  • If you're eager to learn Taekwondo, this series is tailor-made for you. Each class is carefully crafted to build upon the last, laying a solid foundation in TKD. These videos are not just a random assortment of techniques; they follow a curriculum that teaches World Taekwondo (WT) style TKD. Filmed in a format resembling in-person classes, each session introduces new techniques and concepts while reinforcing existing skills. This is not merely a series of techniques; it's a comprehensive training program designed to take you through each belt level.
    I've embarked on creating this series for several meaningful reasons:
    1) This is something I wish someone had made when i was young. Growing up, martial arts training materials beyond the dojang were scarce, and primarily confined to books. This series seeks to break those limitations and offer dynamic, accessible training.
    2) For those who may not have a TKD school nearby or struggle with class schedules, this series serves as a gateway to experience the art remotely, bringing the essence of Taekwondo to diverse corners of the world.
    3) This is a shared journey. The title of this series is "Let's Train!" it embodies a collective effort. It's not "You Train!". By starting afresh from the white belt, I'll be doing every kick along with you, immersing myself in the learning process, and continually refining my own skills along the way.
    In this inaugural class, we'll learn the introductory Taekwondo techniques. As the series unfolds, we'll delve deeper into these techniques, drilling them to perfection and honing the art of Taekwondo together. Get ready for an enriching journey where we learn, grow, and train side by side.

    Sir, please make some videos on hosinsel and self defense techniques of Taekwondo.
    Thank you so much.

      I actually stopped teaching most self defense techniques as I’ve come to realize the best way to have good self defense is to have a strong foundation in both stand up fighting and ground fighting and then spend time sparring with people of different body types. One off “self defense techniques” rarely make a big difference. My goal with the TKD course is to give you a strong stand up fighting foundation and I recommend checking out BJJ for a strong ground fighting game.
      In these videos you will find sparring tactics which themselves could be classified as self defense techniques, but it’s all just a part of the game.

    I have one more question for your taekwondo course. I dont know alot about taekwondo but I always hear how they dont use hands alot but it looks like your mixing in some boxing punches. Does your style use hands a little more than some other taekwondo schools? Also I used to do a little bit of tang soo do which is very similar so it would probably be an easy transition into taekwondo for me.

      It’s true that a lot of TKD school don’t throw punches. Which is sad cause TKD literally translates to the way of kicking and punching. The Kukkiwon has started to push for better hand techniques in the past few years though so that’s good. I teach basic boxing techniques in my TKD classes as I believe students should be more well rounded.

    Does Taekwondo include any sweeps and take downs?

    • @AdamGerrald
      @AdamGerrald  6 месяцев назад

      Some schools do teach sweeps and takedowns but it’s not common. If that is what you’re looking for then try out Judo. If you’re wanting a striking art with sweeps and takedowns try out Muay Thai which is the most practical or capoeira which is less practical but very fun to practice.
