I also believe that this is also a true story. Relating directly to this because the Mom didn't want her child to make friends and she wanted her/him all to herself.
When I was growing up, there was a Chinese restaurant in the south area of the city that we frequented as a family. We stopped going, and I never knew why. Years later, when I asked my parents why we never went there anymore, my dad explained the place got shut down because someone spotted a cat's head in the kitchen. To this, my grandmother explained, "Other Asian cultures consider it a delicacy. Let's not judge others." Even at the tender age of 11 of 12, I wanted to believe that her point was about culture differences - e.g. how in our Western world, we have cuisine that other parts of the world find offputting. In reality, I think that grandmother was just racist against Chinese people. (FWIW, I think the Japanese-Chinese divide was pretty strong for her generation of Asian-Americans.)
Ok this is actually so awful. 😣 when I saw that dog and knew what would happen to it, I started crying. How could someone make a video like this? It doesn’t matter if it’s fake, because children will click on that video not knowing what it means, they’re going to be traumatized for the rest of their lives. Someone has to report this. It’s sick.

Weeks before this loads of missing cat posters were up in the area. The owners were grabbing up the cats and then feeding them to the customers and thankfully it was found out but not before a load of pets were being consumed by unaware restauranteurs.
