I've owned this bike for almost 2 years. Honestly it's been a lot of fun. I have taken it on trails, gone off a couple jumps, and ridden 40miles on a single charge (lowest power assist setting). I haven't had any problems with the bike frame or build. I did upgrade the pedals but that's really it. Now in the 2 years of ownership I have had the bike charger die, luckily I was still under warranty and got it replaced free of charge. 2 months ago my battery died (still under warranty) and I'm in the process of getting a new one. Unfortunately due to coronavirus easy motion can't ship a battery from overseas right now so I've been out of luck. Not sure if anyone else has had the same issues
Was visiting a local ebike shop to look at a used Motiv Shadow and the manager showed me this EVO bike and it was on consignment for only $1900! The story goes the Buyer got it for his wife but after several rides she wanted something else so he was selling it. Great price and the bike was spotless. The manager said he would put new commuter friendly tires on for me. The Buyer had put Maxxis Hookworms on it, which were fine IMO. Sweet ride, but the AWD is overkill for my purposes and it's pedal assist only although no delay.
Sweet, sounds like it could be what you are looking for since this has the throttle... are you okay with twist or did you want to try trigger throttle?
I bought it today (second hand)! This is a good bike. I only wish it has a larger than 500Wh battery option, and fenders, as after the purchase I got into the rain and the water from the front wheel went straight into my face. The back was not much dryer.
Very cool bike and extremely well done video. These are the kind of bikes I'm very interested in along with cargo type bikes. Keep up the great work, and now onto the cargo trike video.
I like your reviews, and you're usually really good at handling the camera. That said, I couldn't watch the segment with the phone because I was getting motion sick. Next time you film a phone in your hand, please refrain from using that hand to gesture as you talk. :)
Do you so the The peace that plugs on to the battery itself my son head pot despite used and did not come with this piece also how much our batteries usually
It would be nice to know what actual percent of assistance each level provides for all the bikes u review. Especially since the bike manufacturers are removing the throttles from the bikes which sucks. Some of us have bad knees.
The bike is really beautiful i love the design, it only needs a kickstand and adjustable handle bar, and a stronger motor ofcourse :-) beside that i really love the design of the easy motion ebikes.
Ha! Right... and a carbon Lauf suspension fork, carbon post, larger disc brake rotors with heat sinks and a dropper... why not go full suspension too! Man... so many cool options out there when you really dig in but the price... oh the price :P
Thanks Zayd, I had more time with this bike and enjoyed taking it on actual soft/unstable terrain vs. some of my other reviews where there's only a parking lot :/
Yeah! Awesome to see a finely tuned great looking bike that's unique like this... so many times it seems like companies don't experiment or have the same range of products that Easy Motion has offered this year, I love their 2WD fat ebike too :D
Nice bike. And since the Auto-GPS mode seems to be giving a variable power assist rate, can you use the phone app to manually configure the different assist levels, such as the Bosch Nyon systems? Thanks Court
A bit more info I´ve found: the "Manual" mode seems to be able to let you adjust the exact amount of power you want, using a percentage, which is pretty cool: www.electriccyclery.com/easy-motion-bluetooth-users-manual-part-1/ (Point 12) It remains to be seen if the bike "remembers" the setting while using the regular control panel (not the phone) and if you can do it for every power assist level, like the Nyons do.
That makes sense, would be frustrating if you were getting way more boost than wanted and had no way to tone it down even if you were going to arrive with extra power. Thanks for the link! Electric Cyclery has a great site and Kevin (the owner) is cool, lets me review his stuff pretty frequently :D
No problem. And it is frustrating, indeed, but surpisingly, and AFAIK, no other popular manufacturer allows you to do this (Bosch Intuvia, Yamaha, Easy Motion, etc.) other than the Nyon subsystems. So I´d be very interested to know if you ever find out... ;)
I've reached out to the company a few times and they were going to send one to a store nearby but then forgot... I reminded them last week and will check in again soon. I want to review it too!!! Sorry for the delay...

OMG you replied thanks I'm thinking of getting the all black crosscurrent as a first electric bike BTW your reviews are so good well explained.

My Electrified Brompton is sorta All Wheel Drive. Front Hub Motor and Conventional Chain Drive in the rear. ;-)

All Hub motors should be single speed. Mid drives you need to change gears. You can ride up hills in 20th gear up steep hills with a hub motor.

Perhaps it would be better to fix the camera on a boom side of the rear wheel. Then we could see the whole bike during the journey.
Very good review. thank you !

what's do you think is bikes of the year 2016...thoughts? I guess there's a few categories and price brackets
I have created a list of my favorite ebikes for 2016 and 2015 here if it helps: electricbikereview.com/top-10-electric-bikes/
Sweet bike this one, sweet indeed!

Excellent machine, but the charger- key sockets are very badly placed.
Yeah... lots of room for improvement there ;)
