    Let me know if you wear glasses and what your correction is? Did you encounter any issues getting your medical?

    Do a person with -12 diopter test result & -2.5 astigmatism can make either ( ICL /lasic) refractive surgery and join pilot profession if they meet the standard 20/20 after surgery evaluation& with the same vision test -12 if they use high index glasses,what will be the possiblity to join the profession.

    Hello sir!
    My name is Julian, Im 20 and located in Montreal. Just shy over a year ago I completed my initial medical to obtain my CAT 1. Since then Transport Canada had me complete additional testing. Its important to note that I have monocular vision, which I have had since the beginning of my life. 2 days ago Transport Canada got back to me and is asking me to go do a inflight monocular vision practical test. I will be getting that done later this week at a local flight school. I was just curious if you have ever heard of this type of test they conduct? and do you know of anyone or anything regarding monocular vision and cat 1?

    • @AviatorInspirations
      @AviatorInspirations  Год назад +1

      I have not encountered this type of test before, so I’m not sure what exactly it entails. The flight school should be able to brief you on exactly what will happen during the flight. Sorry I can’t be of more help, but update us in the comments once it’s complete. Good luck!

    • @AviatorInspirations

      You need 2 good eyes, so the bad eye will need corrective lenses

    Hi sir,
    Sorry for commenting late but I have a question.
    I can see 20/20 with corrective lenses but.
    I have a condition called Amblyopia and I cant see that well out of my left eye, I live in the UK and therefore operate under the CAA which requires me to see 6/9 in each eye, I unfortunately can't see well enough out of my left eye to meet that requirement though.
    Is there still any chance of me obtaining my CPL?
    Thank you for your time :)

    • @AviatorInspirations
      @AviatorInspirations  10 месяцев назад +1

      Our vision is critically important as a pilot, so if you don’t meet the requirements then no you can’t hold an aviation medical. Have you seen an aviation doctor? That would be the first place to start. Alternatively you can look into laser eye surgery if that condition can be fixed.

    • @Celestenshi
      @Celestenshi 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@AviatorInspirations I haven't seen an aviation doctor just yet only got my eyes tested by my local opticians. The thing is that I meet the eyesight requirements perfectly fine under ICAO and FAA standards just not CAA standards. So do you think it might be possible to get my CPL in a different country?
      Thank you so much for your response

    • @AviatorInspirations
      @AviatorInspirations  10 месяцев назад +1

      It’s possible, but then you have to live and fly in that country, since your medical and license will be tied to that country. I have a video on the different licenses if you want more info.

    Hello !! My vision is 6/24 without correction and Is 6/9 in each eyes corrected. Is that okay?

    • @AviatorInspirations
      @AviatorInspirations  Год назад +2

      If you can look at your glasses and determine the +/- correction, you can use the chart provided in the video to determine if you fall within limits. You need 20/20 corrected, so not sure if 6/9 qualifies. Of course it’s best to consult an aviation doctor regardless.

      Yes you will need corrected vision to 20/20. Your subjects will depend on where you plan on doing your pilot training. Take math for sure.

      Google is your friend. Find schools in the US, check their entry requirements and fees, then figure out how to pay for the flight training

    Hi,
    I had an important question regarding vision for pilot. So I wear contacts to help my near sighted vision since I have around -5.40 for both eyes. However once I wear them I have 20/20. However, I am worried that I won’t past the aviation medical exam because I read that “The standard for near visual acuity (16″) is 20/40 in each eye separately.” Does this mean I can wear my contacts while performing this test or not? I am also 17 and I live in the United States and I need to pass my FAA medical 3rd class exam to fly with my university. I am not sure if the eye requirements gets stricter along the way:/
    Thank you

    • @AviatorInspirations
      @AviatorInspirations  3 месяца назад +1

      My recommendation is to always to see an aviation doctor as they will ease all your doubts. Yes you do wear the contacts when you do the medical to pass the vision test, and that will be put on your license “glasses required” and you will have to keep 2 pairs in your flight bag. Many pilots wear glasses these days, it’s not really a big deal.

    Hello, I was just wondering if you need a college degree or a bachelor’s degree to be accepted in Canada airlines? Is 37 too old to become a pilot if you plan for airlines? What are your chances of being hired if you are 40 already?😢

    • @AviatorInspirations
      @AviatorInspirations  Год назад +2

      Currently no, post secondary is not required for Canadian airlines. I do have a video about training in your 30’s, I think you would find that insightful!

    • @AviatorInspirations
      @AviatorInspirations  5 месяцев назад +1

      As long as you can correct your vision to 20/20, then yes you can become a pilot, so best to have this conversation with an optometrist and then your aviation doctor
