    Ala, so glad I found this video. I have a 2018 EasyMotion Lynx that uses a 36v 16.8Ah 605Wh battery. I was fortunate and bought a second battery for it after I had it for 9 months. I'm about due for a rebuild on the original battery and this hopefully will be a big start. Thnak you!!

    Hello. I'm Eugene. I reset the battery as follows. I took an adjustable source of 60 v. I put on Plus and Minus of the battery. The two big pines, and I started from 0v slowly slowly and done. Activated! Good luck with that

    The BMS has a reset button, but it is inside the case. I have seen a youtube where you can measure out where you drill for access to the button. Then cover with duct tape.

    Hi Alan. Appreciate your efforts here. I've just ordered a replacement battery for my 36volt 12AH Neo29er.(the older curved model) Been experiencing cut outs after the battery gets to about half charge. Believe its called Voltage Sag. At considerable expense the battery should arrive next week, minus the outer casing which I'm informed should simply change over. I wouldn't mind having a crack at repair of the old unit if that's achievable. I'll be waiting with great interest for your next installment. Regards Bryce

    Hi Alan, Alan here. Did you every have any luck fixing with the different BMS, or able to find replacement parts? I tried contacting BH but they have not even bothered to reply. I am sure I can fix myself and do not want to keep shelling out soo much money for batteries that keep having issues. Thank you, and great videos. Appreciate it.

    Hi Alan, enjoying your videos, is there going to be follow up to this video?
    Where can i find more information (forums, pictictures or videos) about terdown for older (curved) battery? thanks

    Hi Alan, I am on the fence about what ebike to buy. I came across a leftover 2015 Evo Jet models from Easymotion for a significant discount. It has the older 36v system. One of my concerns is their proprietary casing would make it hard for anyone besides the manufacturer to sell a replacement battery. Once they decide to drop it. You are out of luck. What are your thoughts?
    For about the around the same price I can get a Juiced 48v Crosscurrent. It seems to be standardized across several models. Would you go with that instead?

      Hi the 36V model is fine... their batteries are reasonable and good quality, you should be fine

    I have an Evo 27.5 bike. Are there any other batteries that fit and work on this bike?

    Thanks for the video. I came across a uses 2014 Neo Cross. It doesn't have a battery. Took it to a bike shop and everything works when you put in a battery. I have a lead on a 48 volt battery from a Neo Nitro battery and charger at a great price.
    My question is will I damage the Neo Cross electric components by putting in a 48 volt battery instead of a 36 volt? You mentioned you tried it and it worked. Any long term damage I can do to the bike?
    Thanks,
    Mike

      HI its a good question, I don't know the exact answer but I dont think it would harm the controller or hub motor. My issue is the firmware needs to be changes for the controller ro see the correct voltage levels or it just stays in the lower assist level (limp mode)

    • @mwhferrari

      Thanks. What do you think about taking the 48 volt pack apart and reconfiguring to a 36? If both packs are the same dimensions, theoretically, it should work. I'd probably need to replace the bms. Could I use an off the shelf BMS?

    • @alanfalck1184
      @alanfalck1184  7 лет назад

      I have also thought of this and it solves many problems, FYI the 48v Pack contains 1 less cell the 36v, you will also need to totally rewire the entire pack for a 10s configuration.

    Sorry to keep bothering you. What are your thoughts on adding a second battery to run in parallel? Is the computer able to be reprogrammed to a higher, say 20 Ahr, setting? Could I just splice into the red and black wires on the battery side of the white plug?
    Thanks

    • @alanfalck1184

      I really need a second battery to improve the range on long steep rides, so this is less of a requirement for me, check out the Speed Hack video for adding in parallel

    Hi. Excellent videos. I have a Neo Jet and the battery got shorted for a sec which seems to have blown the BMS. Did you ever find replacements? I don't think i have the knowledge to charge and use it without a bms.

    I saw on a blog some one connected in series a ten volt battery resulting in a higher top speed. My bike is a little slow for my liking.

      @alanfalck1184  4 года назад +2

      Yea I think I saw the same clip, if you can get your hands on a 48v batt (fore a 36v bike) this will give you a lot more power, but you will need to find a higher voltage mains charger as well

  • @trainluvr

    Thanks. I took the cover off of my battery after it started behaving erratically, but its too complicated in there for me. The battery reprocessor wants 477 dollars to deal with it. The damn thing is less than two years old.

      Hi I have now tested my 48v battery with no BMS (Battery Management System) Totally bypassed the entire BMS board, it is working just fine. I'm building my own charger and balancer, I'll upload a new video this weekend. Is your Battery a 36V ? What is the problem you are having ? Which model of Bike do you have ?

      I have the Neo Extreme and Neo Jumper and interchange three batteries. The batttery in question has suffered a couple of crashes onto pavement. After working fine for a few weeks, it now shuts down after about five miles, even though I had 4 or 5 bars. The store I get service at doesnt have the BH diagnostic tool. Any suggestions?

      Check the red and black spade conectors onto fhe socket that goes to the bike ... its showen on my video at the end ... these often are loose and fail under load

      You were able to use the 48v battery on a 36volt bike?

    • @alanfalck1184
      @alanfalck1184  7 лет назад

      Hi I have done some initial testing with the 48 Batt but the power meter just flashes, it seems to think the battery is discharged and limits the output. I hope there is a way to change the monitoring voltage range on the display? I should be posting an update this coming weekend.

    Hey Alan hope you see this comment , I have a BH easy motion Evo 19 and my battery isn't charging. On the bottom of my battery pack there is a button to check the battery level but only the 4th light flashes out of 5 total lights. Does this mean my battery is dead ? Is there a reset button on these battery packs ? Thanks

    • @alanfalck1184
      @alanfalck1184  4 года назад +1

      Hi it's probably the BMS or the pack needs to be manually balanced.. there is a BMS reset button coverd in another video blog I'll include the link

    how can you by pass the bms ?

    • @alanfalck1184
      @alanfalck1184  7 лет назад

      Hi bypassing the BMS is easy, you jut run wired from the pack to the connector, the main problem then becomes how do you monitor the recharging with no BMS. If you have a dedicated balanced charger like a Trilogy it wont support a S14 pack. My problem is also made worse in that running with a 48v battery on a 36v bike means the bikes display on the bike handlebar display (just flashes) Then I need to also monitor the discharge so I don't run the cells falt. I aim to use a little LED monitor with a low limit alarm for this. I use a chinese External BMS to charge .... I better put the video out it easier then trying to explain this in words.

    Why there are any bms, cause either not the bike or the charger wont use them. So The charger can overload The batts, and The bike can underload them without knowing whats happening inside the cells.. so stupid and cheap, and not cheap at the same time.
