Tauren Druid - My first character in April 2005, happy 11th anniversary to me, yay me. The character is deleted and long gone due to bad talent decisions, meaning I had to pay more gold than I could ever grind at the time. This was before the gold cost would reduce itself again every month and before anyone was aware of how much the game would change. It was not common sense to people to think "ah well, maybe it'll change in the future to allow us to change talents" and there was no deleted character recovery option, soo.. Shamefully my first character ever is gone. However I did create a new tauren druid and levelled him up and he rocked the Alliance's asses in pvp for a while. Then later in his life he somehow evolved into a night elf via an ancient magic called 'faction change' and he still exists today as a level 90 night elf balance druid, ex feral/bear druid. I have another tauren druid at level 100 now who is geared all through mythic dungeons, I plan on having him be my main in Legion. Him or his night elf alter ego.. I'm a faction schizo, sorry.
Surprise they added a deleted character recovery option and I believe it applies to old characters as well as long as they are above level 10, not 100% sure though
As a Tauren Brewmaster, I am happy to hear that the Tauren were all once the Yaungol, making my character more fitting to the lore of the game then i once assumed. I watched both the "how to roleplay a Tauren" and "how to roleplay a monk" videos but i still find it a bit difficult to develop my character. It doesn't help that i have transmogged my helm to "Tsanga's Helm" and shoulders to "Hide of Chromaggus" because I really like the colors. Even though the azure feather are fitting for a Tauren, It makes me look a lot more like a shaman or a druid then a monk. It doesn't help that the weapon and off-hand i like visually really make me look like a WC3 "spirit walker". Which is a look i really enjoy, but again, isn't monk-like at all! Watching your lore videos made me play wow again, much more invested in the story this time, so thanks!
+Mickey the Maniac Glad it helps. Even though they yaungol as far as we know weren't monks until recently at least we know that they fought alongside monks more than 10k years ago.
+Erectile Reptile That's great to hear, glad it helps. The game in general can tell a great story but it takes a lot longer to finish various questlines.
Doronsmovies the way i have always played made it so i need to be getting as much exp as i can for minimal time i can never stop returning to my primal instincts to skip quest text lol
@@mrbling333 super late reply but to be honest I feel like so much quest text is filler that doesn’t really teach anything it’s easy to miss it when something useful shows up

We Tauren have always held a great respect for the works of the Earthmother 😢 Cairne Bloodhoof
Im surprised the Tauren didn't hold a massive grudge towards the orcs after they killed Cenarius...Bliz going back and retckoning without consulting Warcraft 3 again...
i believe they settled in a similar manner as the tauren, following under cenarius. Then Huln Highmountain recieved a blessing from an ancient beast while defending from the legion giving him the moose like antlers. When he returned home they named it after him and his people from then on our also had the antlers.
If this is what is said in the Chronicles, than there is a huge mistake in MOP, because Lorewalker Cho tells the story of where the Yaungol came from, and it was a group of Tauren that traveled to Pandaria and got trapped there when it was enveloped in mist.
+Josh Gamauf "Lorewalker Cho says: Long ago, a group of sturdy nomad hunters wandered the world. By a stroke of fate, they were here in Pandaria when the Sundering split apart the continents of Azeroth. The wanders found themselves trapped in the Townlong Steppes, a harsh and dangerous land." It' imprecise but not absolutely retconned. The Yaungol were indeed nomad hunters and they got trapped in Pandaria. It's understandable since that happened 10.000 freaking years in the past. Do you know exactly what was going on in your hometown during that time? No, nor I do, and since most of the pandaren knowledge it's transfered orally, it's logical to assume that some part of it may have been lost or altered.
... my only issue with this video is in the game you see from Lore Cho that Tauren come down to Pandaria and after the sundering turned onto yungols due to the harsh environment. And they didnt learn Druidism until the fight on mount Hyjal (the first legion invasion on azoroth) after Runetotem saw the Nightelves fight with such ferocity that he ask Cernarus to teach him the way of the druid. (he was a high shamman at the time). would love the source for this vid though.

Danto, you sound like a race supremacist who's trying to pose as a victim. Which seems like the favored cowardly liar strategy these days. Your statement is fucking ridiculous. If you have to lie to promote your ideology, your ideology ain't worth shit.
@@ninja180700 that's the whole point, there were always people with different traditions as there are races in WoW with different ones. Yet they manage to try to work together. If you think about it the most xenophobic races in Azeroth are Elves and Humans and that says much.
What about ordos? Hell, what about how they were the first druids before even the night elves? what about their weird history with the elven gods other than cenarius? Hunting cenarius father malorne, being hunted by goldrin. The reverence of Mu'sha and An'she. all sorts of stuff.
I feel like this was rushed. You havent talked about highmountain tauren at all or are you avoiding the spoilers? Dunno if you saw about that one hell of an epic tauren that marched alone in war of the ancients.
+IamSurfy It's not rushed, this is just the new lore from the Chronicle book. The highmountain tauren are just a tribe of tauren. My point of this video is to discuss the sub-races of the yaungol (yaungol, tauren, taunka).
+lotrbfme2rotwkrj The original race is called the yaungol. If you are referring to the Highmountain tribe, they are just a tribe of the tauren that settled around central Kalimdor. Keep in mind that when this split happened the world was still one and the entire united continent was called Kalimdor. 10-12k years after that especially with the sundering many other splits could have happened.

You skipped all the WarCraft 3 part of the Taurens, maybe because it was not important for the race itself, or maybe because this video was not about the political aspect of the race itself
+Zergskorpyon Brood Because the video is just about the Origin of the tauren, not their entire lore. I covered a big part of their lore in my how to roleplay a tauren.
