My first knife bought with my own money was a CRKT M16-14 Tanto blade with serrations. Still have it today and it serves as one of my beatter EDCs for yard and farm work.
A lot of peoples first was that 3” spear-point with Zytel scales haha. My buddy got his about 20 years ago at his first job and still has and uses it. Lost a little bit of the tip but other than that works fine still. CRKT knives last, and are inexpensive for the most part. I want to try a Tuna after watching this. Or a Tuna Compact. Both look like great slicers.
The Drifter with the steel handle scales is still my fave CRKT. I lost mine about 3 weeks ago and just got the replacement in the mail. So clean, simple, subtle, pretty, sharp, elegant - a joy to have in my pocket
I just got the 3” Tanto M16-02SS and I love it. I have the bigger 4” too but always reach for the small one. Like a stronger Elementum Tanto. I’ve never got a CRKT and not liked it. Also my oldest most used knives are all Cricket 🦗. They are a great brand.
I've been using a variation of the m16 for almost 2 decades. Everytime I think about giving something else a shot I come back to it. Glad you guys included it. Super underrated knife
They really need to get into new steels. They have some amazing designs. Higher-end steel would really work for them. Imagine a CEO in S30v and G10......
Many of us have lamented the terrible material choices of CRKT for years. So many amazing designs and innovations and almost all have been put together half-@$$ed with poor materials.
The only reason you can't see anything wrong with it is due to sheer ignorance as regards to steel alloys and performance. The lower wear resistance and frequent sharpenings made me want to avoid 8cr like the plague. I'd rather take Sandvik 12c27 over that Chinese crap any day.
@@angelus_solus no. Ur ignorant for trashing someone's preference and opinion. If someone likes a steel that u don't doesn't mean ignorant. Settle down and stop being a lil wussy boi
I just bought the AUX and Tuna because of this video. I had the Tan M16 with Veff serrations when I was a wharf rat/commercial fisherman. Loved that knife and I fell in love with CRKT. Being from Oregon, just makes the love for CRKT stronger. Thanks for the awesome video and knowledge guys.
Thumbs up for the intro alone. I picked up the Piet when it was first released and on special. This is a great little knife and I've been very happy with it. For the money it's a great value for a little slicer.
Tuna all the way!! I've been carrying my Tuna for about 6 to 7 months and it's just perfect, it always does what I need it to do and it's great for EDC.
My favorite big CRKT was the 3.8” CK Folder.. beast of a knife. Currently EDC’ing a M16-02SS the 3” Tanto.. great heavy duty small and thin knife. Action is great for copper washers. I have a few like Tighe and Drifter.. an M20 somewhere. All are strong and dependable. Most have poor clips.. but they function.
I have a bev-edge . I bought it for the action. It is a great fidget knife. Once you overcome the detent, it is instantly open. For some reason it is so satisfying to play with.
I carry the CRKT S.P.E.W Folts Design around my neck and the CRKT Fossil Ikoma Design in my right pocket. Both have G10 grips and are really good looking and reliable EDC knives. I know the Fossil isn't liked by a lot of people but I love carrying it. I wear relaxed fit jeans and it isn't to heavy or bulky for me. And I honestly just love it. The S.P.E.W is definitely my favorite of the 2.
Yo, if I ever end up your state we all gotta chill at BHQ. You guys got me back into the passion of knives and now I have a Benchmade Super freek, a bugout, a Manix 2, a civivi in s35vn, a ka-bar TDI and an Izula II WITH a tek lock. Thanks for hurting my wallet guys. Love ya'll!
Picked up a crkt ceo the other day and man do I love this knife. Need to get m16 and a few others. I actually carry it more then my new and first benchmade because I love it so much. Thnks Bhq2for the suggestion. Oh yeah...it's perfect for shirt pocket carry, especially when you pockets are filled with other knives, flashlights, pens, multi-tools etc.
Crkt is my favorite brand (always look for sales). I have a m16 big dog tanto in desert scheme, gravity assisted flip, which has a liner lock/auto lock feature that is essential in protecting one's fingers from being chopped off/heavily damaged by accidentally closing in your hand during rough use. Which is a serious danger if you end up using a cheaper brand's assisted flip knife that doesn't have a good safety liner lock. The safest option, but not the most convenient, is having a fixed blade
The first knife I bought as an adult (not my Boy Scout knife) was a CRKT F4-12, and I love that little knife. I have a Swindle that I like a lot too - it snaps open really well. My most recent addition is the Bev-Edge: bad name, good knife. It’s like a Pilar with a flipper and a bottle opener.
M16 knife is a classic, you can get anything you want with all the variations of it. Probably a little big for most people but if you have a job that needs to be done you can’t go wrong with it. I love the look of the ceo just because it’s a knife that doesn’t look like a knife and in an office setting no one would know you got it even if it’s in your top pocket and once you use it and put it back people would forget about it straight away
I have an M-16 I found (tried to find owner to no avail) and it is one of my favorite knives. That's saying something because I'm a drop point plain edge kind of guy and this is a partially serrated tanto style. I think I need another CRKT.
My favorite CRKT’s that I own: Hootenanny, Crossbones, LCK, Hollow-Point, Razel, Tighe Fighter, Jettison, Ripple, Swindle, and Remedy. Some that I haven’t handled but want to are the Pilar, Homefront, Avant, CEO, M-16, and Caligo.
I was a CRKT fanboy for a long time. They and Gerber are the brands who got me into knives. I'd love either the 'Tuna' and/or the 'Piet' in a mid-tech steel.
I think I’ve had the M16 knives more than any other.. I’ve had at least 6...Carried the aluminum 04SF for 8 years, sad sad day when I lost it. It was a warranty replacement directly from CRKT back in 2010. They surprised me when they replaced a $30 M16 with their nicest M16. I beat the crap out of that thing on a daily basis, easily sharpened steel and positive grip feel.
My Favorite CRKT is actually the crossbones had for a couple years now and its still just as reliable even though i would like them to switch out the bearings for a newer easier model
@@BladeHQ yeah i didnt know the bearings were loose in the knife so went to open it to clean it and they fell out lol still work without them just now the centering is just off
I love the minimalist I used to have the Bowie version but I lent it to someone and never got it back. I plan on getting a new one and a cleaver one. I edc the Ikoma fossil without the serrations and I love it. Just hit it with a strop once a week and it’s good

My favorite crkt knife is the minimalist. I carry it rn along with a gerber flatiron and a buck outlaw. It works on my basketball shorts scout carry and I like it.
I have the Tuna and love it. Great blade shape. They actually nailed the heat treat on the 8CR14MOV to where it stays sharper than most other 8CR blades. I’d love it in a Sandvik steel like 12C27 or 14C28N. D2 chips and rusts easily. Better still in S20v or S35vn.
I have the Squid and love it. Very comfortable for such a small knife. Useful and great for office use in which larger knives would be off putting. Also very robust. I’m going to spring for the Tuna. It fascinates me. I’ll forgive the 8CR14MOV.
