Thanks Guido - another interesting and detailed approach. Always good to see your religious application of check lists... even more important when you fly so many platforms.
I was stationed at Keflavik in the early 70's while the US military still controlled the base there. That's where I got my private license in the Navy aero club's Cherokee 140. We would do cross country flights to the damndest places. Grass fields where we would have to make a low pass to make sure all the sheep had cleared the runway. Flew to Vestmannaeyjar several times prior to the volcano erupting there. Fun times.
@@GuidoWarnecke You are right about rough weather. At times the Navy invoked the "Two-man rule". No one was allowed outside by themselves because the wind and cold was so bad. I really liked flying best during the summer when daylight was almost 24 hours a day. I could take the aero club's Cherokk out at 0300 and get a few solo hours in before work.
Thank you for inspiring me to pursure even more ambitious aviation dreams after getting my PPL-A recently. Picture quality is perfect! When watching on a big TV one can read every little text on the G1000 screens. If you want to further improve maybe tend to audio which is suffering a bit from clipping on radio. Great video. Always clear and concise. I love the editing touches too, E.G adding in pictures of the controls/buttons etc that you are adjusting. One small thing. Should the standby altimeter be adjusted too, when given a new baro?

@@GuidoWarnecke Thanks a lot for this explanation, it makes sense indeed. The only thing I'd still like to know is why it is switched off on the approach. Just a safety precaution to make sure compressor and thus the engine keep running well, I assume?
To my knowledge there is no limitation on using the bleed air heat during take off. There is a limitation int he use of air condition though on hot days during take off. I switched off the heater because it got very war. I was up at altitude before at -30C Happy Landings, Capt, Guido

I love this channel! 🙂❤️
Thank you very much!
Happy Landings,

I was stationed at Keflavik in the early 70's while the US military still controlled the base there. That's where I got my private license in the Navy aero club's Cherokee 140. We would do cross country flights to the damndest places. Grass fields where we would have to make a low pass to make sure all the sheep had cleared the runway. Flew to Vestmannaeyjar several times prior to the volcano erupting there. Fun times.
Interesting story!
Iceland is a fascinating place.
Rough weather at times.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
@@GuidoWarnecke You are right about rough weather. At times the Navy invoked the "Two-man rule". No one was allowed outside by themselves because the wind and cold was so bad. I really liked flying best during the summer when daylight was almost 24 hours a day. I could take the aero club's Cherokk out at 0300 and get a few solo hours in before work.
awesome once again
Thank you v very much Abdulla!

I just wanted to say I love watching your videos, and 2 days ago I got my PPL license in Canada at 17 years old 👍👍safe flying
Be safe and I am looking forward to you next Video
Thank you!
Also thanks for the advise re audio. Not easy to get this clearly records.
All the best for your flying career, wherever this will lead you.

Capt. Guido
Another enjoyable video! Great flying and landing. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
Great VID !!
Thank you!
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
You make one wants to fly with these videos. Very smooth.
Thank you Isam.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
Very informative. And thank you for not putting music or some other annoying sound track over the top of the video. Too many other aviation channels try to make it a discotech video. lol
Thank you!
I keep it focused on the "flying part".
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
Always a learning experience.
Thank you Rob.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
Great video. Always clear and concise. I love the editing touches too, E.G adding in pictures of the controls/buttons etc that you are adjusting. One small thing. Should the standby altimeter be adjusted too, when given a new baro?
Thank you!
Stand by altimeter: Good question. Sometimes in single pilot operation I just leave it at the standard setting 29.92 during the flight.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
I’ve been watching your videos for years, and have been flying for two now. I’m coming up on 700 TT and might be getting my first jet job soon in 365EA, you’re quite familiar with that one!
Another example how small the aviation wold is...
So you work for Contour?
Please send me an email.

@@GuidoWarnecke Not yet, but I’m in consideration for the job pending my CMEL checkride in a few weeks. I’m currently a CFI next door at Wings of Eagles. I’ll definitely shoot you an email 👍
on your next caravan landing video, can you add a little explanation as to why the cabin heat is eventually switched off and what the term bleed air actually means? thanks!
@@GuidoWarnecke Thanks a lot for this explanation, it makes sense indeed. The only thing I'd still like to know is why it is switched off on the approach. Just a safety precaution to make sure compressor and thus the engine keep running well, I assume?
@@AxCYeR I think in the event of a Go Around he needs all the power he can get. Bleed Air usage for air conditioning / heat reduces engine power.
To my knowledge there is no limitation on using the bleed air heat during take off.
There is a limitation int he use of air condition though on hot days during take off.
I switched off the heater because it got very war. I was up at altitude before at -30C
Happy Landings,
Capt, Guido
Grande maestro, thank you !!
You are very welcome!
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
Thank you again for another great video. A question if I may: you seem to fly many different aircraft. Is that part of your role, like a repositioning pilot or some of specialist and how do you maintain currency on so many different types of aircraft? Again thanks; love your videos, especially attention to following processes relating to flying safely. regards.
Hi Setephan,
it is indeed a challenge to change aircraft.
Not so much for the flying part but for the avionics and other set ups in the cockpit.
I take my time to familiarize and I use - very important - Checklists!
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
7 minutes VERY well spent.
Thank you.
Hope you did not watch the video in the office during work hours...
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
That's a professional.
Thank you!
Happy landings,

Einfach tolle Videos :)
Solche Flüge würde ich gerne mal mit meinen 9 Kameras begleiten, wäre sicherlich ein Leckerbissen :) lg
Vielen Dank!

very nice
Thank you Ralph.

Thanks 😍
You are very welcome!

Hello Guido,
I'm currently working on my private pilot license and I have never seen the thing at 0:36
What is it, and how do you read it?
Thank you,
Rishon
Hi Rishon,
this is an approach plate.
Like a road map it describes you in a standardized way, what do.
Directions and altitudes.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
pure joy, like all of your videos, which are the best tutorials i have seen so far (you are the perfect flight instructor, i think you know that..), and for me personally memories, as a young man i did a south atlantic ferry, just me and a pa28 turbo arrow, from sal to recife, wild times..
may i ask you if you stand up and walk a bit on a long ferry flight, single pilot in a caravan, or a single hand flown jet...or use the bathroom if there is any ? i`m curious how far you trust your avionics....
btw, i am not informed if you are allowed to leave your seat in a single pilot operation, by lba or faa...
Interesting story!
No stand up during these flights...
Long hours.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
Nice video, still on the way up there, I thought that you are already at your destination. Were the weather conditions so bad? In any case, I wish you all the best for the long way from you, and always happy landings
Weather was ok.
Aircraft was safely delivered to West Africa.
Happy Landings,

good job
Thank you Maher.
