A beautiful horse for a beautiful man. It doesn't surprise me that Landon was good with animals. I especially loved the bit where he gives Cooch a cup of coffee.
I always loved the way he mounts by just holding onto the pommel and then somehow swinging up without using the stirrup. It looks like it shouldn’t be possible but he makes it look effortless.
Love Bonanza, Cochise & Michael . All 4 of the main cast had Beautiful horses no doubt but i believe Little Joe & Cochise were the best combination & the most popular on Bonanza of the 4 pairings which is understandable they were A great combination together. And proof of that is the fact that I have seen a few different tributes to little Joe & Cochise but none what so ever of the other 3 cast members & their horses so it's no doubt that they were definitely the most popular pairing on Bonanza. So I want to Thankyou for creating this amazing tribute to an amazing team. #1little joe fan always ♡
I watched Bonanza from when it was first shown (when I was 6) Fell in love with Cochise, first and the boy who rode him, next Nothing has changed in over 50 years. Great tribute to their terrific partnership
I was very sad when I learned that there were at least 4 or 5 different 'Cochises' over the run of the series and the first Cochise had to be put down after it was knifed in its stall by a deranged intruder. POOR COCHISE!!!!!!!!!
in April 1965 it was my 5th birthday my mum bought me a horse ornament it was a pinto with a cowboy saddle and a silver chain for the bridle. I called it cochise. the ornament is now 55 years old and is my prized possession now when I see reruns of bonanza and little Joe riding cochise I think thats my horse
Liked all the characters in Bonanza. Without any of them it just wouldn't have been Bonanza. But Little Joe, was my favorite. My cousins My sister and some of my brothers friends used to call my brother "Little Joe". He looked just like him, of course it was Michel Landon, but he was the greatest. My other brother was called "Hoss" because he resembled Dan Blocker. I had two famous brothers but all in all I loved Little Joe and his horse "Cochise". They were magnificent!
One of my favorite videos yet!!! All featuring the GORGEOUS (inside & out) Young Little Joe! And featuring one of the reasons I love him, he is perfection with Cochise!🌹❤️ 😍 😘
Good to see that it seemed to be the same horse in all of clips, if you watch some episodes closely you can see they used different horses, some had a white tail instead of black. I looked it up and they say that there was a total of six horses that played the part of Cochise.
So adorable!!! Especially the last bit at the end :) I wondered where did you get your footage of Marie My Love? I'm dying to watch it and can't find it anywhere! But anyways, the vid was too cute....I really liked it when Joe gave Cochise water in his hat :)
It was sweet when cochise would drop off joe when he was injured and when joe shared his morning coffee and when cochise or pa were there when something was wrong
There were 11 or so maybe 14 different Cochise horses after the original was stabbed in that stable. Over the 14 years that BONANZA was on. It says so in the BONANZA Archives about the show. Also the Stallion was actually ridden and used by Michael LANDON in the episode of the STALLION., In the later years of BONANZA, it says that also in the Archives. He rode the Cochise horse himself in the PURSUED episodes also part one and two of THE PURSUED. ELEVEN DIFFERENT COCHISE HORSES IS CORRECT OVER 14 YEARS.
I was trying to find out what happened to Cochise well heres the story "During the sixth year in October 1964, a deranged intruder broke into the Fat Jones Stable when everyone was asleep and stabbed the Paint and a few of the others horses very badly. Some of the other horses the vet was able to save, but the Paint and the others had to be euthanized. Michael was very saddened by this and put out a reward, but the authorities never apprehended the killer." I hope he burns in HELL.
I just read this on the Bonanza website and I couldn't believe somebody would do that to that beautiful horse... of all the horses so I know there was Trigger, and I know there were others but I would have to say Cochise is my all-time favorite horse in any Western he was so beautiful... yeah well and Michael wasn't too bad either LOL
You can tell the difference between Michael Landon and Lorne Greene with how they feel towards their horse. Greene wasn't found of horses and it definitely shows. Landon was a natural
I will never forget the morning they found Cochise dead at the stables where they kept the Bonanza horses. Someone broke in and slaughter him. The horse that he rode after him was a lot younger and Michael had a hard time controlling him. All the shows that you see Cochise raying you are watching him on the new horse. Because Cochise never did that Pinto was a gentle soul.
+jbt3618 I was about 7 at the time so it much have been 64 or 65. I just remember Dan calling my dad and saying Michael's horse had been killed and his horse had been injured but was not hurt badly. Then that night on the news they said something about it.
There were 13 or 14 different Cochise horses over the 14 years that Bonanza aired on television. Michael Landon did the most riding also in the shows. Terrible what happened to that one in the stables. Archives said that they tried to find whom did it.
at the 2min,7:45, 8min, 8:50 place what episode was that? I like the part where he used his hat for a bucket and when Little Joe gave him coffee LOL :)
Jill Glazier : Don't know about the rest of the music, but from 5:39 on it's the song "Sylvia" by 70's Dutch band Focus. Not the most likely choice for this particular vid, but a wonderful piece of music nevertheless by these incredible Dutch Masters, better known for their hit-single "Hocus Pocus": ruclips.net/video/g4ouPGGLI6Q/видео.html
@@avisjohnson6185 Aw, hope you're okay! I've been looking for ya. It's called Just Joe, Bonanza, and Fanfiction Forever. See ya there I hope. 👍 Take care.
I haven’t seen the episode in awhile where Ben gave Joe that black stallion, but from what I do remember Joe pretty much put Cochise aside over his excitement of his new horse. Of course Cooch forgave Joe and took him back after the black horse was killed
Just started watching Bonanza great actors ,horses, hoss is great he makes me smile Landon is a natural on a horse
A beautiful horse for a beautiful man. It doesn't surprise me that Landon was good with animals. I especially loved the bit where he gives Cooch a cup of coffee.
Love this. There's a real bond there that is very special to observe.
This started my love of black/white horses. Never did I think I'd ever have one. My dream came true. Awesome Tennessee Walker.
My favorite cowboy on my favorite horse EVER. Excellent vid!! Thanks so much.
I always loved the way he mounts by just holding onto the pommel and then somehow swinging up without using the stirrup. It looks like it shouldn’t be possible but he makes it look effortless.

Joe and cochise and the gift episode white stallion

Your very welcome :)
What was the short clip where Ben is riding Cochise?
appears to be pinto, not the Paint breed. There's a difference.

Yeah, he dumped Coch' in a heartbeat in one of the last seasons when the old man gave him a stallion for his birthday.
Dropsy517 nope your wrong - cochise was stabbed to death the sixth season of bonanza - through season 12 there where several doubles used .
+Dropsy517 as MsNumber1rider said joe rode a new paint horse after cochise was murdered by a bastard.
I haven’t seen the episode in awhile where Ben gave Joe that black stallion, but from what I do remember Joe pretty much put Cochise aside over his excitement of his new horse. Of course Cooch forgave Joe and took him back after the black horse was killed

A guy horse
In Marie my Love LJ asks his pa if Cochise is okay and Pa says 'She's fine', but in other eps he refers to Cochise as he.
