.
The Bee gees are legit Legends and if you don't like this song there's something wrong with you
Auto-tune didn't exist back then and these three gents wouldn't have needed it anyway.
Do Night fever
If you watch the bio of them in the 80s it will blow you mind. they were given the movie stayin alive and sent to france and put up in a home in the country with just basic sound studio and told to make some songs for the movie. IN TWO weeks they made like 8 songs that all were hits, at one point they had 3 top 10 songs and their little brother had 1 also in the top 10.
Listen to older B Gees, "Words" , "How can you mend a broken heart", " I started a joke" ..... thank you, and your welcom....
Sounds as fresh as when it was released.🔥🔥🔥
This song first appeared in the movie "Saturday Night Fever" with John Travolta. If you want a window into the disco era, watch the movie!! It's awesome!
This is really their voices I grew up with this music in the '70s and '80s we are taught to think a certain way about a certain sound or a certain thing it's called a bias don't apologize for it but it opens our eyes to realize we have been lied to for many years and look at what you were missing out on it works this way on both sides of the street amen
Saturday Night Fever-John Travolta. He struttes the walk to this song
Best Beegees song of all time (to me) is "how deep is your love" it's a whole vibe fr. It's one of those songs you put on, close your eyes and just vibe to.
This and a few others the Bee Gees wrote and sung for the motion picture soundtrack for Saturday Night Fever during the disco days. Btw, love you two's channel, very cool, keep it up
The Bee Gees, Night fever . Jive Talkin. More than a Woman,. How deep is your Love, many more.
This opening song to Saturday Night Fever is puuuure disco! Resurrected their group's career... the film's soundtrack album.
This was the quintessential disco song. Period. Still never tired of it 45 years later....
It is really their voices. They have soft voices. You can google interviews they were in. Find the interview where they talk about their younger brother Andy’s death
Barry Gibb, the one in the middle, is the only surviving brother. As a songwriter, Barry Gibb shares with John Lennon and Paul McCartney the record for most consecutive Hot 100 number ones, each having six. In total, he has written or co-written sixteen Hot 100 number ones. Guiness World Records lists Gibb as the second most successful songwriter in history, behind McCartney.
This IS the studio version you are listening too, it is from the soundtrack to the movie "SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER" with starring John Travolta. You will hear it in the opening scene where Travolta is walking down the street. "Saturday Night Fever" came out LONG before the other movies you may have heard it in.
As others commented here…..your guys’ reactions are great & keep it going👍!! The Bee Gees had dozens of Top Ten hits with having written over a 1000 songs spanning 5 decades!
"How Deep is Your Love"
Watch one of the concert alive. Their voices & harmonies are dope!
I'm half Mexican and I asked my Dad who's his favorite singer was he said Elvis and any old school Mexican would say Elvis is don't know why but can't help falling in love is that would get your misses in the mood #theking
Love the bee gees from my country the UK originally.
In their pre-disco era (late 60's early 70's), Robin (with the long hair) was usually the lead singer. "I Started a Joke", "To Love Somebody" and many more. My favorite period of the Bee Gees.
back in the day musicians relied on their talent, very rarely sounding different live, form their studio recordings
Their song "YOU SHOULD BE DANCING " IS KICKASS TOO. They have their little brother, Andy Gibb, join them on stage !! RIP Andy, Maurice and Robin 😞
They're brothers.
There were actually 4 of them - 1 brother died when they were all very young (in their early twenties) - as far as I know, he committed suicide. He looked a lot like Barry (the guy in the middle).
The other two brothers were really good writers and producers, so they all played a part in the success of the band.
Also, they're called The Bee Gees - you gotta add the pause in between.
There's videos of them being interviewed and they all talk.
Like Michael Jackson, Barry's voice isn't naturally high pitched - he just sings majority of their songs that way, although, there are some songs in which he uses his "normal" voice.
The other guys have their own singles that they sang almost exclusively (by themselves), so you can get a taste of their voices too if you wanna, but Barry is the best of the vocalists, although Andy (the brother that died very young) also sounded similar to Barry - so they were similar in appearance and voice.
The Bee Gees are as big as the Beatles, so I am surprised there's people out there hearing them for the first time in their 20s ... that's crazy to me xD (I'm 30).
Two more songs I think you should react to, from the Bee Gees "How Deep is your love" and "You Should be Dancing".
"Night Fever" too.
The subject matter of 'Stayin' Alive' is about survival in the streets of New York inspired by the Nic Cohn paperback Tribal Rites of the Saturday Night, who was the plot for the classic Saturday Night Fever Movie. With 31 million singles sold since, Top 5 all time songs ever written and the hallmark and mist iconic song of the 70`s decade.
It is claimed from in a survey of all radiostations around the globe as most airplayed song of all time in 2017- every 20 seconds - this plays everywhere around the world 🍾. It’s a part of our shared cultural heritage now - one of those pop miracles that just never gets old, never wears off, never loses its charge. It remains alive. And indeed one of the most covered pop songs in history.🎖
Michael Jackson told that without the Saturday Night Fever Sountrack, he was not able to write with Quincy Jones the Thriller Album, Barry Gibb & Michael Jackson were the closest friends in Show Biz 💪
It’s so many Blued Eyed Soul Singers!!!
Barry Gibb also wrote & did a duet with Barbra Streisand called "Guilty" It shows all aspects of his voice.
What kind of fool, woman in love too
They all co-wrote many songs for other performers as well produced.
This was written by The Bee Gees and used in the movie Saturday Night Fever. Bothers Gibb yes
Whatever peoples opinion of the Bee Gees you can't deny the fact that they were superb songwriters..the list of singers who have covered their songs is huge....Al Green ..How can you mend a broken heart is one of my faves..I could go on..I'd be here all day! ;)
The song was written for the Soundtrack of "Saturday Night Fever" With John Travolta. I think it was the best selling album of all time until MJ's Thriller came out if I am not mistaken.
Barry is the lead singer on most songs they sing. To hear Robin sing the lead, listen to I Started A Joke, Rings Around The Moon, Don't Cry Alone. To hear Maurice singing the lead listen to Man In The Middle, First Of May,, Hold Her In The Palm Of Your Hand...A great song to hear them all together and all of their falsettos and vocal ranges, try the song Fanny
Betting for food is always a good call. Whether you win or lose at least you're eating good!
time to check out The Rightous Brothers
I sent them "Unchained Melody"!
I enjoy your channel. I'll be here for the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s. I don't understand any music much beyond that.
Love the Bee Gees growing up in the disco era... But check out Bee Gees and ACDC mash up with Stayin Alive... Awesome...
These are 3 brothers. Went by the Brothers Gibb, but changed it to the BeeGees. Barry Gibb sings most the lead parts. But listen to Robin Gibb sing lead in "I Started a Joke" and "Massachusetts". Maurice Gibb is the is the other one. Robin and Maurice are twins.
NEW SUBSCRIBER WELCOME TO ONE OF THE BEST EVER!! 1000 songs and 21 number 1 songs in the USA and UK
Oh yeah just remembered something funny. My sister is a child of the 70's and after watching a bunch of Bee Gees reactions I texted her this. "Did you know that until here recently the Bee Gees were black? We had a good laugh. Thanks for the fun.
"How Deep is your love" is a slow song. So if you're looking for something ... idk lower? solo? from them this is a pretty good song.
Love this from early childhood from watching Saturday Night Fever
Jive Talkin' was their first hit that they crossed into this music genre with. Not as much falsetto. That is the studio version. Putting a music video together back in 1977 was a huge production. Well worth the effort though.
You guys should watch the movie “Saturday Night Fever,” with John Travolta. You’ll hear a number of these Bee Gees tunes in that classic film.
If you want to know the origins of this song and other songs by The Bee Gees you need to the movie Saturday Night Fever !!
Maybe try and react to some of their older stuff, before they found out they could sing in falsetto.
Songs like "To Love Somebody", "Words", "I Started A Joke", "Massachusetts" or "I've Gotta Get A Message To You", all from 67/68
With myself being a songwriter, musician, vocalist as well as a body builder, I can understand why a lot of people thought they were a black band if you never knew about the band. There are a few bands that people didn't know about until they actually saw them. There's a band called Wild Cherry from back around that same time period who had a song called "Play That Funky Music" and you would think it was a black band until you see the video and find that they're white. But then again there was a hard rock band called Living Colour with a song called "Cult of Personality" but a lot of people thought they were a white band until they saw the video of the song and saw that they were black. So, with bands and music sometimes you never know until you see the band.
There have been dozens and dozens of reaction videos about this song and BeeGees already, and so many didn't know the BeeGees were white. It's very very funny to watch these reactions. This was the music for the movie with John Travolta "Saturday Night Fever" which was a huge hit back in the day
If you go on RUclips and put in Beegees :midnight special 1975 you will see a lot of their songs being sung live
1958 - 2003 (45 years) of The Bee Gees to choose from! They are legends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kids your age never experienced the disco scene. Check out the movie Saturday Night Fever featuring songs from The Bee Gees and starring a young John Travolta. Then, watch Grease, a MUST SEE.
you guys are going love this song such great song.was in great disco movie Saturday night fever with John Travolta can't wait to see you react to this like you did to much heaven you guys are going be blown away again but you might have heard this song in a movie. You guys should also listen to song night fever, and how deep is your love.
If you would like to hear them separately, list en to their song "For Whom the Bell Tolls." You'll love it!!!
You are hearing their voices for real. Back in those days there were no audio tricks or autotune
So this was part of the soundtrack that the Bee Gees did for the movie SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER. My favorite song of theirs is also on it called "You Should Be Dancing". If you react to it, it might be cool if you did the clip from the movie where John Travolta is dancing to it. There's probably a higher chance of it getting blocked, but I think it'd be great to experience the song first that way. It's here: ruclips.net/video/lMZ9_yrCIqU/видео.html
You aren't alone growing up I thought they were too until I saw video I was like damn
They were one of the best.
You guys should also check out the youngest brother Andy Gibb. Barry wrote songs and produced his albums. You won't be disappointed. 🤩
Damn girl, you got the most beautiful smile.
Barry is still alive and getting very old, there is a talk show interview after his last brother passing, he jokes about his high voice singing and has his guitar and shows how he sings like that... been doing music over 60 years 🎶
It was also in Saturday Night Fever but Bee Gees wrote for the movie
This song was recorded in early to mid 1970s, long before autotune or the like was invented! They are REALLY THAT GOOD!!!
To hear Robin try "Juliet".
To hear Maurice (pronounced Morris) try "Man In The Middle.
