This is a visual step by step removal and install for the Kia Stinger GT cat-back exhaust install. Parker picked this Borla exhaust up for $700 bucks!
We had to cut this video short after the install, so I called on the community to send me some Borla exhaust cold starts and revs. I had about 25 clips! The ones I used are both Borla only and Borla with downpipes.

Your timing is perfect! My Borla exhaust just came in, and I’m planning on installing it in a couple days.
I put the ark cat back on my stinger gt2 couple months back sounds amazing. Now i want down pipes.... I used a little heat on the down pipe nuts and a impact with a swivel zipped right off.
But the borla sounds 👌 🔥 your car is looking real good 👍 keep it up homie!
My Borla for my Stinger just shipped! Should installing it next week sometime. I had a Borla Exhaust on my RX8 a few years ago. Loved the sound.
I did mine on race ramps JunBL exhaust less than 2 hrs remove and install super easy and fit perfect
I have the borla paired with IMR secondaries it sounds so good. It was a pain to do with no lift and by yourself lol.

Awesome video. There's a huge Stinger following in SKorea right now. Even the older models sell for a lot of money these days. I think Stinger is gonna be the first Kia classic.

@@jimmypacheco6540 and next time do some research before commenting something so ignorant. In most states it’s perfectly legal to modify your exhaust as long as you still have mufflers like in my state of Tennessee. I’m going to assume live in the worst state of our country, communist California.

Get some catless secondary's as well. makes the car even better. I use the Jun BL secondary's and SS MBRP pipes, no muflers. Loud and good.

Still waiting on MBRP to drop the new version for 2022 GT2. They last told me June but nuthin...
@M3T29 The 2022 has butterfly valves in two of the four exhaust pipes. The 2022 version supposedly will have the same thing from MBRP.
Mbrp is amazing. I have there race catback paired with a Roush CAI on my 21 Mustang gt 6speed. When I get a GT2 I’m going with mbrp as well.

Sounds great. The only post I find like is the high pitched snap at high RPM's. Is there anything that can be done to prevent that?
Nope, that’s why I went with the MBRP, there is a tradeoff bc the Borla is louder and sounds better at lower RPMs, but the MBRP had no raspy notes, it’s not as loud though. But you can always add downpipes to the MBRP, but if you do that will introduce rasp..

Anyway, this is a little off topic but I don't have social media, so I'll ask here.
Any way you could compare the Lozic tune vs Lap 3? I know it might be hard to find someone with Lap 3 but please keep it in mind for a future video, perhaps.

Actually I did have a local person with a stinger who has a lap3 tune offer to make content. When it comes to flash tunes, they can be a little tricky. Not every one will be perfect as someone else who claims it to be. Personally, a dyno tune would be the absolute best option, or if the flash tuner is willing to send some revisions at no extra cost with logs from the user. That’s what I did with Lozic, 4th tune seems to be the best, he sent two at a time. However, I do have a RUclips channel. I know two others he did this for though. Lap3 wants $2,750 prior to tax and shipping for the same options I gave on the Lozic, so if money is no option, they seem to have some happy customers, i personally have no experience with them on my car with my mods, elevation etc.

BMW will tune it for me and still keep the warranty intact. For me, warranty is everything. Thanks again!
Just fyi, you're supposed to refit the cross brace between the clamps on the mufflers. This will help stop it rattling around.

I have a borla on my stinger GT, but I want it to be a little louder at the lower RPMs and when idle. Should I delete the resonator and/or muffler or do something else?
Did you ever find a way to get rid of the rasp with the borla’s? I want to throw an exhaust on my stinger but so many mixed emotions mainly because I want a nice throaty sound (as much as a v6 can be throaty of course) but I don’t want the tinny rasp that will give the impression of a clapped out civic 🥲

Sounds good. Just never liked the valance mounted "tips" mainly because if you had a cat-back system or custom exhaust you'd have to worry about inference or them not being centered if you did this all on the garage floor with jackstands.
Absolutely would normally agree with you. For this car, though. I make an exception.
Counting down the days til I get my stinger. Is this one of the first mods I should do or is there something else I should do first that you’d recommend?
I need to make an updated best mods list, but I did make one going over what I did first and built it up over time if you want to check it out.
The Stinger loves mods, but will need to be tuned bc the extra boost will send a threat to the ECU and you’ll go in limp mode kind of easy after you do intakes and exhaust, intakes nothing happens but worse MPG, but after I did exhaust it started doing it, since JB4 never an issue with over boost
There’s a crap ton of mods available for this platform
Swap the fake factory exhaust tips out for real bolt ons and it helps with the drone plus it just looks better. You can get them on eBay.
The blue Stinger has the carbon fiber ones, I showcased them in the video we all made a couple months ago. Does look clean with all his other carbon. I would like some gloss black ones

So you want the end of the lips to be centered on the decorative tips to prevent drone?
Yes, but you want the tips to be inside the OEM tips, not before . The sound pressure waves will bounce underneath the car and it will drone bad.

If you are tuned you will see a little gain but nothing you would feel in the seat. Being forced induction you will see a major benefit to freeing up the exhaust and allowing the turbos to spool faster. Now when you change out the primary cats that’s another story, that with a proper tune you would feel it a little I’m sure +50 hp. I remember when I wasn’t tuned I installed intakes and had no issue, but when I installed the catback exhaust, I was overboosting and going into limp mode often

Do you still have the ability to change the sound from different drive modes?
That option did not come on the 2018-2021 stingers, it’s a new option for the refresh models (variable valve exhaust)

Is this just naturally a raspy engine or is there an exhaust that gives it a deeper smoother tone? Not a fan of this sound
MBRP will give it a deeper tone with no rasp, but once you do secondary downs or the Borla, you will hear more rasp, most V6 engines will have it but it has enough power for it to be ok imo, it will grow on you. I have some vids coming with a GT2 who is buying my exhaust and I’m going to let him use the down pipes too
You guys really need a can of silicone spray lube makes those exhaust hangers no issue
He had some I think, he was spraying some sort of lube on them in the video but I didn’t ask what it was
Wow downpipe+borla catback completely solved the Kia Stinger sound problem. Car is a winner overall stock but sound has been a big flop

It can, if you watch my dealer vs modified stinger they refused to work on it until it was returned to stock, I showed up with only a carbon spolier and cat back on. In most cases, no they will not care until something expensive needs replaced like a turbo etc. it’s a risk and my situation was a worst case scenario. Most people say they have no issues pulling up with an exhaust and intakes, oil changes etc they will not care or look prob

The Borla is basically no mufflers and there is rasp, the MBRP sounds great with no rasp but also the iPhone microphone doesn’t do it much justice.
