I used this produce about 6 years ago on a natural stone shower. I applied 3 coats and it is holding very well. Just used it this past week for a ceramic tile shower - single coat since it is ceramic.
Awesome feedback thanks for sharing your experience.
How much time do you have to wait between coats? Do you to wait until it’s fully cured?
Can you also use product on subway tile
We just did our floor and I had NO idea how to apply this to a large area, this video has save me from so much frustration and money, dollar store here I come 😅
Thank you ❤
Thank for sharing the video, I just use the same 511 sealer on my newly renovated bathroom porcelain tiles and the water beats on the tiles like the tiles had been waxed. I do wanted to mentioned two things...1) This 511 Impregnator Sealer smells like gasoline so if peoples are sensitive to that type of odor they should be aware of that. 2) Avoid applying this 511 Impregnator Sealer onto the caulking around the shower tub and shower fixtures, it will dissolved the caulk it (it lifted the edges of my culks).
Awesome tips! Absolutely right!
@@VibrantDeals Thanks... actually, I bought that sealer after I saw your video :).
To avoid change in color of grout, they make the 511 enhanced. This will bring out the natural color of grout.
Glad I saw your comment.
They do highly suggest sealing first before grouting. It keeps the grout from staining the tile, and also keep the tile from drying out the grout. You can seal the grout too if it need to, but there are grouts that have stain defense in them.
I only knew to apply a single time to my river tile….grout haze an issue. Am using 511 to seal stone and grout, but will be using 2 applications.
Nice and easy to do. Short and sweet video.
Thanks! This product is great because a little goes a long way. I've had a few spills since I made this video and clean up is easy!
Did you let your grout cure before you put the sealer on there just wondering if that might have affected the color of your grout 25 years in the business
My thoughts exactly and I'm a DIY guy. I let my grout cure for 2 weeks. Just sealed the tile job and the grout color stayed true.
Wow it REALLY lightened ur grout.
Thanks, I regrouted my bathroom tiles, and when I seal I will try on my old porcelain tub which has become porous-- stains easily and collects soap scum
Use a small 3" paint roller for application, it will save on product and clean up
I'll try that one day on a new project or reapplication. Thanks!
We bought this product for sealing our newly tiled floor grout only. After an accidental spill, we tried to wash the floor and saw how incredibly well the spill spot was repelling water... so wanted to know if we could seal the rest of the porcelain tiles also (they are not glazed). It seems like this would work very well according to all the feedback and your video. Thank you!
Yes you can! It works well and is long lasting.
So you applied it with the sponge in a little section, waited 3-5 minutes then buffed it off with a microfiber towel?
Was about to purchase this yesterday but after reading the label I saw "cancer and reproductive harm ". So i decided to do some research first.
Yes, I saw that and it does say that but so do many other things like paint, ammo, cleaners, etc.
Perfect, thanks.
Hellooooooo, good evening greetings from Venezuela, I want to tell you that excellent video is very good thanks for making this content for us your followers from all over the world that we are aware of all your content. Excellent work 100% recommended this video greetings happy night
Thank you! You too!
Could I epoxy our old gas stove top? Thanks guys... love this. - Ken in Hawaii
Hello, I have matte porcelin tiles. Could I use this on them? I need something to help me with the dirt sticking to them ... also does this product flake over time ? Thankyou so much for your time
How often do I have to use this product? What do you recommend to use to clean the floors on a regular basis ? Thank you
*I use this tile cleaner ➜**amzn.to/2r1RFTW** and apply it with a Swiffer ➜**amzn.to/2DBDZSs**. I use the cleaner weekly and I have a Roomba ➜**amzn.to/34CwwOM** that sweeps on a schedule daily.*
Will it make a slippery tile less slippery?
Informative video
That lighted the grout a lot. I'm in the middle of grout now. Can I use this then use a grout stain after to darken it back up???? I have the same tiles and grout.
Will the product scratch on the surface of the tile over time? I'm worried when chairs are moved you will get a wax scuff like you do with Mop and Glow.
Thank you for sharing! How long did you wait after you cleaned the floors before you applied product? I have to scrub the grout cause of stains. Also do we have to avoid walking on it for a full day or just avoid dropping liquid on it due to staining
I’d wait an 1hr or more till the surface is dry.
Do you run into problems with uneven grout "bleaching"? I too also have dark tiles and dark grout. I don't like the idea of lightening the grout. But if it's unavoidable, is this consistent in how it lightens the grout?
It's not unavoidable. I used Aqua Mix Sealer's Choice Gold Quart, 32 Ounce on my grout and it did not lighten the grout at all.
Should I avoid ceramic grout caulk when applying? I want to do it before I caulk but not sure if it’ll affect adhering
Thank you for your video. When you applied this, was there a strong smell and if so how long after did dissipate? I was reading on some other sealers and how people couldn't stand the smell.
There was a slight alcohol like smell and went away after about 1hr. The solution dries fast and I did open the windows and had a fan sucking air out on one side of the home.
@@VibrantDeals Good to know, thanks again!
We are putting back splash in the kitchen do you know if this is safe on metal because the back splash has metal plates and ceramic in it ?
Is one bottle enough for the main living areas? Kitchen, living room, bathrooms? Our tile is lighter and we chose a light grout as well. Would this product affect the color of the tile itself? Can this we used over porcelain tile?
*✅**amzn.to/3bJTqI9** a little goes a long way. 1 quart would be more than plenty although it says it will cover about 1000sqft. Your floor and grout would be ideal for this product and would not effect the color of the tile. You can definitely use this on tile.*
Is it slippery once its put on z& dried
Thank you for the upload. It says 24-73 to cure. Just curious how long the wait is so that it can be walked on. Thanks again.
3 to 5 hours
Just had my tile installed too. Did you have to mop the left over debris or would a simple broom sweeping be okay before application?
Nice! I actually swept up all the large debris and then vacuumed up small hard to reach debris. The solution acts as a cleaning agent and sealant when applying it with a mop or sponge.
I would clean all the surface first it's something on the tile and you seal it it's there forever pencil mark marker mark little things stuck in the sealer
@@VibrantDeals yeah it does act like a cleaning agent but I would still clean my floor before I sealed it you can actually use 511 penetrating sealer to clean 511 penetrating sealer
Can you use this on porcelain tile? Will this make the tile slippery?
how long should I wait before applying a second coat?
30 minutes
Thanks, this was very helpful. Can I use this on porcelain wood Look tile?
Yes, absolutely!
@@VibrantDeals Thanks
What happens if you decide not to wipe off the excess?
It will usually just dry and blend in especially if the surface is very porous.
Does it make your floor slippery when walking on it?
It does not.
It uses before applying the grout??
Can this be used before grouting to prevent staining from the grout? Then maybe again after grouting?
You can definitely do that but just try not to get it too damp to where it gets into the grouting seems. The grout might not adhere as well. I would try to put it on the surface of the tile and try not to have too much runoff.
@@VibrantDeals Thank you.
after applying does it suppose to feel a little sticky? Not completely dry yet, I applied it on yesterday around 10 am.
It is slightly tacky when you put on but you want to make sure you shake it up before you apply and use a thin coat. Once it dries it is not even noticeable on the surface.
You should wipe off any access 3-5 minutes after application. It should not feel tacky 24 hours later.
I don't need to wipe it off? I have a dull porcelain finishing my shower. I thought you need to wipe it on real quick and wipe it off?
Can I use my steam cleaner/mop
after using this product to seal my tile?
Yes!
Did it stain your tile because I installed the same tile with prism grout and the installer said it would stain.
Is it resistant to outside temperatures 85 degrees or more?
Great video. What do you use to mop the floors?
I just sweep/vacuum and use a Swiffer with Bona cleaning solution ➜amzn.to/2TsTPEi.
Can i use this on glass/stone mix mosaic kitchen backsplash?
I've seen people do it before with amazing results. I would recommend testing a small area first before tackling a whole project.
So did you put light color grout with dark tile because it’s still white
Hi, I just recently had some wood tile installed and sadly was not done by professionals. I don’t think my tiles were ever sealed. I was painting some based boards and used blue tape to avoid painting the tiles and when I removed the painters tape, the shiny part of the tile gets removed leaving a matte finished. I can only assume that they were never sealed...how can remove the shiny layer and clean the tile so I can seal it afterwards myself? Thank you.
Tiles don't need to be sealed. If painters tape took off the shininess of your tiles, it's most likely they were sealed, or were just very cheap tiles. If you were to cheap too have professionals install the tile, I'm guessing you probably bought extremely cheap tiles too. Nothing wrong with that, I'm currently using the cheapest tile and fake wood flooring that Home Depot sells.
Are you sure you pulled the finish off of the tile or did you remove a gloss sealer finish. I used Tilelab gloss sealer and finish and blue painters tape rips it right off of the floor. The stuffs complete garbage. I doubt it was who installed it, rather than a garbage sealer was used. That stuffs expensive to, to be so cheap.
FYI. You only seal the grout lines not the surface of a porcelain or ceramic tile. Only seal the porous surface. (The grout)
Is there a version of this with glaze/gloss included? Going for a shiny look, thanks.
There isnt here at lowes.. *lowes employee*
Try Home Depot. I'm sure they'll have it.
Can I use this to seal lime plaster?
Did you use sanded grout or unsanded? What is the difference ?
Yes this is sanded grout. Unsanded is just smoother and doesn't feel like sandpaper.
sanded grout is used for larger tiles or for grout sizes 1/8" or thicker. Use unsanded grout for under 1/8" thick grout lines... and use sanded grout on all outdoor tile
After I apply these the floor won’t be scratched
It doesn't really help with scratch resistance but it aides in sealing the pores of the tile to prevent or repel stains.
Will this work to give textured porcelain tile (stone feel) a more wet look and hide haze & stains? It's a light gray color and when i mop it, it looks great, but when it dries it looks horrible.
It all depends on the sealer. Some will not alter the look at all. Be away that sealers can make the floor much more slippery.
Do I need to apply another surface coating agent after applying this impregnating sealant on tiles and grouts? Thanks!
If you have to ask that question, you would probably have someone else do the work.
This should be the last thing you do. Unless you want to seal tiles before grouting to avoid more grout haze cleanup on tiles
How did it hold up??
Looks the same & does a great job protecting! I did do a re-applications last year & it required a very light amount of product bc it was previously sealed.
Great product? It changed the grout from dark brown to damn near white..
Does this hold up against foot traffic preserving the seal and finish for a long time?
Yep it holds up. We had our house built in 2016. And soon as builders laid our tile down I applied 511 and I haven't needed to reapply it since. And we have tile in all main areas. (front/garage door area, living room, kitchen, bathroom, etc.) Between myself and my wife and 3 dogs it's held up nicely. Definitely worth it's higher price imo.
How long did you need to wait prior to take a shower after appling 511 sealer on shower tub.
I used the exact grout and now I'm afraid of using this product.
We definitely don't want our grout lighter. Is something you did wrong in the Mix and did you tried another product?
For dark shaded grout, you need to use epoxy based sealers. The sealer in the video is a water based sealer - all water based sealers will discolor dark grout, especially when applied too much (like in this video).
@Heavenlytunes. I too have the exact dark grout and most certainly don't want a lighter grout. Did you find a similar product that doesn't turn grout lighter?
@@MannyCamRS read the comment above
where to buy
Is this product good for gloss finish dark grey procelain tiles
I seen people use this on porcelain tile but I personally would not because most porcelain tiles are non-porous and do not need to be sealed but the grout is porous and does need to be sealed.
Do you have to wait 24 hours to step on the tile?
No you don't. The instruction on the bottle say it is dry to touch and normal foot traffic is fine after 1-3hrs. It says for best results keep treated area dry and free from staining for 72hrs.
Vibrant Deals thanks for the reply. I’ve seen that this product is the best. Going to definitely get it. Thank you.
Awesome anytime!
Can it be used on ceramic tile?
Yes, definitely. Read the description ➜amzn.to/2SQGAhh.
@@VibrantDeals So the description says, Surfaces treated with 511 sealer will become harder and less slippery. Which means the surface might get harder than present, So my Laminated wood look tile may become even more harder ? I actually want to make it shiny, Not harder. Is this product will help or will ruin ?

IMHO the grout looks terrible now. In your "before pix" the simulated wood tile/ dark gout combo it almost disappears and gives the floor a more real wood feel. Now it looks like tile. I would have been very upset.
Is it waterbase?
solvent based, clean with mineral spirits
