That's an insane range of control inputs needed for the Caravan landing with a strong crosswind! Wow. Good job buddy
+FlightChops thanks Mr Chops! It's crazy how some airplanes handle the wind better than others. The TBM doesn't need half the amount of control input compared to the Caravan.
Nicely done !!! Is that wide range of control inputs required across the weight range or just when the Caravan is light?
@FlightChops -- @Steveo1kinevo makes it look easy but man nerve wracking for me to watch!
Insane landing! Great job on that approach!
I can't speak about the Scottish pilots but there's no question the winds get pretty hairy for us here on the Atlantic Coast of Ireland. We've one only one island operator that serves the 3 Aran Islands of County Galway. They operate twin piston Britten Norman Islanders. They don't fly night ops but their pilots, much like Steveo1kinevo here, definitely fly the elements!!! Us recreational pilots, tip our caps.
That landing was INSANE!!! And you were able to talk thru it giving a detailed explanation of what was happening. Crazy skill you have!!!
Steveo has fantastic, almost innate stick and rudder skill!
I like the way he talks with such a cheerful professional voice and all the while in complete control of his craft....cheers captain!!
@Mr Lion why do you have to behave like this? Any problems with you life?
Air traffic controller says, “Alright bruh”. I’m dead😵😂. 1:55
No atc that was the pilot of the other plane
There is no ATC there, he was talking to other pilot
dead xd ... thx for noticing it
Lol good old Bahamian pilots 🤣
That landing was a thing of beauty. That's what I love about your videos - they're fun to watch, beautifully done, but at the same time it's just really good flying, and you do things the right way. So many guys think a go-around is something to be ashamed of. As you say, if you aren't comfortable, just hit the power and go around.
Well done, Steve, and thanks again!
I also loved that statement that you can actually go around if the approach or the flare feels wrong.
On the other hand, "shame has little to do with in poor landings.
Most of the time the simple problem is that pilots try to save the landing attempt for too long, and decide about rejecting the landing and going around too late.
Said, "don't care about greasers".. still greases the landing...
hahah OATH!
Better to go-around than put it into the ground...
14:06 10 year old me in flight simulator x
I see them working the yoke on landings a lot. I would love to learn to fly but that stuff would make me dirty myself.
Hahahahahahahaha

Exactly ..so am i..
Never fly in a storm that has a name.
I have a huge fear of flying and watching videos like this help sooo much. To see you fly with such ease and handle everything perfect really is nice and helps to motivate me to travel and see beautiful places like this. You're amazing!
At least an *8.5* on the _Sphincter Scale_!
ROFL.. Made me actually LOL. Well done.
He had a turtle head pokin' out...
Beautiful work Capt. Steveo! Thanks for sharing and inspiring us all!
When you use a GoPro to film your flights with Propeller Plains, i recommend a ND8 filter Adapter. Than you see only a smooth cool Propeller and more of the nice View! I use them at the Redbull Airrace sometimes!
I love your step by step narrative that explains everything. Makes it super interesting!... thank you for taking the time !
NICE LANDING! It looked as if you were "TV Driving" with that wind.
Getting airborne is another one of our future goals in life so it's fun to follow along.
Sad we didn't get to connect, we're in Nassau now and heading to Andros, Bimini and eventually Florida when the weather cooperates. Hopefully we'll connect one day. Thanks for the shout-out...we were the white sailboat down there! haha :)
OH! -The- white sailboat! THAT one! ;)
I was watching when he mentioned it and the catamaran and thought, "Well, there's only one out there...wait, no...two..." Cool when RUclips channels overlap!
Ive been waiting for the day he would mention you
"TV Driving" lmao
Been following you for years Steveo and just had to go back and watch this incredible cross wind landing - gives me goosebumps every time.
Always enjoy clicking on this fellow's videos when they come pop up on the suggestion list, regardless of how old they are, because he's such a great pilot we can all aspire to emulate. I assume he's also a CFI in addition to other commercial ratings because he's an excellent teacher/explainer.
Nothing like experience and level-headedness to pull that off so smoothly. Bravo!
You and the Wynn's are very safety conscious & organized in your air, land and sea travels. Great role models all of you!
Thanks Don :)
Man... No stress at all ... You are very skilled, congrats
i am not a pilot, dont really have any desire to be, but Steveo's personality and skills are always a pleasure to watch.
I love to watch interesting people at the top of their game, true professional.
I would fly with this guy anytime, anywhere!!
I’ve never seen a yoke moving so fast! Awesome video!
Dang..what a job on that crosswind landing..nailed it !!!!
Steveo. That was a rush watching you work the yoke on short final. Nicely done.
Sweet landing steveo.
When Flying Wild Alaska was on TV I always was amazed at the control inputs required in the Caravans!
Nice X-wind landing. Those are the ones that make us feel proud of our ability.
Wow that cross wind is crazy there, and it's strange because my trips to there are always on a boat, usually under sail, I've never flown into there yet.
Great video from a great pilot. One suggestion to all from a 33,000 hour pilot retired. Practice crabbing into the wind to just about touchdown and push in downwind rudder just as you touch to straighten it out. This makes for a smooth final and also stop yourself from the tendency to PIO the controls just before touching down. So many pilots fly a good crosswind approach but in the flare start fighting the airplane. Just slow down and let the plane do the flying you just gently guide it.
Awesome comment and explanation.....thanks ❤
I've been out of flying for a few years. Seeing this video makes me feel a bit nostalgic. Crosswinds are such a fun challenge.
That landing was incredible and the way you kept 100% chill through the whole thing was awesome.
13:45. That turn to final made me laugh out loud. Crazy.
My wife and I were discussing flying and she said "..anyway it's all done by computers these days - I bet planes just land themselves". So I showed her this video.......
If you want to get into flying, that was certainly a big mistake then! :)
Only the major airlines are on autopilot 75% of the flight. Not kegs to let plane land itself in the US. A human must always take off and land. But planes carrying less than 50 passengers are often hand flown 65% of the time. Computers can't correct in a timely fashion to compensate for lots of wind. And it takes lots of skill to land in these conditions, good pilots never get over confident....
Sorry Mike but planes larger than 19 seats have autopilots and they get used most of the time (part 121). Only Cat 3 planes have autopilots that'll land totally hands off and I'm sure they have limitations that would prevent a near max crosswind landing.
MH motorVlogs wtf are you talking about? Do u even know anything about flying?
MH motorVlogs l
Watching you land with a cross-wind like that was awesome. I absolutely love cross-wind landings.
Wow! The propellers on that plane warp as they are spun! Cool!
Thats a hell of a landing sir!
Sweet jesus. That's terrifying. I've never seen yoke correction like that. And you made it look easy.
This was the most interesting and most pleasant aviation video I have seen in a very long time! Clear sound, excellent commentary and great cinematography!
Thank you very much for sharing this with us. Cheers from Australia, Rolf
Wow! That's a lot of control inputs (ailerons) that are needed on this aircraft, when landing!! When I used to do this on a C152, my CFI would scream at me that I'm "overcontrolling" the aircraft too much!! 😃
What a great video! Great job man and you got one more subscriber. Great personality, instruction, tidbits... all great.
Questions: Who in their right mind would give this video a thumbs down? What didn't you like about it? The yachts you can't own? The Bahamas flying you can't do? The landing you can't perform? The video quality you can't match? The great personality you can't munster?
Keep them coming Steve, we truly appreciate them.
Man...you make it look easy!
Oh man. You got me stessed seeing you moving that yoke so fast on short final. Really good job Steveo!
Amazing landing! My favorite aircraft. Love the C208. Crosswind landings are never anything to sneeze at, that being said, professional pilot all the way down. Looking forward to more vids.
"Staniel Cay Caravan requesting fresh pair of briefs on landing Staniel Cay"
Nice, this is one of those vids I would like to have seen the "rudder cam" in the bottom corner!
Wow!! Unreal ! Great job landing that puppy!
Super nice approach and touchdown given the strongest crosswind, man...I love watching your vlogs...the beautiful scenery, the play-by-play while flying, the great demeanor...keep it up!
I'm gonna be 17 minutes late today lol.
+Jon Netbotic hopefully you don't get in trouble! Just tell them your flight was delayed due to strong winds.
steveo1kinevo hi! Is that your aircraft or do you loan out the aircraft ?? And what is with the Cessna ? Best regards , Finn :))
He flies for a company Finn, nice try though. Also, hopefully, plenty of fuel, a good pilot, and lots of lift is with the Cessna. lol
When Finn said "loan" he meant rented.
Jon Netbotic asdfghjkl
Good job! Incredible landing!
That's everything I love about flying. Thanks for sharing!
I really like how in this video you showed everything that you were doing in the cockpit during the flight.
You propably have the best job on planet. Flying over bahamas. :) Nice vid. thx and good luck
...agreed, I am totally 'hating on him' for a life of seeing/living those gorgeous oceans, keys etc. every day. Not fair. _Not fair at all_ !!
But it's an amazing (and terrifically educational) video for sure.

Terrific, Makes one feel like they are in the plane and can feel everything that is happening. Enjoyed, and thanks. Safe flying.
Love the chatter around the sights and environment. well done handling a clearly tricky landing!
I love hearing turbine engines start up! That never gets old. Haha!
@Hellish Never heard of turboprops?
@Hellish The plane is this video is a jet engine with a prop. Not a piston.
Awesome job on that cross wind made it look like a breeze ! Great arm work out to I bet lol
Thanks for taking the time to post these videos. Always love to fly and it’s nice to see you do it, and explain what’s happening.
I had 35 years in FAA ATC, and I really enjoyed this little video!!! You do good work! Thanks
Not sure if ShakeWeight or yoke?? LOL
This made me literally bellow out a hearty laugh. Thanks for that!
Hi, Steveo I just wanted to tell you that you have been one of the most inspiring people in my life. you are driving me to get my pilots license so I just wanted to say thank you. 🛬✈🛫
That landing tho, it was great.Nice work man. [0_-]
+Bandgro Stark your comment just made my day! Have fun and enjoy every step of becoming a pilot. They will be memories that you will never forget.
steveo1kinevo same for me - I just started my PPL training and you were definitely one the driving factors that made me bite the bullet. Truly excellent work dude - always brings a smile to my face whenever I see a new video.
(^_^) GL bruh :)
Thank you!
Always love your videos, informative no stupid music, and it’s as if your flying the aircraft yourself, while be instructed to learn to fly, at the same time. All my years on RUclips, no flying video, even comes close to your awesome instructive videos.
Nice job !!...I always loved the challenge of high wind landings...I just act like I'm coming home to the carrier and have fun with it !!
Hey SteveO in one of your vids can you discuss cloud types and what they mean for pilots?
Nice job Steveo! It makes a good friday when there is a new video from you and FlightChops :)
What is the maximum demonstrated crosswind for the Caravan?
I like this guy. Lots of information. Easy going delivery. Interesting stuff.
WOW, that was a lot of work. Well done, Steve!
This was crazy!! Thanks for sharing that. I just got checked to fly the caravan at work. Looking forward to learning tons on this plane.
Windy, full aileron to keep it level was your hands sweating a little?
Awesome vid, as always! Been flying out this way in the sim recently, just need someone to do a Steveo scenery pack for the Bahamas! That would be perfect. With a Cessna caravan and a TBM 850 in it without G1000 avionics too ( steam gauges all the way, baby)
Thanks for showing the gauges too. This channel is great
Great commentary, haven’t flown a caravan in a while. Remember it being very sensitive to crosswinds from mountain flying at Catalina years ago. We were usually heavy so that helped a lot but it was always a workout and a bit stressful.
DANG ........ Earned your $$$ on that one !
hello capt... indonesia here...😀😀
I don't know anything about flying but that looked well in control... top job pal !
My daughter is off to Exuma in August so it was lovely to see your video, love the views and landing, thank you.
Your channel is the only channel I have turned notifications on for. You are the only one who has earned that click!
Dr. Topher Gaming if your serious I'd say turn flight chops on he's just as good
310 Pilot is also another very professional pilot to follow as well. He and his wife recently did a tour of the Bahamas. Great videos from him and very well done.
That's just awesome! That windsock :D
I think this is most fun I have had watching a RUclips video. Great job Steve, made me feel like I was sitting right there in the seat.
Great job with this video! Love the fact that you give the viewers knowledge about the area and your shots are awesome. Keep up the fantastic work! 👍
How do I give 2-thumbs up ?
14:30 "It was sketchy" LOL
yes, the greatest understatement... should have used "hairy" in lieu of "sketchy"
Amazing skills! I used to fly here in the uk, the speed of your control input and you made it look easy! Keep up the good work 👍🏻
Thanks for the video brother. It got me super stoked. Having not flown commercially for 15 years, I'm in the midst of trying to get back into the industry. Unbelievably beautiful view from your office!
Am I the only one that thinks if you excelled at N64's pilot wings, you would be good at this?
Michael Feierstein didnt know they had it for n64. Played it on snes. One of my favorites
You need land a jet with just keyboard on the flight sim. be real pilot 😂
I've never seen anyone jerk the yoke back and forth so rapidly like he does at 14:10, or did you speed up the film? I have to fly pretty good crosswinds every day at my home airport due to mountains then flat then ocean then flat again and a hill across from the runway about 2-300' in. Pilots come in there from all over to practice crosswind landings. (Islands, it seems, are always prone to air current swirls or crosswinds -- that's why I'd rather land at them in early mornings.)
That was brilliant, thank you, them 208s are big in the wind kick the tires,, light the fires and off you go again.
That wonderful start up sound.
Hi, Stevo! Is there any chance you might have time to number your videos? I have watched several of them, but I would love to watch them in sequence. If not, no problem. Really enjoy your videos! Best regards...Dan
Sorry, I meant Steveo. Lol!
I'm a Bahamian pilot and we do this everyday all day.
I cracked my screen smashing the like button... You have an amazing job! Not just flying, but the places you fly to and from. Thanks for the videos
What an amazing landing! I had to watch that for a second time, because it was that good.
the pilot's voice sounds like Capt. Glenn Quagmire
Hahahahahahh what a shout!!
Giggity Giggity Goo!
😂😂😂
Hahaha he should say some kind of innuendo followed by giggity in his next vid lol
Giggity !
14:26 looks like the steering wheel in my car
great landing. I'm a flight sim enthusiast and it's heart pumping to do those kind of "landings" in the sim I can't imagine what a pant wetting experience it would be in real life!
Great video Steveo thanks for bringing us along.
About that Birds on start: What do you do on a Caravan, if you see a Bird in your path? Can you swerve or evade those? Or do you just have to let it happen?
"Watch for birds..." But, what do you do if you see a bird?
I guess you avoid it (if you see it soon enough...)
John Pretto pitch up , most of the birds have tendencies to dive down when feel danger approaching
Great work SteveO! I haven’t been PIC since 2006...your videos keep me inspired to continue flying someday...I also work for FedEx and are around Caravans a few times a week.
Plenty of inspiration!
Thanks, and keep up the great work!
I smile when I see the stress of most pilots in x-wind landing. When I used to fly a Cessna 185 floatplane in Louisiana swamps it was "normal" to land in 25kts to 35kts x-winds in canals and bayou's no more than 50' to 60' wide. You get really proficient after the first 500 hours or so. I always used the slip method regardless of passengers or not, much more control on the water touch down. Nice video steveo1kinevo :)
Do you, or any other pilots here, get nervous in these sort of things? Sincerely, someone afraid of flying
That’s were experience kicks in buddy
Everyone is human though.
That wide range of control inputs is, in my oppinion (1000+ hours in the Van), a bit too much. Not intirerly needed.
But you get the job done everyday so nicely done! And keep them videos coming! ;-)
I've never flown the van, so can't comment but going back to basics, "any landing you walk away from is a good one"
Awesome landing! I had a strong crosswind ounce coming into Melbourne Moorabbin Airport in Australia. It was a C210. Initiated a go around.. but it was a bit late... We got away but climbed ever so slowly. My tourists had some rocks in the back that they collected, we had 6 onboard and we were right on the envelope of weight and balance. I learnt from that experience.
excellent job, very interesting to see all involved in the whole process....love it
