I've been asking Cargospotter to make a Cessna 208 video for months, and here you are with an entire *compilation*! Excellent footage of all these Caravans...I'm a big fan of these dependable props :)
At first I thought they were ugly but when I found out they operated commerical in New Zealand i just had to see it. Now they're one of my all time favourite aircraft
Thanks for all the Caravans. I watched an awful lot of these and that runway at CZNL always makes me wince. It could definitely stand to be redone. It’s nothing but a sea of bumps and dips and swales and humps and valleys. With big puddles after every rain.
We used to live near the approach to Las Vegas, International. We could hear the FedEx Caravan coming in most afternoons. We imagined that it was a tiny aircraft among all the gigantic commercial carriers. I know the Caravan is Large, in its own class.
Very nice, I bet you got to see a lot of interesting movements around Las Vegas International! It's always fun to see and hear the Caravan's, one impressive turboprop.
The Caravan is a pretty good machine. its probably the ultimate personal use utility aircraft. I hate to be a kill joy, but read thru the 341 accidents involving the Caravan since 1985, and you'll find 61 confirmed accidents directly related to power loss or engine failure. I was working on aircraft in Alaska when the first Caravan's went into commercial service there, and according to what Id seen to that point, I knew it wasn't a good thing. Im not breaking bad on the Caravan per se, Im breaking bad on an aircraft that by it's design, has had a major decrease in it's overall redundancy, and now relies on newer technology for reliability and safety, despite the fact that the human part of the whole equation has never really changed. You will never increase safety by using any single engine aircraft in high density commercial applications. On a lighter note, HDAviation always has good airplane videos.
208B Grand Caravan is also in service with the air forces, such as Afghan, Iraqi, and the Philippine. maybe next time military version of the caravan can also be compiled in one video
Why do so many high wing designs need wing struts? Low wing designs are virtually never done with them? That baggage pod underneath is so ugly. If it is needed why not build a more streamlined accomodation for that purpose?

Unfortunately I never get to see any military 208's around CZNL, otherwise I would try to incorporate some into the video.
Parachutists love this plane :)
I believe it, seems like it would be the perfect platform to jump from.

Where is this airport?
Most of the clips are at CZNL in Nelson, British Columbia, Canada.
