CRKT is one of my favorite knife makers because their price points are so good. Inexpensive with no compromise on quality. The CRKT Flat Out is my go to self-protection tool. I use it for nothing else.
Always have been a top brand for me personally, I love the variety they are adding this year with maiden USA designs as well and the premium models. They are knocking it outta the park!
I'm a CRKT lover too but I don't know where you get that good price points assumption. Sure they made quality products but CRKT is really behind in terms of materials and you pay a hard price for their delayed minimal evolution. They have a really poor marketing team.

In our time I've noticed that knives are often designed to make feel more secure its owner, I'm not saying it's negative & many companies are doing it. Many knives design in general are just aiming at human nature in urban reality instead of being a tool in Nature, but it would be strange if all knives would have a "Native" design. :)
Agreed! I have something like that--it's a Gerber, half-serrated with grippy handle inserts. Found it years ago (at a gun show, I think), for 20-something dollars. Long discontinued--wish I would have bought two. Something similar is the S&W M&P "Special Ops" 4-inch assisted flipper (with G-10 handle), my usual EDC. On Amazon, usually $28/or on sale around $22. Solid knives. No regrets this time--I bought three of them!
If you are inpressed with this years crkt knives, you either havent been collecting very long, like being ripped off or rarely actually use a knife. I guess they're going to really be SOL entirely soon when Taiwan becomes a part of China officially again.

I can only find the lower end CRKT models in Malaysia with the Squid D2 blade being the best. I wish I could see the Magnacut Michaca here.
