I can tell you why everyone likes sanwa for fightings. Because it's the default joystick that comes with arcade sticks and never tried anything else. Seimitsus are way better that sanwas. Even for fighting games. There's no reason to prefer a larger throw and engage in a joystick. You need fast and precise inputs.i changed mine to an ls-56 and I play way better. Also I have an ls-40 and is amazing too.

Does the LS-56 have even less throw I'm on the LS-40 right now and its really close but I'm already thinking how I can modify it for slightly less throw... it's very close!

@@crimsom2977 the ls-56 has less engage(the activation of microswitches) but a little bit more throw(the contact on the restrictor). You can modify the throw if you buy the Kowal mod. You can make the 56 really, reallly short. Personally I prefer it default. But if you mod it you will have maybe the shortest engage and throw stick I ever tried.

so you would say the micro switches on the Ls-56 are less mushy? like more consistent activation? or is that just because the leverage of the longer throw?

@@crimsom2977 the microswitches on the 56 activates quicker than the 40. On the 40 you have to move a little bit the stick before they activate. On the 56 it's almost instant. That's why I prefer it. It's so responsive. I play mostly shmups and both works really well for the genre, but the 56 is better on my opinion. Your ship moves instantly.

@@crimsom2977 Ls-56 has medium throw though the feel is very responsive and clicky its not recommended for Shmups for nothing. I personally use for Fightinggames and Shmups/metroidvania type games. JLF feel to fast and free too me i do not like it either. I like Ls-32 as well but prefer Ls-56 more overall was thinking of trying Ls-40 out of curiosity.

I have an ls-40 and at least for me it's terrible for Street fighter. The throw is too short (possibly the shortest throw of the seimitsu range of sticks). However the actuation is very quick and I find it''s great for shooters and snk fighters.

      What about tension?
Is it equal to Sanwa 2lb spring or Crown st35 grommet?

I have an idea: stick with a Sanwa JLF joystick lever, an eight-way restrictor gate and Seimitsu buttons. Sanwa and Hayabusa buttons are oversensitive, the Hayabusa joystick levers are way too loose and the Seimitsu joystick levers are way too stiff.

I've found the stock LS-40 to be the best overall lever. The LS-62 is good, too and has an even quicker engage and shorter throw.
Sanwa is trash. Playing any SNK game with it will have you wanting to break the controller.

I think the top Korean players in Tekken use this one. Could be a competitive advantage.

@@crimsom2977 Yeah stock is tiring to use.
I might just get a bigger actuator than getting a Seimitsu joystick.
Fastest i can do is 5 frames forward then quickly down back, while i can do the same motion using a keyboard/mixbox for 1 frame forward.
