When I was younger, I always said of all the villain teams in the Mighty Ducks series, The Iceland team was by far the most intimidating and evil. Made the Hawks look like little preschoolers and the Varsity team from the third look like nothing more than just over-privileged white kids.
My childhood holy shit these movies are a classic I don't care how "corny" they are. You have to appreciate these films. No one makes movies like this anymore. It's a shame
"Confidence. Listen, if you learn nothin' else when you're here, you learn this, all right? This is not just about hockey. It's easy to be confident when you have control of the puck. It's very, very difficult to keep that confidence when you gotta take whatever strange bounces life throws your way. Don't be careless, but don't be too careful either. You cannot be afraid to lose! That's how you gain the confidence to attack the game when the puck isn't yours. That's how you attack life... even when you think you don't have any control. And that's how you play real defense." Still my most favorite quote of all time.
I play defense myself. This my favorite quote too. I keep listen to this clip when I need to gain confidence. I like the part when they learn to “clear the trash”. This how I play defense. Block shots and take the puck off the crease
War Canoe Race Champions... Scout Camp... 2003... the whole world knew our victory hahaha.. but you're right, enjoying all the excitement and camaraderie is something that everyone should get a chance to feel.
Love the way this theme blends a sense of speed, power, emotion (trepidation, hope, love, concern, commardirie) and even a touch of bombastic brass together into something that never loses its place in your heart
its got some great ties in its composition back to "Fanfare for the Common Man" written in 1942, which is ALSO a major inspiration for both the original Superman theme and Captain America's MCU theme
Pretty much all sports movies are clichéd - that's not a bug, that's a feature. In a thousand years, they are going to study sports movies the way we study greek theatre and shakespeare - the plucky underdog or the wisecracking street smart kid who has a rivalry with the rich suburbanite will be an archetrpe like the greek chorus or the gravedigger in hamlet.
Whether you saw this movie in the 90’s or liked the movie recently, you all are the people I want on my life team! “Come on Ducks, WE’RE GOING HOME 🏆!”
Love the part at 3:59 when Banks turns over the flag to Charlie knowing his leadership and sacrifice is what really sealed their victory such great comradery
3:01 is probably my favorite part. The Mighty Ducks were my childhood. I've always kind of wished they'd make another one, and have Charlie be the coach. He did say in D2 how he thought he was a better coach than player, so it would make sense. They could also have Bombay in sort of a Hans like role. It'll probably never happen, but it would be cool if it did. I know I'd go see it.
here we are, just watched ep1 of the series. nice to see bombay. but we have to wait whats coming next. they teasered a picture with some former ducks players (no goldberg or connway :/)
the fact there was a time before the mighty ducks and jurassic park themes existed blows my mind..those themes are like iconic to me ....so much early 90's vibe
I always loved that part at 1:43 when it's Adam's turn. Dude has all that pressure on him esp. after Charlie gave up his spot (I know it's just a movie, but thought it was a good moment of the film xD)
I like all 3 movies but the first one literally gives me chills when I see it, it's not just a magical movie but it brings me back to the 90's too. the whole vibe is just something you can't understand unless you were there.
Not me welling up with tears because of this awesome piece of music. Who am I kidding, that's me all over. The 90s were an AMAZING time! You don't see movies like this anymore.
Fact - The Varsity team in D3 has the same actors that played the rival team The Hawks in the first movie. That's ironic given that Banks joins them in D3 where as he was taken from the Hawks in the first one Also note the Varsity team's goalie Scooter is played by the same actor who portrays Gunner Stahl in D2 so you might say the interactions between him a Julie the cat are also ironic
"Lets go shake their hands!" This theme might be my childhood but its also so inspiring and so much more than just nastalgia. Movies like this taught me how to be a real human being and i cant wait to show my son.
I love 2.35 that part gives the CHILLES till this day. Growing up watching the mighty ducks when I was a kid was the best. I'm 29 now and still feel like a kid when I hear it.

Love the Mighty Ducks! Glad I was a 90's kid. Gotta respect the fact that their real counterparts, the Anaheim Ducks, are a tough team that fights hard each and every game.
I may be a Sharks fan, but I still respect the Ducks as a very respectable adversary/rival, simply because these movies got me into ice hockey. The Ducks have a very underrated history in terms of how they were formed, and I will always support them as a childhood favorite.
Cinemaker This is a nice time capsule for a shitposter such as myself. Now that you've got Karlsson and Burns as your 1st defensive pair, go out and win that Stanley Cup, for Jumbo Joe's sake!
athleticfan33 yup. The Ducks are no longer the joke team they were when they were first introduced. They are constant contenders for the Cup, they win their division most of the time and go to the playoffs, and they put up very respectable season numbers. Ducks are a great team all around
Listening to this wonderful theme on the 30th anniversary of D2, 3/25/1994. I saw it in theaters on that day when I was 9 and a half years old. Good memories.

Eric Yi When Wolf said that I was like “damn, kick him while he’s down why don’t chya.” But his response was perfect. Nice to see sportsmanship from the Vikings, and from some of the Warriors. something we unfortunately didn’t see from the Hawks though.

They didn’t have to go this hard on the soundtrack for this movie, but they did and we the children of the 90s are eternally grateful.
When people say The Joker is their favorite villain, I like to tell them the Iceland Hockey team from D2 is mine.
I know, right?
When I was younger, I always said of all the villain teams in the Mighty Ducks series, The Iceland team was by far the most intimidating and evil. Made the Hawks look like little preschoolers and the Varsity team from the third look like nothing more than just over-privileged white kids.
This movie is the reason I will never visit Iceland
The Iceland hockey team was a formidable opponent. No doubt about it. Lol
