This was such a great video, I felt like I was watching a movie and couldn’t look away for a second. I really liked the editing. It’s fun seeing you fly the caravan from time to time, it’s a little more relaxed.
Great cameras and editing. I think this is your best, Cap. Threading the needle through those clouds and the two storms on the horizon on the landing were so pretty. And, there are Caravans, and then there are Caravans. That is a beautiful one. I see why you like to fly it. Thanks for taking us along with you. More, please.
I find myself binge watching all your videos almost everyday... I've been a subscriber for years and love sitting right seat with you on every video! Love the videos and keep them coming!

Surprised I never saw this video until now. See what lockdown does to you. Went back and forth with the first couple of minutes as I reminisced. Love Bahamas flying. Done the Ft. Pierce customs far too many times back in the day. Nice video.
Maybe this has been said but I really appreciated hearing your go, no-go decision making process. The points you made shouldn't be missed by any of us pilots.
Good view of the leading edge slats on your outbound commercial flight. Altogether, a huge chunk of time in the air! Caravan seems sort of slow and steady compared with the Citation! Impressive storm clouds - huge rain shafts. Wise to stop over - not surprised you were tired! Glad you made it back OK Jim and beat the storms. Another great video - take care.
This video brought back some good old flights I took in a 172 cross country, not quite the same avionic package but fun nevertheless. Again, If you hit Charleston SC, coffee and lunch are on me. Thanks Captain Moonbeam
Great video!! I fly out of Fort Pierce (KFPR) for flight training. Just passed my checkride yesterday and passed for a PPL. I remember seeing your Caravan and thinking it looked sweet.
Love your video and that beautiful Oasis interior. Where do your passengers stow bags? What kind of mounts do you use for your two cameras? Thanks for putting in all the work it takes to produce such a watchable video.
Thanks. The passengers I usually carry seldom have more than a couple of gym bag at the most. The two aft seats in back have a net that locks in place so that we can use that area if needed for bags,
Love all of your videos. would you mind to make a video how you came in to aviation and if you have some tips for new pilots? tks and greetings from EDRY.
Hey Captain, We have a full motion Caravan sim and I enjoy your cockpit video. Our sim is a RedBird with the G-1000. It will not slow down on an approach. I notice your prop and fuel levers are both forward and you carry some power into the flare. We can't do that. It's idle power with full flaps at 3 NM and still a job to get down to landing speed without floating 2,000 feet. What do you use as a checklist. We have none. What we have came off the internet. Have you heard of a checklist company called qREF.com? They have a Caravan checklist that I would like to buy. Keep up your great videos.
Excellent Video! Every time I see a "V" Tail Bonanza I always think of the crash in Clear Lake Iowa: Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J.P. "The Big Bopper". It was at 16:14. Without seeing the registration # I'd say that the Bonanza was definitely from that time period, maybe a little more recent. The song Good Morning Star Shine was a number 3 hit in the USA in July of 1969. ☀️ (=
When I first saw a Caravan in a video, I thought it was ugly. But since then, I have fell in love with the awkward looks of this machine. Kinda like Uma Thurman. Beautiful. But damned if you know why.
20:30 I've recently started using the Bose A20 with the G1000 in the Phenom and I have to use manual squelch with it. I had the same issues you're having!
I have the same 2016 Caravan, N627EM, similarly equipped. The automatic squelch is horrible. Thankfully, the manual squelch adjustment is easy and works beautifully. I hd totally forgotten about that problem until I saw your video!
Love watching your videos. You're the man Capt. 800+ hours myself looking to fly 135 in the vans after college. Junior now. INSTA, COMM ASEL. Keep it up! This one was especially fun for me.
Didn’t know the Cessna Caravan has glass cockpit, last time I was flying over the Grand Canyon, the Cessna Caravan I was in was pretty old and has only analog gauges.
John, I am thinking about getting in to a flight school. Use to be an A&P in the military. Done with that own my own Trucking company. Now want to get to what I love the most and that is airplane. Any tips
I love you videos cap! I myself am getting close to my multi engine and single commercial ride. Im hoping to get a low time 135 gig after that. Happy flying!
The wife and I got a chuckle at your comments while filming that thermostat. 64° is pretty chilly! This nearly 200 year old house gets that way when the temp outside goes below 50°. 64° wouldn't work for my wife, either - she uses a heavy down blanket all summer long! She's shivering at 73°, hahaha! I'm the opposite - I'll sweat buckets. 😂 That was a bad place to build a sewage treatment plant! I guess that's an incentive to do everything RIGHT at that airport! 😁 Love the video, Captain! You come across as calm and relaxed - all perfect pilot qualities. 👍
Don't wanna land short there in Tallahassee...looks like their sewage treatment facility on the approach end.!lol! I had a friend who's a commercial pilot and back around 95 he was furloughed. He took a job at a trucking facility loading trailers. Wasn't glamorous but paid most of his bills.
sorry captain, you and steveo need to come and visit my world as a fedex caravan pilot. what you showed me in this video, i pray for on my departure from CDC to LAS during the monsoon season. Typically i have six to eight T'storm's going up to 50,000' plus on my departure. I've seen on my route , over the last 20 years some of the most widest weather ever. How about a microburst, hitting the ground at 2,000' and curling around to 14,000'. I have been inspired by the both of you, to video some of my cool weather encounters. Kept up the good work. Hope to post some cool videos this summer, nothing like some lightning going down the side of airplane and along the top!!
Vance, Steveo had problems with the FAA flying for Watermaker and they made him take all his videos of those flights down. I wouldn't want to run afoul of the FAA, or FedEx for that matter.
Captain you have motivation me and you are excellent from the first time you were flying the Caravan and I will continue to stay ready for that phone calll say Bernard its Captain moon

I love it also.
I might take it over just about anything...love big pickup trucks.
I love that Caravan. Flew it in the Alaskan bush for years,
I love cessna 208. The best thing that you can set the stabillity trim to T.O. and the plane will take off for his self.
Amazing aircraft, such a clean. First time i see cessna caravan equipped with abundant avionic.
It's a very nice airplane to fly.
Great example of knowing your limits and respecting the weather. Awesome job as always. Best regards, John
Thanks John.
Old video I know. But I love the 208! I also learned to fly out of Fort Pierce.
The big windows of the 208 give a great view in your videos. Great camera placement too.
Thanks.
Nice cloud flying and good airmanship decisions around adverse weather.

At this point unless I'm in a window seat I tend to ignore what's going on. Yes, I think I could.
A lot nicer than the 1998 Caravan I'm flying jumpers in. And it has an autopilot!
this is the only one I've flown. I thought they all had autopilots.
It did at one time. Stopped working, got snagged so the owner pulled it out. We use the machine for flying skydivers.

Only 36! Well, you've got 40 more years to go young man, ;-)
Awesome footage of some awesome weather Jim! Was that a lightning strike while approaching Tallahassee? 10:46 mark.
Yes and it was much more dramatic in real life. Hard to get a good lightning strike on video
GREAT video! Have you been demoted from the Citation to the Caravan?
No. I'm still flying the others also.
Jim, is it easier to communicate these delays to the owner since he's also a pilot? I imagine so but wanted your take.
The advantage is that he understands what you're talking about. The disadvantage is that he understands what you're talking about.
When flying alone..... have you ever put it in auto......and used the John.....curious...
I had that exact same thought. I'm not even sure if the caravan has a lavatory or not.
That's what the 'Pilot's Relief Tube' is for. People who fly single pilot learn early that you don't eat food that goes right through you, and you don't drink lots of fluid. There are devices for urine capture, but unless you're all alone in the airplane, most pilots prefer not to use them.
Gary C Devices for urine capture....Aka an empty Gatorade bottle. Haha.

H Gary. Unfortunately this aircraft doesn't have the relief tube, which surprised me.
