Awsome overall products you guys have.I have an old cold steel base ball bat I have beating on cars, trees ,rocks and a few other things I can not quite go into.lol .Your products are made to take a beating and keep on going without breaking. Thanks for making high quality items Cold Steel.....
The Japanese character for Ta, た, is pronounced with the flatter “tah” sound. Japan doesn’t have the phoneme for æ (as in “cat”). So if it’s of Japanese origin, I’d naturally say the word “tahnto” unless I wanted to throw some southern twang on it.
I think there needs to be a video called “If Blade HQ employees were knives” and let the employees chose which knife someone would be. It would be comical and interesting 😅
Kurt would be the bug out, Jamie the Green auto Benchmade that he loves and Zac....I feel like he would really debate btw the classic Swiss Army, the Leatherman, or Tom Brown Tracker .... then again they might all just end up a group of 🧜♀️ Mermaids lol
I've got a Cold Steel with two pocket clips on it. It's called the Grik, the reason why I have the two on there is because it fills out the handle some more. When you look at the knife you'll get it.
Kurt, the Cold Steel Recon Tanto was my first "combat" knife that I bought after I graduated USMC School of Infantry and Infantry Training at Camp Geiger, Camp Lejuene, NC. Still have it to this day
I have a Cold Steel Magnum Tanto San Mai with a 9" blade I bought in the '80s. It has survived everything I have done with it, and it still sharpens up just like it was brand new. I have it taped upside down on my LBE strap so it's always there.
Greetings from Finland, been carrying the Bailout for 6 months and it will take something REALLY special for me to change it out. Love the show, keep it up!
Tahhhnto. It's the same sound as you make in the name of both Japanese/samurai swords; katana and wakizashi. And, Battle Hulk for that Bailout was perfect. 👏 Pocket clips...two is one and one is none?
I have a lot of Cold steel knives. my recon 1 tanto blade is my everyday carry. It just feels right and everything else doesn't feel the same. I have two clips on my Spartan. sometimes it's the only knife I carry or sometimes it's my self-defense knife along with an EDC in the other pocket so I can carry it on either side depending on what the function is.
I have a Voyager tanto and a recon tanto. both L size .. In my opnion I like the look of the Cold steel tanto knives the best of all the knives showed...and they are strong and hold a edge very well. Love it!
I have two pocket clips on my XL COLD STEEL Vaquero VOYAGER....i do this to be able to carry it in the regular standard way as well as reverse grip with the blade facing forward.
I picked up 4 Civivi Fractures and LOVE THEM!! The orange drop point Fracture is actually my new upland hunting knife. Pick them up before they're gone...limited run!
Rad blades today! In the past week I've purchased 4 blades from you guys and I'm browsing for my next...you created a problem for me and I'm not even mad!
There are 3, either one of the Cold Steel Recons, or the Kershaw Shuffle II, I have a drop point shuffle and for the small size I beat it up and it comes back for more.
Great video as always guys!! So I spoke with someone there named Dallas via email the other day with some questions and Dallas was super helpful and cool! Soo Shout in for Dallas; from random knife dude! Haha I wanna know if you guys could feature something from the Brand DEFCON? I’m getting a Defcon Valkyrie in M390 for my birthday in a couple days and curious about the brand and they seem to be kind of a sleeper. Just a request/suggestion to see one at some point. Thanks, knife on!
Should do a episode on good Gym/workout and running knifes!!!!! What do you guys and girls take to the gym or on the run? A Ontario Rat 2 has been my go to for years but I took out some of the screws to help lighten it.
CRKT Minimalist. I'm not a neck knife guy, but I haven't found something I like that'll stay in my gym shorts. Thought about the Spyderco ARK too for corrosion resistance, but haven't pulled the trigger yet.
Blade HQ Tonto was the Lone Ranger’s faithful companion; Tanto refers to a short blade sword. The interesting part is the blade point style is called a kissaki point and was designed to punch under or through armor. Saying Taantoe is a more correct. This style of blade was also said to be the choice for Samurai to commit Seppuku to save face from defeat in battle or other failures to follow the Samurai code. However, it does hold up much better than pointy blades when punching thru tough materials. Cold Steel knives use their own designed point that is not quite a traditional Kissaki style point. I have two early Cold Steel models one uses V10 and one uses German D2 steel. New blade steels are not always better than older ones; in some cases they are just what one knife maker chooses to use at the time. Some steels used in the past were more costly or difficult to use. They were replace for that reason; not that they were inferior steels in anyway.
@@itstime5390 Reply to itstime@ When was a kid; I always gazed into knife display cases at the hardware store and wanted one of every kind. I wasn’t very old; when my Mom bought me a pocket knife with Rusty and Rin-Tin-Tin on it. It had the Morse-Code on the other side. I was so little I had no chance of getting it open. I carried it everywhere for a long time. My Pappy would open it; and under his watchful eye and let me try to peel an apple. He could peel an apple and have one continuous piece of peel from beginning to end. I’m still trying to perfect that trick. The day came when I got that knife open; I felt like I was man. The little problem was after whittling sticks and cutting hay bales loose I didn’t know how to close the blade safely. Pappy always did it for me. Well; I cut my finger closing the blade; I had to run to Granny for medical assistance. When I watch the knife flicking show they do on knife channels; I wonder how many people get cut playing with sharp knives. That makes me laugh every time I see them doing it. Thank you for your kind reply. I still can’t stop fooling with knives and likely never will.
As to the double pocket clips. I can see it being utilized for LEO’s who generally carry a pocket knife weak side/concealed carry weak side. But carried strong side off duty/non-concealed. Although most probably just have two knives for the right occasion.
I missed my first opportunity for the tanto pm2. I check the website everyday even though I have it email and text notify me when they come in stock again. I can't wait to get my hands on it!
Double-clipping?...I did it on my Cold Steel Air Lite (comes in tanto...) and it didn't make an ergonomic mess of things - quite symmetrical, and I can pocket it in any of four pockets. Better? No. Serves a different purpose? Yes.
Sometimes I will put a pocket clip on the opposite side of my spyderco harpy. You would be surprised at the extra grip you get from a clip being on both sides.
The SOG.Vision would have been complete with s glass breaker. SOG knives are incredible and very underated. With regards to the lock it makes sense why the blade does not flop close because it protects the blade's edge! Think about it!
Kind of excessive, but I used to carry the Spyderco Yojimbo 2 with both clips for a while (clips mounted for left and right tip up). The ergo's on the knife didn't make it uncomfortable at all, surprising enough. I was working as a lab assistant so it was really convenient to be able to put the knife in either pocket if one of my hands were tied up doing something else and the supervisor walked in randomly.
I have a CRKT M16 Tanto, which has been part of my EDC for over a decade, and it's such a fierce and potent knife. Just looking at that tanto tip and I'm like, "Yeah, that'll take care of this..." I have my eyes on the Bailout; I'd like to see a different color variance though. I think a plain-edge tanto is a great EDC, and the Bailout is a premier knife that really holds its own!
15:35 I own the half serrated tanto Recon 1. False, the screws on only one side are long enough the attach a clip. You can try to buy additional length screws but I fear both sides will block eachother.
I’m a Cold Steel fan and think the recon 1 folder rules the roost but I can’t carry it EDC anymore because the G10 has devoured all of my pockets. I can’t beleive there was no love given to the new Buck GCK, which I just ordered from you😉. I feel like they really hit a home run with this knife in both blade configs.
I'd like to add a few tanto knifes to the list ... 1. SOG Vulcan I Arc-Lock Manual (Tanto Plain) VL-03, 2. CRKT Carson M16-14D Desert Camo Tanto Flipper Knife, and 3. CRKT Tighe Tac Two Tanto Flipper Button Lock Knife ... I really like the SOG Vulcan ...
Love the models your showing and am looking forward to the PM 2 Tanto, but out of all of them my favorite knife of all time is the CS Recon 1 Tanto. If I had to go to war, that knife is going with me.
I got a Civivi Fracture with the drop point when they came out and I love the knife.great feel in the hand and a very slicey blade. A little confused thought. I heard they were supposed to be a single run knife and once they were sold out that was it.
Most of your buyers are from 1977 or before. We represent the most of your customers. We evolve to the new styles and blde shapes but thats what keep us new to all the changes in styles and blade shapes.
I love the CRKT BT-70. It was on my wish list until it was discontinued! Alas, I didn't get to own one. It is beautiful and I like the dragon that is engraved in the scales.
I have an OG Recon Tanto in Carbon V. What a beautiful tank. I’ve chopped trees with it, chipped my car out of over flow lake ice and all sorts of other abusive things.
I've wanted to put 2 clips on many of my cold steels, but only the ones with curved handles come with 2 clips (voyager, espada etc) in addition, even the ones that do come with 2 clips only come with enough screws to mount 1 clip........else I would, because I have left and right hands

How much caffeine do you think Jamie had before shooting this episode?
Blade HQ The correct answer is not enough 😉
A lot!
lets go with a solid guess of enough to kill a horse
Blade hq you’re first
A lot
Yeah guys we love it. Well done.
We love you!
Awsome overall products you guys have.I have an old cold steel base ball bat I have beating on cars, trees ,rocks and a few other things I can not quite go into.lol .Your products are made to take a beating and keep on going without breaking. Thanks for making high quality items Cold Steel.....
Fixed blade Kris please
And we Love Cold Steel!
Cold Steel always makes THE BEST tantos.

Justin Galle thank you. So many people call it a tan- to
FBI Security Van you do know your not the real fbi right?
Justin Galle no I disagree... it’s pronounced tan them toes
Of course I’m the real FBI...
FBI Security Van but your not though
I think there needs to be a video called “If Blade HQ employees were knives” and let the employees chose which knife someone would be. It would be comical and interesting 😅
YES I think Kurt would be the espada XL for the hams
Cole McClure I agree. @BladeHQ make it happen!
Yes please
Cole McClure I don’t know why, but Kurt strikes me as more of a Buck 119.
4th
I say tanto but a lot of people say tanto..... 🤷♂️
😂
Hahaha
Thanks for clearing that up. 😉
me with a sharpening stone and a western tanto - "Oh hey, look, a second tip to round over"
Every tanto is a drop point if you sharpen it enough.😂
Try sharpening it as two blades
We needed the combat "TANTO" of tantos Emerson CQC-15
FuckIt
Grind the tip flat
We all are going to use it as a screwdriver anyway.
the balance between Kurt's enthusiasm and Jamie's objetivity make them a great combination
The PM2 Tanto is such a beautiful/awesome knife! Great video once again Blade HQ (Jamie, Kurt, and everyone behind the scenes)
If you hadn't shown the Recon 1, I would have drafted a sternly worded email!
Phew, dodged a bullet there.
@@BladeHQ Don't make one of the masters mad. He will bring great peril amoungst us all.
I've got a Cold Steel with two pocket clips on it. It's called the Grik, the reason why I have the two on there is because it fills out the handle some more. When you look at the knife you'll get it.
Benchmade Bailout is one of the Best! That Spuderco shown is great

Kurt is correct. Not like the color tan the other way. Aaaaahhh the PM2 tanto! I love mine! You guys are heros for that exclusive.
How does it feel in the pocket?
Jesus. Bring ben back. Been asking blade hq for so long!
I have two pocket clips on my XL COLD STEEL Vaquero VOYAGER....i do this to be able to carry it in the regular standard way as well as reverse grip with the blade facing forward.
The ham-hands guy was saying it correct at first. It's pronounced the same as the lone ranger's partner.
Microtech RULES!!!!!!!!!! That Tanto on the Troodon OTF is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!
I picked up 4 Civivi Fractures and LOVE THEM!!
The orange drop point Fracture is actually my new upland hunting knife.
Pick them up before they're gone...limited run!
Just ordered my first tanto with the recon 1 in serrated tanto! Shows up Tuesday! Pumped!
I own multiple coldsteel recon tanto fixed blades, they just look so cool and are very good for hard use.
My favorite knife model is the CRKT M16-04Z. It's survived many years of mechanic abuse and still keeps going.
Great video as always guys!! So I spoke with someone there named Dallas via email the other day with some questions and Dallas was super helpful and cool! talkinbox they have a neck knife video with ben where he talks about how well you can run with one
Francisco Granados Oh perfect I’ll have to look it up thank you!
Saberizer I just got the CRKT Mininalist the other day so I’ll see how that works out.
I'M SO *STOKED* ABOUT TANTO KNIVES!
Just got my bailout today . I love it👌 its my first tanto and benchmade for that matter

I like Jamie it's nice to see him stepping into the spot light more. He just needs to get his comfort zone.
I missed my first opportunity for the tanto pm2. I check the website everyday even though I have it email and text notify me when they come in stock again. I can't wait to get my hands on it!
One qustion: protech malibu reverse tanto release date? Its been listed as coming soon for longer than coming soon.
Very light weight, ultra smooth action.
my favorite tanto is a camillus tanto in 8.25"(overall length) and I EDC the 6.75"(overall length) version.
Double-clipping?...I did it on my Cold Steel Air Lite (comes in tanto...) and it didn't make an ergonomic mess of things - quite symmetrical, and I can pocket it in any of four pockets. Better? No. Serves a different purpose? Yes.

Currently I do. It but I have put two pocket clips on my cold steel I am ambidextrous and I was carrying it off hand a lot.
Dual-wield pocket clips. That's visionary!
Have the bailout and the recon tanto. That crkt is a pretty sweet knife. That would have to be my pick.
I have 2 Bailouts I could not resist! I bought the regular model and the serrated model, unfortunately my Bailouts did not have glass breakers?
My favorite folder with tanto blade is the cold Steel SR1.
Kind of excessive, but I used to carry the Spyderco Yojimbo 2 with both clips for a while (clips mounted for left and right tip up). I'm subbed and I hardly watch any of these.
This one got me.
Dude your missing out BIG TIME!
Skyler's Vidz, that’s your loss...
15:35 I own the half serrated tanto Recon 1. False, the screws on only one side are long enough the attach a clip. You can try to buy additional length screws but I fear both sides will block eachother.
Should do one on traditional tanto now. I.e. James Williams designs, stedemon shy, kwaiken etc.
I have the benchmade bailout and I usually wear short pants, I have no problem with it
I’m a Cold Steel fan and think the recon 1 folder rules the roost but I can’t carry it EDC anymore because the G10 has devoured all of my pockets.
I can’t beleive there was no love given to the new Buck GCK, which I just ordered from you😉. I feel like they really hit a home run with this knife in both blade configs.

I have a Tanto Benchmade bug out, believe its close to 4in but it's so light it's in my pocket 24/7
I'm not usually a fan of Spyderco design, but that Tanto version is nice
I'm thinking about buying either the cold steel sk5 or the kabar 1245. Which one resists more? Which one has the best sharp retention?
Love the models your showing and am looking forward to the PM 2 Tanto, but out of all of them my favorite knife of all time is the CS Recon 1 Tanto. If I had to go to war, that knife is going with me.
I have been carrying a cold steel prolite tanto for two years and it is workhorse
I got a Civivi Fracture with the drop point when they came out and I love the knife.great feel in the hand and a very slicey blade. A little confused thought. I heard they were supposed to be a single run knife and once they were sold out that was it.
My favorite knifes are the Bechmade 940 and that Baildout
Will there be a PM3 Tanto?
And can you guys get benchmade to make a mini bailout?
Ahh man, everytime i see you guys pull a microtech i wish otf's would be legal here in the netherlands
Most of your buyers are from 1977 or before. We represent the most of your customers. We evolve to the new styles and blde shapes but thats what keep us new to all the changes in styles and blade shapes.
Great banter! Tanto!
I love the CRKT BT-70. It was on my wish list until it was discontinued! Alas, I didn't get to own one. It is beautiful and I like the dragon that is engraved in the scales.
Para 3 tanto needs to be a thing
I have an OG Recon Tanto in Carbon V. What a beautiful tank. I’ve chopped trees with it, chipped my car out of over flow lake ice and all sorts of other abusive things.
If you had to carry one, bailout or pm2 tanto?
Yes, both clips on all my cold steel, all the time!
Double the hot spots = double the fun! 🤣
Great video!
How about a thicker Bailout in Camo lile desert or green camo even winter camo?
I bought the @COLDSTEEL recon tanto because of Kurt and this video. Thanks!
I got a Coldsteel Voyager XL Tanto, and its a beast ! 🗡️
I think you should have mentioned the Kershaw groove. The best EDC tanto assisted folder.
Had a great laugh with the 'dual wielding pocket clip' idea!
I've wanted to put 2 clips on many of my cold steels, but only the ones with curved handles come with 2 clips (voyager, espada etc) in addition, even the ones that do come with 2 clips only come with enough screws to mount 1 clip........else I would, because I have left and right hands
Where bladehq is located how are knife laws like? Are you guys able to carry everything you show or sell?
Thanks. Good fun. Long A tanto? Either way...cool.
I have that exact Kershaw Shuffle 2 and I love it so much. My BFF is a knife girl and she got it for me and I was kinda just like oh cool ya know neat but no big deal. It's SUCH a good little knife though! I use the hell out of it. The geometry makes it stupid easy to get a hair popping edge on it, it's good for just about any cutting task you will run into... it opens beers and it has a flathead/prybar on the back. I abuse it like a nuckle dragged ad-nauseaum and I still haven't messed it up at all. KAI plz make a ZT version or release it in 14c28n and G10 plz!
I have a crkt minimalist tanto, buck outlaw tango on me, along with a gerber flatiron cleaver style.
I'd probably go with the Bailout....mainly because of the aluminum scales. Wish they came in black or blue :)
I have the Kershaw shuffle 2 . I hated it at first. Then decide to give it a longer try and found it was a great utilitarian knife. Although I have yet to use the most over hyped "tool". Aka bottle opener.
Bailout is the most compelling. Too bad it’s so expensive. High price is a standard PM feature.
Love my Benchmade M4 tanto Barrage with assist.
tigh tac two tanto. lots of t's but its a plunger lock tanto running on smooth bearings. one of my number one knives. also its pronounced "tanto"
The grik works perfectly with two pocket clips
I got the black full sized Ka-bar in Tanto, its pretty sweet.
Tanto, that's what I said. Keep on keepin on...
Y'all both had the best choices Cold steel Benchmade
BEST INTRO EVER!
The lack of grind line on the bailout is probably to reduce drag when stabbing or could just be aesthetic
Blade Hq for life!!!!!!
That was an awesome selection, but no Emerson?
Is it true that the 3V bail out has poor edge retention because of low HRC?
That Secure-Ex sheath on the Cold Steel
Check to see if it is fiberglass reinforced before you buy it.
All my Cold Steel sheaths are
It dulls the blade faster than running the blade over copper
Verry annoying when you sharpen or are going to have the knife sharpened.
Unless you know people who can make sheaths.
I actually bought the cold steel tanto at 4pm today. Coming in tomorrow, it's gonna be a great weekend! 🔪🔪🔪
