I received my FCU today and all I did was update the firmware. Rest was fully plug&play with the Fenix 320. No vjoy or anything like that. Everything is working great!
I honestly didn't notice all these frustrating problems until before the update (but rightly the firmware wasn't updated)... once the update is done it's plug and play. requires no configuration or anything! you just need to launch the app after all..
I do have the final product and my issues may come from the Bata SU15 that I´m using. Saying that, the only straight forward plane that I found was the Fenix, everything else is not even recognizing the Winwing FCU... why? I don´t know. I wish I could have someone on the same page as me.....! I really would like some help. Thank you for the video.
I think a sensible question is whether the mini fcu is worth twice as much as the WinWing? My opinion is no, and therefore I would be more than happy with the WinWing.
I love the concept of simplified overhead panel, radio, etc. on the mini, but if I want to build part by part a simplified but a real size cockpit, I think better to buy the 1:1 sized WinWing. I hope WinWing will also introduce more components.
Thanks so much for the follow up. Much much appreciated but with the price of the mini fcu I checked the shipping costs and it’s way way too much so I’ll be happy with the winwing
Works great for the A320 fly by wire. There is a tiny bit of lag but not a dealbreaker. I do wish the lighting of the screen was a bit brighter...even at max brightness setting 255, with my lights on in my room, there is some glare which makes the numbers tougher to see. That said, I'm not a pilot, it could be that the brightness level is authentic and what it's actually like in the cockpit. For the cheaper price relative to other FCUs, it's worth the tradeoff IMO. Plus, usually I'm flying at night (after work on vatsim) so the lights are off in my home cockpit for realism anyway, so the numbers can be seen just fine. Not to mention, living in the US, it arrived in literally just 4 or 5 days with free shipping. Thanks for the great setup tutorial, got this working in 5 minutes thanks to you!
Now I'm not gonna defend Winwing, or say the final product won't have these issues. But, keep in mind you've been given an early test version and issues you face may, or may not, represent the final product.
Hi - just needed to clarify that the unit I had was not an early version, as it was exactly the same as those recieved recently by customers. Obviously as for the tech side of things setting it up, the issue is most likely me, but with no manual/instructions, it didn't make it easy. 👍
I wouldn't of said it was an early test unit, Winwing are now shipping pre orders in certain countries. Easyjetsimpilot hasn't had the unit that long I'm sure he only done the unboxing last week.
It's plug&play with the only issue was that I needed to reinstall the SimApp application. I don't know why I needed to do it but after reinstall, it's just connect and is done. Btw, The unit syncs perfectly with the aircraft and what this means is that everything that shows during the self-test in the place is seen exactly in the winwing unit. It's exactly like the real aircraft.
Thanks for doing the hard work. Having used the real FCU It's nice to have something close to the RW size. Your video really helped get things going quickly now off to test.
I think you have to ask whether the MiniFCU is worth an extra £200.00. So in effect, is it 3 times better than the Winwing? I’ve ordered the latter and I’m planning to stick with my choice. Time will tell whether that’s a good decision!

Thanks for the video. I have 2 Winwings products : the Hotas Orion 2 joystick and throttle quandrant and it's working like a charm and for the price those two pieces are really good. I have to admit that the Sim App pro is not the best hardware setup software in the world but none the less I was able to make my devices work as intended for DSC and MSFS. Can't wait to receive my pre order for the FCU. Cheers.

I just received my wing thing yesterday, thanks for sharing this, it worked initially out of the box but then started playing up so I did the firmware update and ran into the same issues you mentioned, I always make things complicated perhaps others will not have the same issues as me. It's now working properly with the Fenix but not yet the LVFR A330, I am assuming it is supposed to be usable for all Airbus models including the upcoming A380? not sure if it is requiring an update for the A330? I also tried using it with Boeing aircraft, I am assuming it might be usable on all aircraft but not so far that I can tell.
Just saw your videos on this unit tonight as I was preparing to get it. Thanks for this video and the one from 3 days ago, very insightful indeed! With the configuration, do you know if it be configured using spadnext?
I understand that you’re more into the miniFCU (as you had a promo code during its pre order) but I’ve got to be honest, I haven’t had any of the issues you have had with the WINWING. Tbh I prefer it. The size, the future addons etc and of course the price.

Luckily my son 500 miles away was able to tell me, Go to prog file ..right click, preferences, and allow this one off download of the program drivers or something along those lines... Great content ty, Just waiting for winwing to send out those pre order payment emails to UK customers, it seems were always last on the list here the other side of Europe. The delay in syncing FCU to on screen really wont be a deal breaker, maybe they will fix it maybe they wont as the values you set on the FCU are still correct values, so if your using a physical FCU like this that's surely what your focusing your sim experience on rather than very small amount of lag. The set-up process does look complex and this is one thing i hate about flight sim any complicated set-up process however with referring back to your content i should be able to manage it. I still love this unit over the smaller FCU this will make such a huge difference to me as what ive found frustrating in he past is trying to locate the turn or click point on screen with the mouse cursor normally end up zooming in by accident. Gav, do you use the winwing or minicockpit full-time in the streams. I already have the minicockpit, but thinking of purchasing the winwing as it is full size, big problem is WHO is going to come out with the EFIS first. Would love to have you input before I purchase the winwing. Thank you.
I use the MINIFCU. Better for myself up and the installation is faultless. The WinWing is clumsy to set up and the software is awful. The product is great, but the software is a pain.
@@Easyjetsimpilot How did you manage to make it work with DX12, MSFS crashes all the time and defaults to DX11 when reopen and simapppro is working. Also, does it work in any other plane than A320 for you? Thank you!
Yeah I'm having major issues where I get operation status errors. It doesn't work.. im half tempted to ask for a refund. it worked for a week but now it doesn't wanna owrk..
I´ve just found out, after fighting with the software, that it DOES NOT work with DX12. It crashes the Sim if you try to run it on DX12. Hope that someone finds a way to fix this issue. The other "problem" that I have is, it ONLY works with FENIX on MSFS2020, nothing else, and it DOES NOT work on X Plane 12. A bit sad for all of this, but hopping that things will get resolved. Thank you!
Hi ! good congratulations video Just one very important thing, if you already have software that uses mapping, for example (sound software, or others) it's not worth it, Windows will make an error
Got my FCU a week ago. Worked right out of the box no firmware update needed. Then it stopped working all together when the WWTStream operation status and SimLogic Operation status started randomly showing red when the sim was started. I wouldn't buy it
As I tested it , you don't need to do anything with the app (except updates). Just start the game and the fenix/neo should be working. MSFS recognizes the FCU. That Virtual Device Mapping is NOT ncessary, at least for me.
That indeed seems to be the case. The device for me however, on began working when I turned this on and vJoy downloaded. I think a lack of knowledge on my part of this app and instructions didn't help.
@@Easyjetsimpilot that's true...i haven't used this app before either. Maybe because WW just switch from military sim. It's intersting that this vjoy macro thing seems to be pretty wellknown in DCS hardware world. A quick starter paper in the box would be nice...but after that, so far it does its job and I managed to make the knob work with 737 by configuring in MSFS.
Its only frustrating because there was no instructions on how to set it up and you had to feel your way through it, but as most are saying, after firmware update its no dramas. As for price comparison to the mini...winwing is a no brainer.
Received mine today, it doesn’t even show up on the simapppro screen, I can see it power up with orange/yellow lights but all 8888’s, wondering on next steps as under devices I don’t see any thing on simapppro application devices screen
Are you using the second USB-C output on the back marked "Power Only", just got mine looks great feels great. IMO little trouble you encounter well worth $100 savings over MiniFCU I suppose they will update software with time and make it easier it is fresh out of the oven after all :)
@@Easyjetsimpilot ok thanks, I wasn't sure if it needs both or just the data one, some of my other devices of such type for my 737 cockpit require both data and power (older devices), anyways great to know, great video thanks !
For those who didn't receive it as an early unit but just pre-ordered, anyone has already received the unit? Or get the email to make the payment? I bought it like 2 minutes after it showed on the page and didn't get any feedback...
UPDATE: Received mine two days ago. I think it's necessary to say something in the scope of this video @Easyjetsimpilot. I don't use any drivers and the only issue I had was that, after the firmware update, I had to uninstall the SimApp and reinstall it. After that, everytying is indeed Plug&Play. There is no need for anything else. In terms of how it works, it surpassed my expectations. It's simply amazing, everything works flawless, the delay is non-existent, everything, including the lights are completely in sync. The touch is great and I can't fly anymore without this. I'm hopping they get the other parts as soon as posssible because this is a game changer. About the 1:1 size, it's also amazing and it's bigger than what you think, but it's just the first impression. Overall, 10 out of 10!

@@Easyjetsimpilot Thank you for the reply.. I am sure I will sort it but I just don't understand how mere mortals are supposed to know what to do with zero instruction on their product.. I can not be the only one who has this issue.. But thank you.
If this doesn't work with Spad-Next or Mobifight then the usefulness for me is extremely limited as I fly non-airbus planes most of the time. I'll keep my minifcu which I can use with all my planes.
spad recognizes it as a joystick so you'll be able to configure the buttons and axis but not the led's or display brightness.c0nnex said that there's currently no partnership between winwing ands him so it'll be as that for the time being
@mass23g22 how to make it work? Can't figure it out. All the buttons and dials work when I load MSFS and fenix a320 but the winwing FCU screen and values are blank and turn off.
MiniFCU must be paying you very well lol.... this not an official launch product, i can see why its not refine and fully streamed when it comes to setup. The minifcu while its a cool product and it does what it advertises, it's grossly overpriced. also, editing this comment. I saw reviews from other youtubers and everyone else is showing all the different features and how good the product is. Way better than the miniFCU.
Well, I find it generally easy to configure hardware - but I don’t have four kids…😅 (Bless you, kids are our future, hardware can only go retro - if even that…🍀)
A slightly less convenient initial set up is worth the near $200 in savings over the miniFCU. -Edit- I take it back. Just got my unit in and the WinWing software is such crap. You don't need vjoy, but WWT stream won't even properly initialize. It truly is a headache.

Thanks for the video! Are you running DX11? Because it is not working on mine with DX12.
No, DX11
@@Easyjetsimpilot Me too. Frame gen disabled and dx12 greyed out if simapp is installed. M using a 4090.
Confirmed. DX12 not supported as of the moment.
@@jangonzales7750 Yes, it crashes MSFS if DX12 is on when simapppro is running.
Very tempted to purchase it, but I may wait until it is a genuine 'plug and play'.
Will this work on flybywire planes? It’s seems to work but doesn’t display any of the info on the fcu
Yes it does
I´ve just found out, after fighting with the software, that it DOES NOT work with DX12. Thank you!
Hi ! good congratulations video
Just one very important thing, if you already have software that uses mapping, for example (sound software, or others) it's not worth it, Windows will make an error
Got my FCU a week ago. Worked right out of the box no firmware update needed. Then it stopped working all together when the WWTStream operation status and SimLogic Operation status started randomly showing red when the sim was started. I wouldn't buy it
I just set it up like you, but the display doesn’t show up anything, also the backlights don’t light up, input works … any idea what I’m doing wrong?
Hopefully there is a video setup for xplane 11 or 12
Are you using the second USB-C output on the back marked "Power Only", just got mine looks great feels great. IMO little trouble you encounter well worth $100 savings over MiniFCU I suppose they will update software with time and make it easier it is fresh out of the oven after all :)
No, the power only is exactly what it says. You'll need to use the data connection.
@@Easyjetsimpilot ok thanks, I wasn't sure if it needs both or just the data one, some of my other devices of such type for my 737 cockpit require both data and power (older devices), anyways great to know, great video thanks !
The miniFCU has lag too sometimes
Can this unit be attached directly to XBOX console?
Good morning
Can you give me the keys to configure in Flight Simulator 2020 for the Winwing FCU please?
For those who didn't receive it as an early unit but just pre-ordered, anyone has already received the unit? Or get the email to make the payment? I bought it like 2 minutes after it showed on the page and didn't get any feedback...
Preordered day 1 (Canada distribution). Received the payment ready email 3 days ago, was shipped yesterday and delivered this morning.
@@micheldaoust8830 Thanks for the feedback. I'm on EU zone. I just had confirmation that in my case is still in pre-order status, no email was sent.
@@micheldaoust8830 I'm on EU zone. I just confirmed that the email to process the payment was not yet sent.
@@micheldaoust8830 Same here in Thailand, got it today.
Thanks for the tutorial. With your setup instructions, it is now working on mine also. but there is a catch, my WINWING FCU doesn't display/show anything on its display. Can anyone help me? its been a frustrating 2 days of setting up already
Mine as well 😕
Mine arrived today. The only issue I am having is that my displays for alt, speed, vs is only showing up as the default display (8888) does anyone have or know a fix for this?
Who Made Your Livery? Or Did You Make It?
Haha. I'm not that clever. A guy on here called Darkfury. His details are in the video description.
@@Easyjetsimpilot haha ok , atleast one knows hows to fly a plane!
Interesting, mine was plug-and-play, just updated firmware 😮
does it work with LVFR a330 and Horrizon a321
Good morning
I can't get my FCU A320 Winwing to work.
In the “Environment Check” menu “Program initialization phase” remains red.
In addition the display of FCU unit 1 shows "88888"?
Can you tell me what's wrong?
Do you have a procedure to provide me with, preferably in French?
Thanks in advance
Philip
@@philippeatlan4648 I'm afraid you'll need to contact support as I'm unable to assist. I'm not a big fan of the WinWing software.
hello peoples quick question for those of you who own this FCU autopilot unit - how do you make this FCU work with the inibuild a300 ????? where do you download the profile for different airbus aircraft ?? so far I can only confirm that my unit is working only with the fenix a320 but no other aircraft !!!! of course you can try to bind the FCU with the msfs2020 but the display won't work and some of the buttons can't be programmed I would like to use this autopilot panel for all of my aircraft from cessna 172 to PMDG 737 anyone can help me with this please? I opened the ticket on winwing web but after 30h still no answer from them and support is not existing !! I hope somebody can help all of us who want to use this FCu for different airplane then only fenix a 320
Why is the wing wing web site so bloody crap a cant seem to get onto the site to order logged in fine but goto basket cant select uk
Good follow up, thx
Man you make this so complicated wow
Gav Sorry to bother you...Have you had a problem with the latest update of the winwing software? I can not seem to get it to talk to the pc plane FCU.. It worked perfectly for 4 weeks but the update seems to have killed it, lighting and talking to the planes FCU.......I think its a Beta update which I was not aware of as it just said update...I tried following your above video again, even doing the joy bit... Why on earth do they issue superb equipment with NO help in setting it up... I just do not get software engineers.. Anybody have a similar problem and how do I fix it? Thank you.
@@alwatt9367 afraid I've not used it for a whole. I never liked the software. Not intuitive.
@@Easyjetsimpilot Thank you for the reply.. I am sure I will sort it but I just don't understand how mere mortals are supposed to know what to do with zero instruction on their product.. I can not be the only one who has this issue.. But thank you.
Does this work with PMDG 737?
If this doesn't work with Spad-Next or Mobifight then the usefulness for me is extremely limited as I fly non-airbus planes most of the time. I'll keep my minifcu which I can use with all my planes.
spad recognizes it as a joystick so you'll be able to configure the buttons and axis but not the led's or display brightness.c0nnex said that there's currently no partnership between winwing ands him so it'll be as that for the time being
I have recieved my winwing FCU but when I try to download vjoy, it says install has failed. Got any idea how I can fix this?
you don't need the vjoy to make it work
@mass23g22 how to make it work? Can't figure it out. All the buttons and dials work when I load MSFS and fenix a320 but the winwing FCU screen and values are blank and turn off.
@@q_adxmrblx2998 just install&start the simapppro and lanunch the game it should work automatically.
I have the same issue. Updated the firmware and had the simapppro running but no letting happens in MSFS.
Well, I find it generally easy to configure hardware - but I don’t have four kids…😅
(Bless you, kids are our future, hardware can only go retro - if even that…🍀)
A slightly less convenient initial set up is worth the near $200 in savings over the miniFCU.
-Edit- I take it back. Just got my unit in and the WinWing software is such crap. You don't need vjoy, but WWT stream won't even properly initialize. It truly is a headache.
still cant connect it, getting on my nerves
W RUclipsr
Winwing app is awful and manuals are really bad, i just bought their rudders, took me at least an hour to assemble and install. At least it works fine :)
This still isn't the launch product. So you shouldn't mane recommendations already...
This is the same product that others have recieved when purchasing.
@@Easyjetsimpilot yeah well shipping hasn't started yet. And I am sure they will improve on the drivers and software for this product. If you have looked into any reviews of other winwing products you would know that most people don't experience much difficulty with installing drivers and getting them to work in the sim.
Happy to say shipping started a while ago and people have already received this unit (you'll see this if you read the comments). 👍
@@mellewisselo8025 sure it did... got a tracking number and will a receive the unit next friday fedex says
so either im retarded or something. just got mine today and i cant get it to work with msfs 2020. im not on xplane
Sucks that u have to run the fucking app every time and leave it running in the background
First! :)
I mean... Technically I was first 😁
