  • In this episode I am trying to reach Lamanai, a site with Mayan temples. In an attempt to avoid the long northern, or long southern detour, I attempt to ride straight to the site. That turns out to be much harder than expected..

I don't think there are many adventure bikers on YT who can produce a 25 minute vlog about working their way along a sandy, little used and meandering trail through tangled vegetation, get sooooo close to their destination, get turned around, and call it day, and still be so much fun to travel with.
It's all part of the adventure; you're still exploring, still discovering, and keeping our eyes glued to the screen to see, with you, that next new thing around the next bend.

Noraly…I admire you deeply for being an ambassador to young woman. As a solo female traveler for over 30 yrs, I am asked again and again if I’m ever afraid of this, that, or the other thing…I also hear from many younger woman “ I wish I could do what you do and see the world, but I don’t have anybody to go with.” My answer is always the same. DONT EVER wait for someone wonderful and interesting to show you the world. Show yourself the world, and you will be the wonderful and interesting one.

I’ve been really intrigued watching your Season 6. I’ve ridden motorcycles for over 45 years all across North America. I’ve also travelled extensively in the rain forests of Mexico, Costa Rica, Honduras, and El Salvador (not on bike - in 4X4’s) so watching this season is like a trip down memory lane. What impresses me most is your confidence in riding into areas that I would second guess re: personal security. Solo, unsupported riding like that takes guts, so you have my respect. Your editing and addition of appropriate music adds to the artistic value - well done. Safe travels and best wishes from Canada.

Noraly- You are at the Lamanai Archeological Reserve. Lamanai is accessible to tourists by organized day boat trips from Orange Walk Town along the New River, or by dirt and gravel road through the Mennonite area of Shipyard. A small museum exhibits local artifacts and provides a historical overview.
Lamanai means "Submerged Crocodile" in the Mayan Language. You need to go to Shipyard to get in. When I rode through Belize going to the USA, I went there. Very nice. The road through Shipyard is pea sized gravel and is very slippery.

Hi Noraly, you are absolutely Fearless. Talk about Adventure Riding, I’m not sure Anyone could keep up with you. Ok here’s a dirt Road, oh now it’s a Trail, now it’s a Game Trail, but I think if I go straight across this Feild, it just goes on. You are Incredible. God is Riding with you for sure. I hope you at least carry some extra Food and I know you carry a lot of Water. There is Nothing that stops you. You are definitely 1 of a Kind Noraly. I hope the rest of your Adventure to Alaska is Safe.

Always amazed at the amount of stuff on hand from your bags, bit less than India, but still, always a map for everywhere, air pumps, tools, you name, it’s all in there somewhere!😊

Another great video, I have gone back to binge watch from season 1 as I so enjoyed the first India season, but now when I watch I realise how much your film making has improved, the filming and editing has improved beyond belief.
How you manage to make such great content and edit it so well is amazing. Whilst on the road.
Thanks for taking us with you.xx

Hi, welcome to Belize. I think your best option to get to Lamanai is from the north. Come into Orange Walk and travel the San Antonio road all the way to San Felipe, then to Indian Church. BTW, I am enjoying the views, and hoping that you have wonderful memories in this country. Will keep you in my prayers 😊. If you do get to spend some time in Orange Walk, try our Tacos.

I visited Lamamai from a cruise ship about 5 yrs ago. My favorite ruins as you can explore them. Ferry from the ship, bus to a sort of building where we got on a boat and arrived by water. Amazing jungle with howler monkeys that sounded like the dinosaurs from Jurassic park.

Thanks for another enjoyable video. Speaking as someone who can relate to your spirit of off the trail adventure and who lives in Mexico, often those trails here are somewhat controlled by the narco-traficantes and so are NOT very safe.

It’s all part of the adventure, my wife and I did a trek 18 miles of road and during our adventure we said we were glad we did not have to go back the way we had just came , it was grueling . Two miles from our destination and avalanche had taken the road off the mountain with no way around . Got back to our camp just as it was getting dark and happy to be there .
    Happy Trails

To Ruins Lamanai access by boats. Near Orange Walk. In few days the rainy days will be a problem to road.
