    I think one aspect that's often overlooked is just how strong team UAE is this year on top of Pogis already incredible form. Politt is a fucking locomotive, putting in monster pulls for miles day after day. Almeida, Yates, Soler, Simakov and Ayudo are all putting in massive work, even with some not having their best form. Team Visma on the other hand definitely doesn't have its best form aside from Jorgensen and Vinegaard, as good as he can be after his crash. Sepp Kuss is definitely missed, and van Aert seems to be far from his best form. Definitely a different story than when van Aert in green was pulling Vinegaard like crazy and UAE fucked up team tactics.

      @@MrBradfordchild After the injury he sustained, Vingegaard will never be 100% again. Have you ever broken your ribs? I have, twice. It's not like breaking an arm or a leg, both of which you can splint & cast to keep the bone line straight during the rehab process. With ribs, you're breathing all the time, and any movement during the rehab process can re-break areas that were mending. Any bone scar tissue that re-breaks then gets "plastered" over by the new bone tissue and you never breathe the same way you did before the breakage.

He's built different. Make it hot, put longer TT stages in, and limit the mountains, then maybe other riders have a chance. Last year Jonas won the time trial by riding it better - much more skillful and risky. Here we see Tadej absolutely dominating in both GC and stage wins, going the same speed pretty much every stage. Simply by having more power. At best it seems just a tiny bit odd.

    • @luckyspurs
      @luckyspurs 4 месяца назад +2

      Yes we did.
      Sorry, what Tadej and Jonas are doing is so much faster than anyone else in history and bar the occasional stage, neither of them ever look remotely tired at the end, even when they're taking 4 minutes out of all-time climb records, in heatwave conditions. It's stopped being fun.

    • @scninja07
      @scninja07 4 месяца назад

      @@setlhabanesquiremoseamo1719 Jonas dominated the same way last year though. Was he doping last year? The thing with Tadej this year is that he's dominating the Tour, he dominated the Giro, he's been attacking from long distances in one day races and winning. Either he's doping for every race, he has a motor in his bike, or something else nefarious is happening, if you don't think he's legit. Or else, the issue is that the other riders just aren't as good and cycling is a niche sport that doesn't have the top level athletes that you see in other sports. Remco was a top level soccer player but moved to cycling. Primoz was a world class ski jumper but moved to cycling.
      If cycling paid more and had an easier cost to enter, and be more popular worldwide, you'd probably see other good riders on par with Jonas and Tadej.
