  • In this video I will be replacing the fuel pump on a 2013 Nissan 370z. Make sure to be aware that you're dealing with gasoline when you're replacing the fuel pump and needless to say this stuff is extremely flammable. I ordered my pump from Z1 Motorsports, and I'm installing an OEM pump. Regardless of the type of pump you're installing the process is the same. Just follow along and your Z will be back on the road in no time.
In this video I used silicone compound on the O rings. If you need some, here's the affiliated link to what I recommend. amzn.to/3Uy5VPE
    Thank for watching!

You can start the car after disconnecting the connector on the fuel pump to depressurize the line.

Great video! I’m trying to install my own kill switch for my new Z by cutting power to the fuel pump with a simple switch. Which wire would that be on the pigtail? I see 4 wires in that connector. Guessing it’ll be red?

@@Prolbuilds my comment got deleted by RUclips because I pasted a link to NissanZClub website lol
      I’ll re-type 😅
I just wanted to say THANK TOU SO MUCH for pointing me in the right direction for finding power to the fuel pump! I was able to successfully cut the wire and solder another two wires to my switch. After testing it out a few times it does kill the engine to my fancy new shiny red 2024 Z (don’t tell Nissan lol I bet this cancels my warranty)
It wasn’t the pink wire you mentioned in the short , turns out for 2023+ Nissans it’s the green wire. I was able to find out by making a post on the nissanzclub website titled “Does anybody know which wire is power for the fuel pump?” If you’re curious to look it up 😅
I was going to reply with another short but then I’d expose where I hid my switch to the world haha
The wire does feel warm to the touch after driving but it doesn’t seem to be a concern. It is less thick copper than the fuel pump positive wire , but don’t smell anything burning and didn’t notice a loss in performance
      Anyways Cheers! I’m subscribed 🎉
All the best from Ontario Canada !

For some reason 8mm didn’t work on my bolts. They’re all rusted

Great video , if you don’t mind me asking what silicone compound did you used ? Or it don’t really matter ? ~ thanks 🙏🏼

The specific silicone compound that I use comes in little packages when you replace your brake pads. But you could use any type of lubrication that doesn't eat away at the o ring.
look up Super Lube it's made just for o rings.

If you don't mind me asking, how did you realize the problem was a bad fuel pump? My 370z has trouble starting for a little while and now cranks but won't start, I'm thinking my fuel pump went out too potentially.

I realized that the fuel pump was going bad because the z would start up, but then stall out. My son was able to drive it home, but on the way home there was a humming sound coming from the right rear, where the fuel pump is. Using my scan tool, I triggered the pump on and off, but while testing it, I noticed the pump would not always turn on when it was supposed to.
Try this, let the car sit for about 10 min. Then have someone listen where the pump is for a humming sound. Don't try to start the car but turn the ignition on. You should hear the fuel pump priming. If you hear nothing, it might be the pump has gone bad. There's more testing that you can do. If you need more help comment again.
      I hope this helps.
      Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the info man. I figured it was the pump so I went ahead and replaced it using your video as a guide. I truly appreciate your level of detail, helped me a ton, thank you!

      Excellent! 👊 your welcome 👍
In a couple of weeks, stop by the channel again. I'm going to be doing some more work on the Z. Some upgrades that I need to install. You might find one of those videos useful.
      Thanks 🙏
