Out of every car I’ve ever owned, I’ve got the most attention and conversations ever with the Stinger. It really is an amazing car. Kia has really put a lot of effort in reinventing theirselves too, they even redesigned their logo. I wish they didn’t kill the Stinger off. The G70 is nice too, same engine, 500 lbs lighter, and comes with LSD stock. I just like the functionality of the Stinger with the hatch and more room. The AWD system is fire. Def go test drive one if you can find one.
@@Woo.f32 for sure, yeah the ones I had on my channel lit up at night time. Velosatech is the company that makes them, the CEO Dank Becker is a good dude, I was just talking to him last night. I would prob just go with the ones like Tony has, less wires and stuff to worry about, it’s pure functionality.
So the JB4 will leave more of a trail with the ECU, if you get a flash tune only and don’t modify your car with the stock ECU, it would be way harder for them to find altered data because you would remove the stock ECU/TCU and put a whole new one in. At the end of the day I’m sure they could figure it out but they would need to prove it. Most people get caught by pulling up at the dealer with mods, they take photos and document that and send it off to Kia which screws them when something happens under warranty. But man it makes such a big difference it’s insane
The start stop is only annoying sometimes man. I rarely press the brakes hard enough to engage it. Unless it’s really cold in the cabin, then I just let it stop as much as possible.
Age old debate! Love it. If you want best dig performance/times and plan to DD I would go AWD, if you want to have a little more fun, RWD. That’s my 2 cents
From what I've read on various forums, if you are going to leave it stock, the RWD is slightly faster 0-60 and 1/4 mile due to having less drivetrain loss and weighing less than the AWD. If you plan to add the JB4 tuner though the AWD benefits far more from the additional power and is the easy winner.
All amazing cars, one time on my channel when I went to drop off for service and they screwed me on the warranty.. there was a GTS getting traded. It sold immediately so I couldn’t get it, I LOVE those, rare and the orange was done right with carbon fiber. IF I get another 3.3tt, it will be the G70. They are lighter weight, more luxurious, and come standard with a LSD in the rear end. Q60 is pretty cool, but def come with more maintenance costs. I will say, the 3.3tt is very reliable and takes mods great. It was designed my BMW’s Albert Bierman and designed by Peter S from Audi, it’s amazing for the money.
Any additional stress you place on the engine and its transmission comes with a trade-off. Just how much of the overall reliability you get, time will tell.
I have a 2016 Kia K5 with the 2.0 turbo do you know of any tunes that I can buy for it everywhere that I look are just cheap chips that don’t work can anybody help me out been looking to do work to it for a while now.
Try bit.ly/3OlKuMq they have a 2.0t tune, use my code TWN2RBO. It’s plug and play but you’ll want an intake / better flowing exhaust to get the full potential from it. It’s not a flash tune so the power is going to come on under full acceleration
I would check the firmware and make sure it’s updated, if that doesn’t work, make sure you check your Bluetooth adapter didn’t come loose or OBD port isn’t loose. If after all that, still issue, disconnect your negative battery terminal in the trunk for a few mins and then reconnect it. Wait a few more mins and try it again.
@@twn2rbo is there a big difference between shifting pressure 1 and 2? Especially for longevity. I’m gonna pick this up and mirror your settings. Your old tcu video though has pressure 1 so curious. Thanks man.
When we started making TCU in 2019, there was no concept of pressure. Because I always wanted something fast. The first one is Pressure 4. Even now, 99% of Korea is using pressure3. The problem has not occurred even in cars that have been using the current pressure3 for 4 years.
These cars tend to blow up under their own power though? Countless scenarios of them on simple bolt ons and jb4 just seizing the motor or blowing the trans
That has not been the case for me and many others, depends on many variables, but the problems I’ve seen come after 500 wheel, the trans would need to be built up, after 25 psi boost the head bolts are also a weak point, but if done right you can daily a tuned a stinger like I did on e30 for 2 years / 25k miles with no issues. I ran the crap out of mine too as you can see on the channel.

@twn2rbo awesome, appreciate it. Loved how your's sounded with the tune with pops when revving. Also, I happy to hear it has less raspiness at higher rpms.

It has it! You just have to follow the steps in order to do so. 1. Be in sport mode 2. Hold the traction button down for a few seconds until you hear it beep and it’s all turned off. Foot on brake and accelerator same time and it will beep again saying launch ready. Unfortunately the stock TCU will not allow boost to build so there will still be a slight delay off the line, but she will rip!
@@scothine9754 the only thing I can suggest it to RUclips the launch control feature, then replicate every step, if it proceeds to not work, take it to Kia and let them know. It should not be disabled for any reason unless something is faulty. It may need a live data scanner
The white chart shown indicates "NO" auto up shift. No auto upshift is difficult during intense cornering, under pressure involving crash avoidance breaking!
It’s all about your foot (throttle position) when it comes to that, and yes it can void your warranty if they want it to, just depends on lots of variables
I would email him to see what he did, I specifically asked for it be e30 in sport and that’s what i daily drove. Do you have the JB4 as well with EWG wires? If so you can make some adjustments and send some logs

Why did you even bother with a Kia when you really wanted a BMW, and all the status and problems that come with it? You would have saved a lot of money in the long run by getting the unaffordable mighty bmw first, but perhaps you could not afford the $120K bmw you wanted at the time, so you settled for a half priced, yet competitive Kia stinger. You also found out modifications would void warranty. What you SHOULD HAVE DONE, is get a few years older bmw that you liked, out of warranty, and put $15-$20k in mods to that car and be happy with your 0 to 60 in 3 seconds status symbol, rather than make the Kia Stinger look like a second string play thing for children, while working your way up to any mighty bmw, that you will add every conceivable modifications to, and eventually bankrupt you with maintenance costs and refusal to warranty after the three previous agreements to fix under warranty? Does your beloved bmw still run, or did you finally blow the engine, or some taillight circuit (for $1000) that then does not allow the car to run?

Exactly my thought. It's already pretty quick, is it worth financial exposure? 🤔
@@SirThomasHarberevery single penny! Just go with it!
@@SirThomasHarber I put the injen intakes and borla exhaust and that changed enough for me now. but I love watching other people tune like this.
@@steamyjungleman do you know if that affects your warranty?
With the tune and lozic for long term use will it be safe? For the engine and transmission?
What’s the quarter mile time with a the TCU and JB4?
The start stop is only annoying sometimes man. I rarely press the brakes hard enough to engage it. Unless it’s really cold in the cabin, then I just let it stop as much as possible.
Just a pro tip, if you save your settings after you turn on or off auto start/stop it will save the way you want it too
@@HumbleLoyaltysettings for what, JB4?
Is it worth getting a rwd or only get awd?
Age old debate! Love it. If you want best dig performance/times and plan to DD I would go AWD, if you want to have a little more fun, RWD. That’s my 2 cents
From what I've read on various forums, if you are going to leave it stock, the RWD is slightly faster 0-60 and 1/4 mile due to having less drivetrain loss and weighing less than the AWD. If you plan to add the JB4 tuner though the AWD benefits far more from the additional power and is the easy winner.
I’m debating between a stinger gts g70 or q60. All great cars just worried about reliability
@@twn2rbo I appreciate the insight brother
Any additional stress you place on the engine and its transmission comes with a trade-off. Just how much of the overall reliability you get, time will tell.
I’m assuming that the warranty is voided at this point, right ? I want to tune my BMW ,but I know it’s going to void my warranty.
What do you do if you want a Kia stinger so bad but want a Manuel and not an automatic 😭😭
I need help on my jb4 with new catless downpipes it keeps kicking out of maps any ideas how to correct
Does car still feel healthy with TCU tune ?
I have bolt ons and Jb4.
Thinking a TCU now after this.
I’m at 4.2 0-60
Yeah, comfort you can’t even tell, it’s smooth , sport the rpm’s def hang higher than normal but it’s overall better, esp when tuned.
@@twn2rbo is there a big difference between shifting pressure 1 and 2? Especially for longevity.
I’m gonna pick this up and mirror your settings. Your old tcu video though has pressure 1 so curious. Thanks man.
@@Robert-dm1sj when I drove it, it was a tad more noticeable but dude his car moves so fast, I’m about to upload a vid soon, almost done editing it 💨
@@twn2rbo nice!! Thanks for the content
3 second quarter mile is pretty good
Hahaha. No….
3 sec quarter mile? lol i dont think even koenigsegg can manage that

THE KIA DEALERSHIP DONE THE WORK BOTH TIME
Ford 9" solves all those problems.
does it effect the car at long time cause i know man did some changes and the car got destroyed after while
Of course it will, you’re re engineering the car and creating more heat and friction on moving parts, but the Stinger is pretty stout, I’m speaking from owning one with 4 miles on the dash and selling it at like 27k
Nick, what would you recommend for exhaust purely for sound between mbrp pro or borla? I do have the ARK downpipes installed.
Thanks
I would go MBRP if you have secondaries already, it has an amazing deep note, not as raspy. If you want loudest, go Borla
@twn2rbo awesome, appreciate it. Loved how your's sounded with the tune with pops when revving. Also, I happy to hear it has less raspiness at higher rpms.
@@joshgathings007for sure, I had a mild burble setting, nothing even close to the S4, which is wayyy to loud and crazy, but it’s not a daily, it was for making some content and just driving a cool supercharged car. Stinger is best daily for the money hands down

You mentioned launch control...I've seen vids on how to engage it on older models, but my '23 doesn't seem to have it?
@twn2rbo thank you, but I did that and it never showed launch control on the cluster...

Does Lozic Transmition Control Unit still enable "car auto shift up" to protect engine from driver who misses shift during manual padle shift Mode?
The engine is handled by the ECU.
The ECU provides primary protection and the TCU provides secondary protection to engine.

I’m not convinced that other one does much. I think it’s just a high flow filter. You get probably the same result.
Does the jb4 tune affect your warranty or gas mileage? Like what changes
It’s all about your foot (throttle position) when it comes to that, and yes it can void your warranty if they want it to, just depends on lots of variables
What they don't know doesn't hurt them.

Horsepower is a drug
The auto start/stop seems to me to be super dangerous when you stop and get ready to jump out into traffic....and sounds really damaging to the transmission.
The things they do for emissions.. I know they beef up the starters and battery to handle it and the engine stops at top dead center, my issue is when it turns off and it’s really hot that oil is just sitting on the turbos and seems like it would build up a little sludge over time. It feels hard on it, I don’t care what they say lol

Gotta have a reliable car when the other one always breaks or explodes lol
