    Barry Gibb was one handsome man sadly he’s the only brother that still alive they just did a fantastic documentary on them on HBO if you have it or HBO max it is so good and the saddest thing was at the end he said he would give it all up to have his brothers back……They were absolutely huge I can’t stress enough the global superstar is that they were in the 70s

  • @margaretalbrecht4650
    @margaretalbrecht4650 3 года назад +17

    You know the most useful trivia about this song?
    They used to teach that if you're doing CPR, do it to the beat of "Stayin' Alive" and you're doing it at the correct rhythm.
    Oh, and the falsetto was big in disco. If you listen to pre-disco Bee Gees you'll hear their normal voices. Though if you want to hear the highest voice of that era, listen to "Lovin' You" by Minnie Riperton. She hits the whistle register in that song. (That's where the human voice sounds like a whistle and usually only very young children can do it which is why the sounds of the screaming can hurt your ears.) This is a song dedicated to her daughter, Maya Rudolph. Minnie is another one who died tragically young, age 31, from breast cancer.
    But let me just say what you're discovering. Disco music was fun. What's called dance music is just the direct descendant of disco. The 70s get a bad rap and a lot of that is because of disco. Yes, the clothing and gold lamé is dated, but the best of the 70s music still holds up today.

    You gotta understand, for those of us who were around when it first came out, we got tired of it because they'd play it on the radio about every fifteen minutes for months on end. Thanks for reminding me what a wonderful song and performance it was...I'd forgotten.

    Welcome to, in my estimation, the Bee Gees 3rd reincarnation in the mid to late 1970's. From child performers, to respected 60's rock & ballad writers & performers, to the dawn of Disco.

    The most prolific song writers of all time. The Gibb brothers were some of the best. You would flip if you heard their speaking voices and all of their British glory.

    Fun fact - the American Heart Association recommends the tempo of "Stayin' Alive" as the proper rhythm for performing CPR. Now THAT's an unforgettable tempo!

    incredible melodies and beats. The music is uplifting. Unlike some music now that talk about women and men in very derogatory manner. Miss those days...less divisive. Disco was in and it was free flowing...

    The BeeGees produced the greatest music to swing dance to. It was an incredible blast back in the middle and late 70's. It was a non-stop party! You have a wonderful life Angela!
