    Having over 5 decades of experience but not calling myself a pro, I loved the faster pace. So many vids are geared for total beginners and I respect that but finding inspiration for the experienced crocheter is a lengthy hunting expedition. I loved this pattern and the yarn is to die for. Hoping you sell it and of course hoping it's affordable. Yarn seems to be climbing the same ladder craft supplies have. Such a senseless shame everything is a game of greed. Thx so much for the tutorials.

    • @SecretYarnery
      @SecretYarnery  5 лет назад +1

      Thanks Lynda! I feel that by the time a crocheter is ready to make garments - even if they are complete beginners - can manage the pause button. Listen to the words... watch the general stitches... hit pause. Do the stitches... press play. ;)

      For a beginner you are going way too fast at the start of the foundation change and I don't understand how you get that first bit even. I don't think the title should be for begginners unless you slow down and move the camera a lot closer.

    Tried the foundation row with size 6 hook and 4 medium (Aran) wool and 60 stitches worked up to 21 inches. Also tried chaining 60 and doing single crochet and it turned out 17 inches! I know it’s meant to be 181/2 inches and I’m a learner so don’t want to change the number of stitches. Any advice?

    Hi, I’m just wondering if this is for an adult or child ? In other videos I’ve seen they are saying you need yo stitches for a 12 year old. I went to try that over her head last night & im not sure that it would fit for too long. I’m unsure on what to do about this, do you have any suggestions at all please ?

      My question too. This is not a beginner pattern and she goes so fast it is hard to get to the right place when you pause and go back. This is the 1st video of hers I have watched. The poncho is beautiful but I don't think I'll be a follower of hesr, she's to advanced and does not want to deal with beginners apparently.

      so if I was to buy say sport yarn right would
      I still follow along the same way in your video or would things have to be change? It generally the same concept how to make this right ?

    I love your poncho. I want to make a poncho with a cowl collar. Do you think this pattern would be easy to add a cowl to? Thank you for any ideas. Don't feel that you have to hurry. I know you are busy, busy, busy. I should be doing so much instead of dreaming of a new project. Bobwilson123 has a cast on on Christmas eve. I have been thinking of what I want to start. Our church service is too late for me to go so I would like to spend some time on Christmas Eve listening to music, watching a service and crocheting. Blessings and joy!

    Ok I'm confused. Towards the end (I think 35 minutes or so) you started the boxes row. Chain 5 to start that row, double crochet in same space, double crochet into next stitch. Shouldn't there be a ch 1 in between?

    • @SecretYarnery

      Hi Shirley! 60 chains is what goes around your head... I haven't made a plus size poncho, but imagine a couple increase rows along the front would be helpful to keep the comfort level maxed.

    Hi Christa. I love this pattern but I’m stuck on row 6. What is the stitch multiple? Will any even number work for the starting chain? I started with a chain of 80 but once I get to the point on row 6 I’m off a stitch. I should be working in the stitch right before the point but that’s not what’s happening. I wonder if my starting chain is the problem.
    Any advice would be very much appreciated!
