I was familiar with Gene Pitney, but I had never heard this song so this was a very pleasant surprise. The fact that it is a stereo remix made it even better. THANKS!!!
🎧👍👍 Hi, Pat: That's a perfect mix! I like so many of his songs but this one in particular has a thrilling climax! Well done and thank you for doing this one.
@ have you ever heard of Neil sedakas 1975 release “ The immigrant “ pat co- write with Phil cody, a song dedicated to John Lennon, please listen pat !
Bought the single as always admired the guy. Have Ace cd of all the singles. Recorded by Frankie Laine earlier but not a hit and covered by Juice Newton which is also up there. But have to hand the cover version award to Cyndi Lauper as lead singer of the Blue Angels (before her solo success). The live version on YT is a must visit and shows how good her voice is. Will give you the goose bumps. Wonderful stereo sound on Gene single Pat, and the crescendo is spine tingling.
Thanks Henry. I listened to the Frankie Laine version when I was researching the song, and I quite liked it. I didn't listen to the Cyndi Lauper live version, so I will check it out!
A HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE THANK YOU DEAR FRIEND For Posting This Amazing Sounding Song Which Just Happens To Be My # 1 ALL TIME FAVORITE SONG By Gene Pitney ! Happy Thanksgiving, God Bless Remain Safe .
My older sister had his old record albums so grew up with his music songs since like age 6 or 7 years old . Used to borrow her records as I always loved early 60s mid 60s music plus I have always love my music from late 60s through the 80s and 70s but love even some 90s most music too . Happy Thanksgiving
I really liked his songs. Very unusual voice. 24 Sycamore is one of my favourites. I know Wayne Fontana did it but to me it's impossible to choose which one I prefer. They're both brilliant.
@radiowollaton8521 I've just listened to Wayne's version again and I think I definitely prefer his. Not much in it though. It's like a 9 points for GP and 10 for WF.
@ please do Half Heaven, Half Heart Ache. I don’t think it has drums - all the rhythm is anchored in that beautiful acoustic guitar which I never tire of.
I didn't used to be a fan of Gene Pitney, his songs were too soft for me. I preferred the hard, rebellious stuff. Today it's different, also thanks to your remixes Pat, which sound fantastic on headphones.
What a stunning remix. Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil could certainly produce some good songs and Gene Pitney could certainly sing a bit - the only improvement could have been a superb stereo remix. Job done....thanks Pat.
Another wonderful remix from Radio Wollaton, thanks very much.Just a request can you remix either of these tracks; "Shakin All over" by the Guess Who, or "Wooly Bully" by Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs ?
My favorite Gene Pitney record , That last note just sheer perfection . Cheers Pat .
👍👍
This is such a great song not played much nowadays. What a great pick to remix
Wonderful job Bravo
Thanks Greg. It was a recent request, and a good one !
One of my favourite singers, more than pleased to hear this fantastic version, thank you Pat
Thanks Marty 👍👍

Thank you 👍

@@ullig.3766 Hi Ulli. A bright frosty morning here in Nottingham !
The title is also a message to Didi, who also has to be strong these days.
@@Gerhard.P Indeed.

Happy Thanksgiving Patti (we don't do Thanksgiving here in England, by the way!)
Cyndi Lauper did a fine version of this with Blue Angel, but this sounds great too.
I had a listen to that version. Not bad at all !

It's got to be Gene's version for me! ruclips.net/video/mwqNBpFPAdI/видео.html

@@fs.pureblood Wayne's version is a close second though.
Wow! This is stunning, Pat. Just love the backing vocals.
Thanks Bill. And what an ending to a song, Gene could really sing !
A very good remix of this song, your stereo is pleasant and perfect, you're the best !👌👍😊
Thank you Monsieur 👍👍

Great song Pat. My fave of Gene’s is “If I Didn’t Have a Dime”
Thanks Leo. My favourite is Something's Gotten Hold Of My Heart

Same with me Gerhard. But deconstructing these old records and remixing them has given me a whole new appreciation of this kind of music.
