  • Welcome back to another tutorial my Lovelies. Today, I am bringing you a video on how to crochet this fashionable, cute and warm Poncho. I made this for Halloween hence the choice of colors.     - I used 6mm Hook (Recommended 5.5 mm Hook)
    - Colours are Black and Curry
    - I used 1.5 skeins of the Black Color and .5 skeins of the Curry @ 354 Yds.

    what a lovely tutorial thankyou, it was slow and easy to understand and follow, some tutorials go to fast for me, i am a beginner cant wait to get started but i would like to do extra large dont know how many chain i would do, and how many trebles each side would i need this one was 10 each side i think a bit too small for me would love some help/advice to increase please thankyou kay

      For an extra large, start with 150 chains, then follow the same instructions as the video from there

    First of all thank you so much for this tutorial! This was my first big crochet project and I love how it turned out 🫶🏼 I wanted to know if you hand wash it or machine wash it? Will the black fade and make the light color dark? Thank you in advance 🙏🏼

      You are very welcome. I am glad you liked it. In terms of washing, I usually just follow the instructions on the yarn.

      Yes you can machine wash it,but in time just like a sweater it will start to pill and could catch other fibers in it as well.After I put in all that work I like to hand wash it squeeze the water out with a towel and lay flat to dry.But it is your project you treat it the way you like.Haply crocheting.

      You are very welcome. Yes to change the size, you just need to do more chains for a larger size and less for a smaller size

      It's multiple of 4 . I did chain 160 , 19 clusters of 3 double crochet on each side

    This tutorial was helpful. However, can i know how many inches your 88 chains amounted to? That will help in making necessary adjustments for a smaller or bigger soze

      The 88 chains is 27 inches. That is with the size of yarn I used and the crochet hook size I used. This will be a different number depending on those things and maybe even a bit different depending on your intensity when crocheting

      Just divide the number of your chains into 2 and you will have each corner to work into

      This one is a medium and all the information on the amount of yarn is in the description box of the video. I don’t know how much yarn you need for different sizes because I haven’t made it in other sizes

      I am not sure how that is the case. Make sure you are using the right size of yarn and hook size

      Hello, it would depend on how old the child is. Start by seeing how you want it to fit around the neck. You can start as small as 20 chains, 32 chains or even 44 and on and on

      No single crochet. I just finished the it final row with the same stitch as the body of the work

    Hi, if I chain 88, i dont get 10 granny clusters on each side. I tried 3 times over and still won't get 10 on each side....

      I am not sure how you get that. I just re-watched the video and it’s 10 on each side when you skip 3 stitches and work into the 4th one with 3 DC in the same stitch. Sorry maybe make sure you have the right amount of stitches at the beginning

    This is what I have been looking for but I have a question I have been told chain 72 76 or 80 now you say 88 is there a reason why ? Also told 60 gor a adult I don't want it to hang off my shoulders I want to fit just like your picture

      It really depends on the size you are trying to make. The 88 chains I started with are for the medium poncho. I would imagine you were told of different chains based on the sizes you want to make

      I am a small woman 5’1 feet. So I made a medium for me and it looks as it does in the pics. So you will need to make sure you make one to fit you better based on your size

    I am getting close to the end. Why do I keep getting an incomplete circle at the end? I am scared I want complete the end.

      So when you complete your 15th row in the second block of the black, you just slip stitch to end. So let’s say at 22:10 that was where your final 15 th row ends. Then you just slip stitch, cut the yarn and weave in the end. I hope this makes sense
