Hello again with a quick fix Affinity Designer iPad tutorial for beginners! When using Affinity Designer 2 on the iPad, you might notice that sometimes Clip to Canvas is not accessible via the Preview Mode button (upper right corner next to Snapping). I'm showing you a few quick fixes for beginners. What is Clip to Canvas? It's a preview mode that restricts the document view, so you can only see objects which are placed on the page, aka your canvas. Please note, Clip to Canvas is switched on by default and this option is unavailable in documents containing artboards.

Thank you so much! That little dot next to clip to canvas under the “windshield” looking icon was the fix I needed.
Happy to hear! I was also kinda not sure about those settings. There’s still not many Affinity tutorials out there, so I was figuring things out with trial and error 🤭
Thank you!
Yay thank you. Now it works 😅
ok,it took me hours to find the clip to canvas feature in Affinity Designer 2 on my laptop. If anyone else is having trouble it is under view, view mode, scroll to last option. A far as "little windshield", I haven't been able to find that. If anyone else has please let me know. Thanks. Thanks you, Weronika, I'm currently watching your video on building the template.
heeey....!. you are rock. thank you so much
Will you be releasing a video for a half drop repeat template for affinity or is that only for subs of your classes?
I’ll probably create a RUclips video on it soon ^^ I also have a course about it on Skillshare and Gumroad, plus you can get the template from my free artist resource library 🥰 www.weronikasalach.com/signup-resource-library Do you like using Affinity too? 🤩
@@WeronikaSalach yes, I am liking the switch to Affinity! There is a strong learning curve compared to say Procreate for example but I love the ability to draw in vector without losing line quality. Thank you for all of your work!
Is this a feature only available on an iPad?
I think so, yes. I’m only teaching about designing in Affinity ❤️
Ooh edit: I needed a coffee to fully get it hihi. The desktop Affinity version also has it 🥰
🙂👍🙋🏻♂️
Thank you but it is useless :) I suppose most of us work on desktop computers not on tablets. I love Affinity but this Clip Canvas feature is is the most annoying - almost like a silly Adobe feature. The funny thing is that I haven`t found the solution yet! :D :D :D
What I do on the iPad, you can do the same on your desktop version.
@@WeronikaSalach Thank you. Sorry, I didn't want to hurt or offend you. Unfortunately on the latest version I am unable to find these features. I come from Adobe land and I miss a couple of feature, for instance a quick change between preview and work view (which seems to be the Clip Canvas). Nevertheless Affinity is far better than Adobe.
@@CsokaErno Ooh no offense at all! Just a quick reply after a hard working day :) It’s somewhere under “View”. I admit I’m using desktop too infrequently
